2. Leveling & Crafting Achievements

Strong Legs

Reach level 10.

Strong Arms

Reach level 20.

Indomitable Spirit

Reach level 30.

These three come naturally through quests, exploration, and combat.

Arms from the Shoulders

Craft any item.

The easiest method is to simply cook food at any campfire. Preparing a meal counts as crafting, and you can unlock this within minutes.

Master Blacksmith

Create a Legend.

You must forge a legendary-quality item. This requires:

  • High crafting skill
  • Rare ingredients
  • Access to an advanced forge
  • Recipes or scrolls that enable legendary output

This achievement usually comes in the late game after investing into crafting paths.

3. Faction Achievements

You can only join one faction per playthrough, so you’ll need multiple runs to earn both.

In the Name of the One!

Join the Order of the Seven.

For the Free People!

Join the Free Hunters.

Each faction has its own questline and reputation requirements. Choose the one that fits your character role-play.

4. Questline Achievements

These are tied to major side stories. Many of them require following a full storyline from beginning to end.

Neck-deep in Intrigue

Complete the Smugglers’ storyline.

Knee-deep in Mud

Complete the Gravediggers’ storyline.

Elbow-deep in Blood

Complete the Bounty Hunters’ storyline.

These three represent major optional faction arcs. Depending on your choices, they can take different directions.

The Hunt of a Lifetime

Kill the Ravager.

One of the most dangerous creatures in the region. Prepare thoroughly: consumables, high-tier armor, and upgraded weaponry.

…but at what cost?

Study the Stone of the Dead.

Found in later areas tied to the magical and ritualistic parts of the story.

Rantmaster

Become a master of Ranta.

This involves mastering the Ranta minigame/dialogue mechanic (depending on its in-game implementation). Keep engaging in Ranta encounters until the mastery condition triggers.

Long Live the New King!

Meet the Bark Beetle King.

Follow forest-related quest routes or exploration paths where the insect tribes appear.

A Fish Rots from the Head

Don’t let the curse engulf the fishing village.

You must intervene early and make the correct choices to save the villagers. Taking too long or choosing the wrong dialogue options may fail this achievement.

There’s a Place to Live!

Help Radim build his house.

Follow Radim’s full questline and bring him the materials he needs.

Axe and Wood Chips

Save the lumberjacks from bandits.

Triggered by helping the workers during their crisis event in the forest region.

Love

Reconcile Alfred and Omecca.

Complete their relationship storyline by choosing diplomatic dialogue options and resolving their misunderstanding.

5. Miscellaneous Achievements

A number of one-off actions, secrets, and world interactions.

Guardian

Unlock all Ancient Knowledge.

This requires locating and learning from all Ancient Knowledge sources scattered around the world—often hidden in ruins, caves, shrines, and behind hard stat checks.

Entrepreneur

Deposit money in the bank at interest.

Go to any banker, deposit gold, and allow time to pass until interest generates.

Greyshaft’s Latest Fashionista

Get a new haircut.

Find a barber or stylist in Greyshaft and change Tristan’s appearance.

Home Sweet Home

Buy a plot of land and an estate.

You can purchase a house from Gretsky near the fishing village, in the suburbs. The cost is 500 gold. Once you own the estate, the achievement unlocks.

Trouble: Fall in a Puddle

Trip while sprinting.

Run while sprinting and intentionally hit:

  • A puddle
  • A stick
  • Any small ground obstacle

Tristan will fall, unlocking the achievement.

Dirty Money

Kill the Smugglers’ Pig.

Look for pigs carrying baskets around the map. They run quickly, but if you manage to kill one, you earn this achievement. They usually appear near smuggler routes or trade paths.

With story completion, side questlines, faction commitments, exploration secrets, and crafting goals, Of Ash and Steel offers a diverse set of achievements that push you into every part of the game. A single playthrough won’t cover everything—especially faction-locked or mutually exclusive storylines—so expect at least two runs if you aim for 100%.
