Shards of Solitude Item Locations, Achievement Guide & MAP

Shards of Solitude doesn’t hold your hand. Between random item spawns, multiple endings, ritual puzzles, hidden interactions with Miyuki, and several missable achievements, it’s easy to finish your first playthrough while missing a large portion of what the game actually offers.

The good news is that once you understand how the factory is laid out and what items you should prioritize, unlocking every ending becomes much easier. This guide combines ending requirements, achievement unlocks, puzzle solutions, ritual mechanics, item locations, and useful tips into one complete walkthrough.

Shards of Solitude Map

The game takes place inside an abandoned factory complex divided into several major areas.

Based on the current map layout, the most important locations are:

Starting Room

This is where every run begins.

Important for:

  • Secret Ending
  • Generator lure strategy
  • Early Miyuki interactions

Electrical Room

Located near the Supply Tunnel section.

Important for:

  • Generator mechanics
  • Power control
  • Puzzle progression

Supply Tunnel

Connects several important sections of the map.

Useful for:

  • Faster navigation
  • Escaping Miyuki
  • Accessing puzzle rooms

Maintenance Tunnel

One of the larger side sections.

Common locations:

  • Crowbar
  • Notes
  • Random utility items

Processing Area

Large lower-left factory section.

Potential item spawns:

  • Pistol
  • Crowbar
  • Ritual tablets
  • Medkits

Cargo Area

Large lower-right section.

Common locations:

  • Flashlight
  • Pistol
  • Ritual items
  • Achievement-related pickups

Ritual Room

The most important room for multiple endings.

Contains:

  • Ritual Circle
  • Skull Cabinet
  • Painting Puzzle
  • Ending Progression

Exit Area

Requires:

  • Crowbar
  • Key

Used for:

  • Escape endings
  • Hard mode endings

Ritual Room Lock Codes

One of the most confusing parts for new players is the Ritual Room lock.

Fortunately, the code system isn’t completely random.

Current known code pairs are:

Code Pair
93 37
60 24
37 04
46 29

Useful Trick

If you discover one code, you immediately know the matching code.

For example:

Find 46

The matching code will always be 29.

If 46-29 doesn’t work:

Try 29-46.

This makes solving the lock significantly faster.

Important Items and Where They Spawn

Most items spawn randomly, but several locations appear frequently.

Crowbar Location

The Crowbar is one of the most important items in the game.

Required for:

  • Escape endings
  • Opening blocked exits
  • Several achievements

Common spawn locations:

  • Near the Exit
  • Maintenance corridors
  • Central crossroads
  • Processing area

Tip

Turn off your flashlight when searching.

The Crowbar is much easier to spot in darkness because fewer objects compete for attention.

Medkit Location

Required for:

  • Survival
  • Achievement unlock
  • Hard mode runs

Common spawn areas:

  • Cargo section
  • Processing section
  • Workshops
  • Central corridors

Use the Medkit only when safe.

Healing while Miyuki is nearby often leads to another hit immediately afterward.

Pistol Location

The Pistol can appear in several places.

Common locations:

  • Workshop
  • Generator Room
  • Cargo offices
  • Container area
  • Machinery section

Important Warning

Picking up the pistol alerts Miyuki.

On Normal difficulty this often changes her behavior immediately.

If you’re attempting certain achievements, avoid picking it up entirely.

Flashlight Attachment

This upgrade attaches to the pistol.

Common location:

  • Green container near the Exit

Not required for completion but useful during darker sections.

Generator Puzzle Explained

The generator is one of the first major progression requirements.

What It Does

Activating the generator:

  • Opens progression paths
  • Enables code discovery
  • Unlocks numbered rooms

Hidden Detail

The switch outside the flooded generator room disables electricity.

Many players mistakenly think the flooded water is always dangerous.

Flip the switch first and you’ll be able to cross safely.

How to Complete the Ritual

The Ritual route unlocks multiple endings.

You’ll need:

  • Three Ritual Tablets
  • Miyuki’s real name
  • Date of death

Finding Miyuki’s Real Name

Two Exorcist Notes spawn during every run.

One appears in each major area.

Their locations remain consistent.

However:

The information inside changes every playthrough.

Always read them carefully.

Write down:

  • Real Name
  • Date of Death

You’ll need both later.

First Ritual Trial

After entering Miyuki’s real name:

The first challenge begins.

Solution

Follow Miyuki’s voice.

The correct path is indicated by:

  • Audio cues
  • Light indicators

If you become lost:

Stop moving.

Listen carefully.

The voice direction is usually enough to guide you.

Second Ritual Trial

After passing the first challenge:

You’ll face three doors.

Each door represents a different individual.

Correct Choice

Choose the individual who knowingly caused harm.

The game frames this as a moral judgment test.

Selecting incorrectly forces another attempt.

Painting Puzzle Solution

Only available during the Liberation route.

Several paintings appear around the factory.

Locations include:

  • Container area
  • Maintenance corridor
  • Generator room
  • Machinery area
  • Catwalk near Ritual Room

The correct painting is hinted at through a poem found inside the Ritual Room.

Selecting the correct painting opens the cabinet containing the Skull.

Red World Walkthrough

After obtaining the Skull:

Show it to Miyuki.

The game transitions into a red-tinted version of the map.

Objective

Destroy four Hearts.

Each Heart:

  • Appears as a glowing red orb
  • Must be shot with the pistol
  • Changes location after destruction

Meanwhile:

Miyuki constantly chases you.

Typical Heart Route

Common sequence:

  1. Cargo Area
  2. Machinery Area
  3. Opposite Machinery Side
  4. Container Area
  5. Outdoor Exit Area

Locations may vary slightly.

Red World Survival Tips

Keep Moving

Standing still is a death sentence.

Follow Shockwaves

Heart pulses push your character.

These shockwaves actually reveal the Heart’s location.

Save Medkits

Only heal after creating distance.

Don’t Fight Miyuki

Focus entirely on objectives.

You can’t permanently stop her.

Miyuki Achievement Guide

Her Body Is Cold…

Approach Miyuki during Calm mode and hug her.

Nya!

Wait for her cat pose interaction.

Usually happens naturally.

I Trust You

Allow Miyuki to attack you.

Accept her healing item afterward.

Catch Miyuki In A Trap

Use a Rope Trap while she’s chasing you.

How Is It Still Working?

Use the Radio to distract her.

Meeting Point

Turn on the Generator.

Return to the Starting Room.

Wait for her ambush.

Better Luck Next Time

Fail Miyuki’s final choice event.

The Lucky One

Choose correctly during the same event.

Delaying The Inevitable

Use a Knife inside a locker after being discovered.

That Was Really Fast

Hard Difficulty only.

Allow Playful Mode Miyuki to catch you.

Achievement Run Strategy

For an easy Normal completion run:

Avoid:

  • Pistol
  • Radio
  • Traps
  • Trap Damage

Doing this unlocks:

  • I Don’t Need This
  • I Prefer Silence
  • Without Any Tricks
  • Traps? Never Heard Of Them

All in a single playthrough.

Hard Difficulty Tips

Hard mode changes Miyuki dramatically.

Expect Faster Aggression

She spends less time passive.

Listen Carefully

You may hear her speaking nearby.

Don’t panic.

If she was actually beside you, she’d already be attacking.

Find The Diary

The Diary temporarily repels Miyuki.

Common spawns:

  • Green containers
  • Workshop

This item becomes incredibly useful during Hard runs.
