The Neo Egoist League has always been one of the most interesting parts of Blue Lock Rivals, but the latest NEL 2.0 update changes the mode in ways that are much bigger than most players expected. This isn’t simply a new event with a few rewards attached to it. The developers have rebuilt the entire progression system around player performance, team development, career choices, and long-term goals.
When I first looked through the update notes, I thought the new team selection system would be the biggest feature. After spending more time with the update, it’s clear that everything is connected. Your position affects your performance. Your performance affects your stat grades. Your stat grades determine which teams become available. Those teams unlock different quests, perks, and progression opportunities.
For players who enjoy having something meaningful to work toward, NEL 2.0 is easily one of the most ambitious updates Blue Lock Rivals has received.
Blue Lock Rivals NEL Rework Event Update Guide – Quests
The old Neo Egoist League progression system has been replaced with a more career-focused structure.
Players now begin by selecting an academy, choosing a position, completing team objectives, improving personal statistics, earning offers from better clubs, and progressing through multiple questlines.
Several major features arrived with the update:
- Academy selection system
- Position specialization
- Team Hub progression
- Team perks
- Career offers
- Contract renewals
- Team questlines
- Stat grading system
- New recruitment requirements
- Main progression quests
- New chemical reactions
- Anti-cheat improvements
- Cosmetic rewards
The result is a mode that feels much closer to the actual Neo Egoist League from Blue Lock.
Choosing Your First Academy
One of the first decisions you’ll make is selecting your academy.
Unlike previous systems where everyone essentially followed the same path, your academy now serves as the foundation of your career.
The available academies include:
Arsenaly
Arsenaly sits in an interesting spot because it eventually requires decent performance levels without demanding elite statistics.
Players looking for balanced progression may find this academy a comfortable starting point.
Manshine City
Manshine City is one of the easiest teams to access and serves as a great option for players who are still learning the new system.
There are no difficult requirements attached, making it accessible to almost everyone.
Re Al
Re Al is the dream destination for many players.
However, it also has the toughest recruitment requirements in the entire update.
Joining Re Al isn’t something most players will achieve immediately. You’ll need outstanding performances across multiple categories before the club becomes available.
Barcha
Barcha remains one of the more welcoming academies.
Without strict recruitment barriers, players can focus on developing their skills rather than worrying about qualification requirements.
Ubers
Ubers follows a similar philosophy and provides a straightforward path into the Neo Egoist League experience.
PXG
PXG is aimed at players who consistently perform at a high level but may not yet meet the demanding standards of clubs like Re Al.
Bastard Munchen
Bastard Munchen remains one of the most prestigious organizations in the game.
Many players will eventually set this as their long-term goal due to its strong reputation and difficult recruitment requirements.
Position Selection Matters More Than Ever
The position system completely changes how progression works.
Rather than every player chasing the same statistics, each role now receives specialized bonuses.
This means your choice should reflect how you actually enjoy playing the game.
Striker
Stat Bonuses:
- Shooting
- Dribbling
Striker is built for players who want to be the star of the attack.
If you’re the type of player who constantly looks for scoring opportunities and enjoys carrying the offensive load, this role will probably feel the most natural.
The bonuses directly support aggressive playstyles and make it easier to excel in offensive categories.
Midfielder
Stat Bonuses:
- Passing
- Assists
Midfielders focus on creating opportunities rather than finishing them.
A good midfielder often controls the tempo of a match without receiving as much attention as a striker.
If you enjoy setting up teammates, controlling possession, and building attacks, this role offers a completely different experience from pure goal scoring.
Defender
Stat Bonuses:
- Steals
- Saves
Defenders finally receive meaningful progression rewards.
In older systems, many defensive actions felt undervalued compared to goals and assists.
NEL 2.0 changes that by rewarding players who consistently disrupt attacks, win possession, and protect their team.
For players who enjoy reading the game and shutting down opponents, Defender is now a genuinely rewarding option.
The New Ranking System
One of the most important changes in NEL 2.0 affects how rankings are calculated.
Passing no longer contributes to ranking progression.
This change might sound controversial initially, but it solves a major issue.
Previously, some players would repeatedly farm passes simply to inflate statistics and climb rankings.
The new system focuses on actions that directly influence match outcomes.
Important performance categories now include:
- Goals
- Assists
- Steals
- Saves
This creates a more competitive environment where impactful gameplay matters more than stat farming.
Understanding the New Stat Grades
Your career is now heavily influenced by performance grades.
Each category receives a ranking based on your average performance across matches.
The available grades are:
- S Rank
- A Rank
- B Rank
- C Rank
- D Rank
These ratings apply to several performance categories.
Offense
Measures attacking impact and offensive contributions.
Defense
Tracks defensive effectiveness and overall reliability.
Dribbling
Evaluates ball control and movement efficiency.
Shooting
Measures finishing ability and scoring performance.
Passing
Tracks distribution and playmaking effectiveness.
These grades aren’t just cosmetic. They directly determine which clubs will consider offering you a contract.
