Nophenia is one of those games that rewards curiosity more than speed. Instead of giving you clear objectives, it drops you into strange dreamlike locations and lets you explore at your own pace. Some places are peaceful, others are unsettling, and almost every area hides a different way forward.
If you’re trying to reach the ending, unlock every achievement, or simply stop getting lost, this guide covers everything you need. While this walkthrough explains where every exit is located, I still recommend taking your time whenever you enter a new area. The atmosphere and small details are a huge part of what makes Nophenia memorable.
Nophenia Guide Wiki – All Areas, Achievements, Secrets
Your journey begins inside your bedroom. At first glance it looks like a simple starting room, but there’s actually a surprising amount you can do here before leaving. In fact, you can unlock most of the game’s achievements without ever opening the bedroom door.
Before heading out, spend a few minutes exploring everything in the room. Open your phone, interact with objects, and test different controls. This will save you time later.
Bedroom Achievements
Meow
Open your phone by pressing Esc, then go to Options and scroll down until you find Kitty.
Press the meow button 200 times to unlock this achievement.
Awoo
Press H to howl.
You’ll need to howl 201 times, so this one takes a little patience.
Boredom…
Jump on your own bed 522 times.
There are other beds throughout the game, but only your bedroom bed counts for this achievement.
Meat
Near your bed and television you’ll notice a piece of meat on the floor.
Simply step or jump onto it.
Another Memory
Open your phone.
Go to Options, then Camera, and press Space to take your first photo.
Smile
While the camera is open, press M.
Your character smiles, instantly unlocking the achievement.
Sleepyhead
Press C to crouch and eventually fall asleep.
Remain asleep for approximately 12.4 minutes without moving.
…?
This is the only achievement you cannot reliably earn in the bedroom.
A mysterious girl can randomly appear somewhere during your adventure. She has a very low spawn rate, so don’t worry if you don’t find her immediately. Just keep playing normally and you’ll eventually encounter her.
Helpful Gameplay Tip
Before starting your adventure, open the settings and enable Auto Run under the General options.
Since you’ll spend most of the game walking through large environments, Auto Run makes exploration much more comfortable because you won’t have to keep holding the Shift key.
Main Areas
Every location in Nophenia has its own appearance and its own way of progressing. Some exits are obvious, while others require walking through looping environments until something changes.
Below is every major area and the easiest way to find the exit.
Train Station
When you arrive at the train station, simply follow the train along the platform.
Eventually you’ll reach a door waiting beside the tracks. Enter it to continue.
Snowy Residence
Stay on the snowy path instead of wandering through the open space.
After walking for a short distance you’ll notice a large concrete sewer pipe on your left side. That’s your exit.
Snowy Quarters
This is one of the most confusing locations because several buildings look important even though they aren’t.
Ignore both the gate behind your starting point and the small playground building.
Instead, continue walking between the long road and the playground. After you’ve looped around the area once or twice, a door will eventually appear there.
If you hear whispering while exploring, don’t worry—it’s simply one of the area’s creepy ambient effects.
Rainy Homeside
This neighborhood loops endlessly if you keep following the street.
Continue walking in one direction and eventually a doorway will appear along one of the sidewalks. Go through it to move on.
Waterpark
The waterpark is fairly large, but the route is straightforward once you know where to go.
Start by heading toward the widest doorway on the left side of the first pool.
Keep moving forward until you reach the shower room, where you’ll notice some strange blood stains that seem to avoid the camera.
Continue into the children’s pool area.
Once there, head toward the darker side of the room and look along the right wall for the exit doors.
Lavender Field
Because this area is almost completely dark, many players miss the exit several times.
From where you spawn, walk almost directly forward toward the center of the flower field.
You’re looking for a large rock that’s slightly illuminated by moonlight.
If you’ve already wandered away from the starting position, simply search around the middle of the field until you notice the rock sticking above the flowers.
Rose Swing
This is one of the game’s most beautiful locations.
Thankfully, it’s also one of the easiest.
