Understanding gear and attributes in Farever is one of the biggest parts of improving your character properly. At first, the system can feel confusing because the game throws primary stats, secondary stats, armor values, scaling, weapon upgrades, and class combinations at you all together without fully explaining how they work.

A lot of players end up equipping random higher-rarity items without understanding whether those stats actually help their build. In reality, Farever’s gear system is much more focused on proper stat scaling and weapon synergy than simply equipping the highest rarity item you find.

This guide explains how attributes work, what each stat actually does, how gear scaling functions, and which stats you should prioritize depending on your class and build.

Primary Attributes Explained

There are currently five main primary attributes in Farever. Four of them are tied directly to the main classes, while Vitality is universal for everyone.

Vitality

Vitality is available for every class and increases your maximum HP. Every point gives roughly 3 HP, making it one of the safest and most reliable stats in the game.

Strength

Strength is mainly tied to Warrior-style builds and boosts physical scaling for abilities that rely on brute force damage.

Dexterity

Dexterity is the main Rogue attribute and improves scaling for faster physical attacks and mobility-focused skills.

Intellect

Intellect is the core Mage attribute and boosts magic-based damage abilities.

Faith

Faith is primarily linked to Priest builds and improves healing, support abilities, and certain magical skills.

Primary attributes mainly affect skill scaling and improve the effectiveness of your abilities directly. Most of your actual damage or healing comes from these stats rather than weapon rarity alone.

Secondary Attributes Explained

Secondary attributes are the stats that directly affect gameplay mechanics like crit chance, penetration, mitigation, and damage bonuses.

Unlike primary stats, secondary stats mostly come from:

  • Gear
  • Passives
  • Consumables
  • Certain weapon effects

The current system seems to scale based on level, meaning the same amount of a stat becomes weaker percentage-wise as your character level increases.

For example, early-game crit stats may feel extremely strong, but the same amount later gives a smaller percentage boost.

Critical Chance

Critical Chance increases the chance for your attacks or heals to critically strike.

Critical hits are currently one of the strongest stats in the game because they significantly boost both damage and healing output. Many builds prioritize crit early because of how efficient it feels overall.

Critical Bonus

Critical Bonus affects how strong your critical hits become after they trigger.

Crit Chance determines how often you crit, while Critical Bonus determines how much stronger those crits are.

Armor Penetration

Armor Penetration ignores part of an enemy’s physical defense.

This is extremely important for physical damage builds using Strength or Dexterity scaling because higher-level enemies begin stacking noticeable armor values.

Magic Penetration

Magic Penetration works similarly to Armor Penetration but applies to magical damage instead.

Mage and Priest builds benefit heavily from this stat later when fighting enemies with magic resistance.

Fervor

Fervor is one of the strongest all-around stats currently in the game because it increases:

  • Damage dealt
  • Healing done
  • Shield strength

while also slightly reducing incoming damage.

Because it affects multiple systems at once, many support and hybrid builds value Fervor very highly.

Block

Block affects how much damage is reduced when blocking attacks.

Current values are approximately:

  • Base block: 50%
  • Shield block: 60%
  • Perfect shield block: up to 85%

Perfect blocks are extremely important during difficult boss fights.

Dodge Chance

Dodge Chance gives attacks a chance to miss entirely.

While useful, dodge currently feels less reliable than defensive stats like armor or proper blocking because it depends on RNG.

Physical and Magical Mastery

These stats directly increase overall damage for their respective damage types.

  • Physical Mastery boosts physical damage
  • Magical Mastery boosts magical damage

These become stronger once your build already has good primary scaling.

Armor

Armor reduces incoming physical damage. The game currently uses a formula based on both armor value and enemy level.

Warrior gear naturally gives the highest armor values, while Mage and Priest gear provide much lower armor overall.

Each gear piece can provide three main types of stats:

Secondary Attributes

Crit, penetration, fervor, mastery, and other bonuses.

Green rarity gear mainly provides primary attributes only, while blue rarity and higher begin introducing secondary stats.

Gear Factions and Attribute Types

Different enemy factions influence which secondary stats appear on gear.

For example:

  • Kobold gear often leans toward Crit Chance
  • Crimson gear commonly provides Fervor
  • Bee gear may focus more on penetration stats

This means farming specific enemies can help target the exact secondary stats your build needs.

Armor Differences Between Classes

Not all armor types are equal.

Warrior gear naturally provides the highest defensive values, while Mage and Priest armor are much lighter.

Hybrid armor usually averages the values between both classes involved.

This means hybrid builds sacrifice some specialization for flexibility.

Weapon Stats Explained

Weapons follow similar stat rules to armor.

Green Weapons

Usually only provide primary attributes.

This opens the door for unique support, utility, or hybrid damage setups.

Best Stats

Based on current testing, Crit Chance appears to be one of the strongest overall secondary stats for most builds because it improves both offensive and healing performance very efficiently.

However, the best stat setup still depends heavily on:

  • Your weapon scaling
  • Your class
  • Whether you deal physical or magical damage
  • Your playstyle

In general:

  • Physical builds want penetration and mastery
  • Magical builds want magic penetration and mastery
  • Support builds benefit heavily from Fervor
  • Almost every build benefits from crit

Farever’s gear and attribute system is deeper than it first appears. Simply equipping higher rarity items is not enough if the stats do not support your scaling properly.