Team Recruitment Requirements
As your career progresses, stronger clubs become available.
However, recruitment is no longer automatic.
Each team evaluates your stat grades before making an offer.
Re Al Requirements
Required:
- 3 S-Rank Stats
This is currently the toughest requirement in the game.
Players must perform at an elite level across multiple categories.
Bastard Munchen Requirements
Required:
- 2 S-Rank Stats
- 1 A-Rank Stat
Still extremely challenging but slightly more achievable than Re Al.
PXG Requirements
Required:
- 1 S-Rank Stat
- 2 A-Rank Stats
PXG rewards well-rounded players who consistently perform at a high level.
Arsenaly Requirements
Required:
- 2 A-Rank Stats
- 1 B-Rank Stat
This serves as a more realistic goal for many developing players.
Ubers
No requirements.
Barcha
No requirements.
Manshine City
No requirements.
Team Hub Features
The Team Hub adds a significant amount of progression content.
Each team now feels like its own mini progression path rather than simply a cosmetic selection.
The Team Hub contains:
- Quests
- Leaderboards
- Perks
- Questlines
- Progress tracking
This gives players far more reasons to remain engaged with their chosen club.
Captain Quests
Captain Quests are repeatable activities that refresh every hour.
Because of their frequent reset timer, they provide one of the most reliable sources of ongoing progression.
Players actively grinding NEL should make these quests part of their regular routine.
Team Questlines
Each team comes with unique questlines.
Completing them unlocks exclusive rewards that cannot be obtained elsewhere.
Possible rewards include:
- Goal Effects
- Chat Tags
- Player Cards
These rewards give players an incentive to explore multiple teams rather than sticking with a single organization forever.
Team Perks
Every team now provides unique perks.
These bonuses help differentiate clubs beyond aesthetics and create additional strategic considerations when choosing your destination.
As the system expands, team perks may become one of the most important factors in deciding where to play.
Long-Term NEL Quests
Several major progression challenges have been introduced for dedicated players.
True Egoist
Objective:
Complete every team questline.
Reward:
Ego’s Portal Mythic Goal Effect
This is one of the most prestigious cosmetic rewards available through NEL 2.0.
NEL Champion
Objective:
Win 15 NEL Matches.
Reward:
5 Lucky Style Spins
Repeatable.
NEL Legend
Objective:
Earn MVP in 15 NEL Matches.
Reward:
10 Lucky Flow Spins
Repeatable.
NEL Prodigy
Objective:
Win 10 NEL Matches Consecutively.
Reward:
- 5 Lucky Style Spins
- 5 Lucky Flow Spins
Among the repeatable quests, this is arguably the most difficult.
New Career Offer System
The offer system is one of my favorite additions in the entire update.
Your performances now have long-term consequences.
Instead of automatically moving through predetermined progression paths, teams evaluate your statistics and determine whether you’re worthy of an offer.
This makes every match feel more important because your future opportunities depend on current performances.
A strong match no longer just means earning rewards today—it can also influence where your career goes tomorrow.
Contract Renewals
Contract Renewals allow players to remain with their current club.
This may not sound significant at first, but it’s actually a great feature.
Sometimes players genuinely enjoy their team’s identity, perks, or progression path and don’t want to leave immediately for another offer.
Now they have that option.
Bachira and Isagi Chemical Reaction
One of the most exciting additions in NEL 2.0 is the new Bachira and Isagi chemical reaction.
To activate it:
- Isagi must be awakened.
- Bachira uses Monster Shot toward Isagi.
- Bachira must be positioned near Isagi.
- Isagi’s Direct Shot transforms.
- A successful timing input triggers the cutscene.
The sequence is visually impressive and quickly becoming one of the most popular team combinations in the game.
Kiyora Improvements
Kiyora received several notable updates.
New visual effects and sound effects make awakening feel much more impactful than before.
The Borderline ability has also been reworked.
Players receiving the pass now gain access to a cinematic shot sequence, encouraging greater teamwork and coordination.
New Team Jerseys
Two new jerseys have been added.
Arsenaly Jersey
A brand-new uniform for Arsenaly players.
Re Al Jersey
A fresh design for Re Al supporters.
For players who enjoy representing their favorite club, these additions are a welcome bonus.
NEL 2.0 Codes
Make sure to redeem these while they’re active.
NELEVENT
Rewards:
- 5 Lucky Flow Spins
- 5 Lucky Style Spins
NEL2.0

- 5 Lucky Flow Spins
MASSIVEUPDATE
Rewards:
- 5 Lucky Style Spins
Rather than chasing the strongest club immediately, focus on building strong performance grades first.
Choose a position that matches your natural playstyle, consistently complete Captain Quests, work through team questlines, and gradually improve your stat rankings. Once your grades begin climbing into the A and S tiers, the better recruitment opportunities will start appearing naturally.
The biggest mistake players can make is focusing entirely on rewards while ignoring performance development. NEL 2.0 is designed around long-term progression, and players who consistently perform well across multiple matches will benefit far more than those simply trying to rush through the system.
