Mongil Star Dive Tier List (April 2026) – Best Characters

Picking characters in Mongil: Star Dive can feel confusing early on because everything looks strong at first glance, but once you start progressing, the difference between a top-tier unit and an average one becomes very obvious.

This guide is built to help you understand not just who is good, but why they are good, explained in a simple and natural way so you can make smart decisions without overthinking. Each character is explained in clean sentences so you can quickly understand their strengths, weaknesses, and where they actually shine.

Also keep in mind that the game is still evolving, so rankings may shift over time, but these are based on current performance across Story, Conquest, and Dimensional Rift.

Tier S Characters

These are the strongest and most reliable units right now, and they perform well across multiple game modes without needing heavy setup.

Mina is one of the most consistent damage dealers in the game because she provides steady AoE output with very low cooldowns, allowing her to keep attacking almost constantly as long as her Essence is managed properly, making her excellent in Story, strong in Conquest due to continuous pressure, and very efficient in Dimensional Rift because her dash reduces downtime between targets.

Esther stands out because her combat style turns her basic attacks into sweeping AoE damage within her field while also confusing enemies, which adds survivability, making her very strong in Story, decent in Conquest due to low neutralization damage, and still valuable in Dimensional Rift mainly due to seasonal scoring advantages despite having higher cooldown limitations.

Sangun performs extremely well because of his long attack range, fast attack speed, and easy-to-use playstyle, which makes him very effective in Story and Dimensional Rift as a main damage dealer, although in Conquest his effectiveness depends more on whether the boss is weak to Wind.

Flare is currently one of the strongest Destroyers in the game because she excels at dealing high single-target damage, making her perfect for boss-focused content like Conquest, while still being strong in Story even though her AoE is limited, and slightly less dominant in Dimensional Rift where AoE and mobility matter more.

Tier A Characters

These characters are very good and worth building, but they either need some setup or are slightly less flexible compared to T0 units.

Angel delivers strong AoE damage and works very well as both a main and sub damage dealer in Story, but in Conquest she becomes more limited because her kit is AoE-focused, while in Dimensional Rift she performs exceptionally well due to balanced damage output.

Ophelia relies heavily on auto attacks for her damage, which makes her strong against single targets and effective in Conquest against Ice-weak bosses, but her limited AoE reduces her impact in Story and Rift compared to higher-tier units.

Gabi can deal strong damage but requires building up Spiritual Power charges to unlock her full AoE potential, which makes her slightly slower to use efficiently, though she still performs well against Earth-weak bosses in Conquest.

Jiwon plays more of a support role by boosting Wind damage and grouping enemies, making her very valuable in Dimensional Rift where speed matters, but less impactful in Conquest since grouping is not very useful there and she lacks healing utility.

Benjamin works well as a sub-DPS character who adds consistent AoE damage whenever special skills are used, making him useful in Story and Rift, while in Conquest his value depends heavily on whether your team is focused on Lightning damage.

Tier B Characters

These units are usable but often need specific setups, awakenings, or team synergy to perform well.

Penny has good AoE potential but relies on Seed of Awakening to fully unlock her strength, making her average early on and more effective later, especially in modes where Lightning weakness is present.

Cloud provides a balanced mix of AoE and stagger damage, but his performance depends on stacking Ice Crystals, which takes time without proper upgrades, making him steady but not exceptional.

Sera offers solid AoE damage and becomes more effective with investment, especially due to her special skill, but she lacks the speed and efficiency needed to compete with higher-tier units in faster modes like Rift.

Bonnie focuses on AoE explosions and boosting critical damage, but her usefulness drops in Conquest and Rift where her kit does not align well with the demands of those modes.

Tier C Characters

These characters can work but often feel slow, clunky, or too dependent on specific conditions.

Verna has an awkward playstyle and struggles to keep up without awakenings, making her underwhelming in most situations.

Leeho takes too long to deliver meaningful damage, which makes him inefficient compared to faster and more consistent units.

Reina offers decent neutralization damage in Conquest but feels inconsistent overall and less reliable in other modes due to awkward mechanics.

Francis provides healing and buffs, but healing is not very impactful in fast-paced content like Story, though she has some value in Conquest and Rift when paired with Earth teams.

Ellie performs better when off-field and can provide strong burst neutralization damage in Conquest, but her niche playstyle limits her overall usability.

Yeonhwa depends heavily on having a high critical rate setup, which is difficult to achieve early in the game, making her less practical for most players.

Tier C Characters

These characters currently lack impact and are generally not recommended unless future updates improve them.

Daisy focuses on healing but forces stationary gameplay and does not provide enough utility or damage to justify using her in any major mode, making her one of the weakest choices overall.

If you want a simple way to decide without overthinking, focus on Mina, Esther, Sangun, and Flare first because they give immediate value and stay strong across all modes, while T1 units can support or fill specific roles depending on your team.
