Mongil Star Dive Reroll Guide – Priority Order Strategy

Starting fresh in Mongil: Star Dive can either feel smooth or frustrating depending on your first few pulls. That is exactly why rerolling matters here — not because you must do it, but because the game actually makes it quick enough to be worth trying for a strong start.

This guide keeps things simple and practical, covering who to aim for and two reroll methods depending on how much time you want to spend.

Mongil Star Dive Reroll Guide – Best Start Strategy

Rerolling in this game is mainly about getting a strong starting 5★ character early so your progression feels easier right from the beginning.

The important thing to understand is that:

  • None of the standard 5★ units are bad
  • Some are just more useful early on depending on the mode

If you are someone who likes optimizing, rerolling is worth it. If you just want to enjoy the game casually, you can honestly skip it and still progress fine.

Best Characters to Aim For

This is not about “only pick the top one,” but more about which characters give the easiest and most comfortable start.

Flare is the safest reroll target because she fills a role that is currently rare, acting as a Destroyer who can break boss stagger gauges efficiently, which makes early boss fights much easier even though her AoE is not the strongest.

Jiwon is a strong support but only if you are planning to use Wind characters like Sangun or Esther, since her entire kit revolves around boosting Wind damage, grouping enemies, and improving stamina usage.

Gabi is a solid Earth Fighter with good AoE through her attacks and a strong ultimate, and she benefits from good synergy with supports like Francis, making her a stable and flexible choice.

Sangun offers a very smooth gameplay experience due to his range and consistent AoE damage, which makes him one of the easiest characters to use effectively in both Story and Rift content.

Ophelia is a straightforward melee Fighter with fast combos and a simple but effective ultimate, though her close-range playstyle can feel slightly restrictive compared to ranged options.

Penny has fast cooldowns and decent AoE as a Lightning bow user, but her performance in boss fights is slightly weaker compared to other options, which lowers her priority for rerolling.

Important Warning

The system detects salted emails as non-unique, which means you cannot create multiple accounts that way.

Also, once you create a Netmarble account, the email cannot be changed later, so it is better to use proper separate emails if you plan to reroll.

Reroll Method 1 – Fast Route

This is the quickest and most efficient way to reroll.

  • Progress until “To The Monster Tamers!” quest
  • Unlock mail and pre-registration rewards
  • Access the Recruitment system
  • Claim all rewards
  • Pull on the New Expedition Banner (around 20 pulls)

If you get the character you want, you are done. If not, reset and repeat.

This method is best if you want to do multiple quick attempts without spending too much time.

Reroll Method 2 – Extended Route

This method takes longer but gives more chances at better pulls.

  • Progress until “Scrubs Up, Everyone” quest
  • Unlock the Events system
  • Claim event rewards and early achievements
  • Get 1–2 Compass of Destiny
  • Use them on the Limited Recruitment Banner

This gives you a few extra attempts at stronger or limited characters, making it better if you are targeting something specific.

Which Reroll Method Should You Use?

If you want speed and multiple tries, go with the first method since it is much faster and still gives a solid chance at a strong start.

If you are aiming for a specific character or want better odds at higher-value pulls, the second method is worth the extra time.

If you land Flare, Sangun, or Gabi, you already have a very strong start and can comfortably move forward without worrying too much.

If you get Jiwon, only keep the account if you are planning to build a Wind-based team, otherwise her value drops early.

The most important thing is not to get stuck rerolling endlessly — once you have a solid character, it is better to start progressing and building your team.
