Millennium Dream quietly hides some of its most powerful features behind exploration. The ability to control time, change the weather, and alter photo styles is not unlocked automatically. Each function is tied to specific collectible items that must be discovered through careful navigation of the game’s dreamlike spaces.
This guide walks through every Magic Alarm Clock, Film, and Weather Regulator, explaining where to find them, how to reach each area naturally, and what each item actually does once collected.
Magic Alarm Clocks (Time Control)
Magic Alarm Clocks allow you to manually set the in-game time. Each one represents a specific moment of the day and subtly affects how time flows afterward.
Morning Alarm Clock
At home, interact with your mother to take 20 yuan, then steal another 20 yuan from the bathroom. Leave the house and head to the New Century Residential Area. Walk around the square street and speak to Xiaohui, then go upstairs into her apartment.
Inside Xiaohui’s home, enter the portal on the right to reach the backroom area. Follow the green exit to escape and arrive at the grassy house zone. One of the rooms here contains the Morning Magic Alarm Clock. Be sure to search carefully, as there is also extra money in this area.
Effect: Sets the time to early morning, just as the sun rises.
Time progression slows noticeably after use.
Noon Alarm Clock
After leaving Xiaohui’s house, continue toward the edge of the residential area. At the entrance of a small illegal convenience store (or internet café), you’ll find the Noon Magic Alarm Clock.
Effect: Instantly changes the game time to noon.
Dusk Alarm Clock
Purchase Brain Gold for 20 yuan at the convenience store, then leave the New Century Residential Area and travel to your grandparents’ house. Speak with your grandfather. If you already bought the Brain Gold, you can reclaim the 20 yuan from the table.
After saying goodbye and going downstairs, look near the railing outside to find the Dusk Magic Alarm Clock.
Effect: Sets the time to late afternoon / early sunset.
Time flows slowly and eventually transitions naturally into night.
Midnight Alarm Clock
Jump down the hole beneath your grandparents’ house to reach the pedestrian street. Follow the main road to Long Winter City, take the train, and arrive at your grandmother’s countryside home.
Inside, the Midnight Magic Alarm Clock sits on a stool.
Effect: Sets the time to midnight.
Real-Time Alarm Clock
Leave Grandma’s house by train and pass through the kindergarten, Mengchuan City Experimental School, Mengchuan City Senior Experimental High School, and the Promised Future area. Follow the green exit through the work area to return to your future “home.”
On the table inside, you’ll find the Real-Time Alarm Clock.
Effect: Synchronizes in-game time with your system clock.
Film Collection (Photo Style Filters)
Films modify the visual style of photos taken in-game.
Important note: You must manually pick up the film from your camera on your table before it can be used. Select the camera and press E twice to equip the film.
Noahie Film
Exit the New Century Residential Area, speak with the gatekeeper, grab a flashlight, and head upstairs via the green exit. Continue until you reach your grandparents’ house. The film rests on a table inside.
Effect: Adds heavy noise and an old-photo aesthetic.
Line Art Film
After leaving your grandparents’ house, go downstairs and crawl into a hidden hole to reach the pedestrian street. Walk until you find a fashionable photo booth with its shutter half-closed. Crouch and crawl inside to retrieve the film from a shelf.
Effect: Converts photos into black-and-white line drawings.
Cartoon Watercolor Film
From the pedestrian street, take the train from Changdong City to Grandma’s house, then take another train to the kindergarten. Turn left and enter the first classroom near the stairs. The film is on a table.
Effect: Gives photos a childlike cartoon watercolor style.
Black & White Film
Proceed through Mengchuan City Experimental School to Senior Experimental High School. Reach the rooftop, go downstairs, and enter the portal. Turn left toward the Promised Future area, but instead go right into the Senior Three branch.
On the stage of the 100-Day Countdown Rally, you’ll find this film.
Effect: Fully desaturates photos into stark black and white.
Warm Sunshine Film
After the college entrance exam, when you reach the Promised Future scene, go outside toward the blue sphere. Inside a pavilion nearby lies the film.
Effect: Adds warm tones and golden lighting to photos.
Weather Regulators (Environmental Control)
Weather Regulators allow you to toggle real-time weather effects on and off. Each one can be reused to revert conditions back to normal.
Heavy Rain Regulator
Return to Xiaohui’s house, enter the backroom portal, escape via the green exit, and reach the grassy house area again. Walk along the wisteria corridor to obtain the Heavy Rain Regulator.
Effect: Triggers heavy rain, thunder, and lightning.
Using it again clears the rain and reveals a rainbow.
Heavy Snow Regulator
After leaving Xiaohui’s house, travel past your grandparents’ home, fall into the hole to reach the pedestrian street, and continue to Long Winter City. Enter the public bathhouse and speak with the proprietress.
The regulator is located in the women’s changing room.
Effect: Starts heavy snowfall.
Using it again melts snow and ice.
Dense Fog Regulator
Progress through Grandma’s house, Kindergarten, Experimental School, and Senior Experimental High School. From the rooftop, descend the stairs and enter the hidden room to begin the college entrance exam side quest.
Behind the door leading to the Promised Future after the exam, you’ll find the Fog Regulator.
Effect: Covers the world in dense fog.
Using it again clears visibility.
Cloudy Weather Regulator
From Changdong City, travel through Grandma’s house, Kindergarten, Experimental School, and Senior High School into the Promised Future area. Turn right outside and enter the small house in the center of the lawn.
On a table inside, you’ll find the Cloudy Weather Regulator.
Effect: Changes weather to overcast skies.
Using it again restores clear sunshine.
Millennium Dream rewards curiosity more than direction. These tools don’t just change visuals; they let you reshape memory, atmosphere, and time itself, which fits perfectly with the game’s themes.