Walk straight ahead from where you begin and you’ll reach the exit almost immediately.
Garage Settlement
Head directly toward the large tree in the middle of the area.
Once you reach it, turn left, then make the next right.
Near the back corner you’ll find a red garage with an open doorway. Walk inside to continue.
Homeside
Follow the sidewalk until you reach the main street.
Turn left and continue walking until you spot a portable toilet decorated with balloons.
As strange as it looks, that’s actually the exit.
Vision
Look for the hot air balloon near the road.
Move to the left side of the road, passing the nearby rocks.
The doorway is hidden there.
Hills
Simply follow the dirt path until you reach a strawberry-shaped house.
The house serves as the exit.
Sunflowers
Stay on the main path while walking through the sunflower field.
Near the power lines you’ll find a rock hidden among the flowers.
Interact with it to leave the area.
Spider Lilies
This location doesn’t provide many landmarks.
Choose one direction and continue walking.
Eventually you’ll come across the exit door naturally.
Like Snowy Quarters, you’ll hear unsettling whispers as you approach it.
Park
Find the large windmills first.
Once you reach them, walk around the opposite side of the nearby tree.
The exit waits there.
Quarters
Walk through the long red hallway until it opens into a grassy field.
The exit is located directly across from where you entered.
Background
Leave the cave and immediately turn right.
The door is waiting outside.
Apartment Overlook
This area is partly random.
Try opening every interactive apartment door you can find.
If none of them work, slide down the playground slide and try the doors again.
Eventually one will allow you through.
Murky Lot
Walk toward the far end of the parking garage.
You’ll discover a door leading outside.
After exiting the garage, cross the parking lot and board the bus to continue your journey.
Desert
Walk along the road until you find the large boulder.
The exit is hidden behind it.
Shore
The name is a little misleading.
Instead of searching the beach, walk toward the opposite end of the road where you began.
That’s where you’ll find the exit.
Digital Nurture
In the middle of the room you’ll notice a giant beating heart.
Follow the large vein extending behind it.
Keep following it until it ends, where you’ll discover the exit.
Dandelion
There isn’t a physical door here.
Simply keep running in one direction.
After approximately four or five repeating loops, the game automatically transitions to the next area.
Astral Frequency
This surreal area has one very obvious landmark.
The rotating red rhombus floating nearby acts as the exit.
Walk into it.
Maze
Although it sounds intimidating, this maze is actually much simpler than it first appears.
A reliable strategy is to keep your character against the right wall.
Following this method eventually leads you through a white room, then into a camouflage-colored hallway.
Continue staying on the right until you enter a long dark hallway that opens into a wider purple room.
Turn right again.
Soon you’ll notice an opening containing a floating smiley face.
That’s the exit.
Normal Tree
Like Dandelion, there isn’t a door.
Walk continuously in one direction.
After the tree repeats itself around three times, you’ll automatically move to the next location.
Cubic Meadows
Look for the unfinished wooden square structure.
A doorway nearby leads into another section.
After passing through it, climb toward the house sitting on the hill to your right.
Its door is the exit.
Gutter
Stay beside the flowing water.
Eventually turn right into the reddish hallway.
At the end you’ll find a sewer pipe that continues the adventure.
Time
Another automatic progression area.
Keep jumping across the floating clocks in one direction.
After roughly 30 to 50 jumps, you’ll transition automatically.
Chess
Search the large collection of oversized chess pieces.
You’ll notice one section illuminated by blue light and another by red.
Go toward the blue-lit area.
The large pawn underneath the blue light serves as the exit.
Red Moon
Even though this area looks enormous, it actually loops quite quickly.
Find the playground slide.
Nearby you’ll see a hill beside a large beam.
The exit door appears there.
Red Ash
Locate the blue machine first.
Cross to the opposite side of the river.
If the doorway hasn’t appeared yet, continue around the loop once before checking again.
Warehouse
The first doors you encounter are fake.
Instead, explore the right side of the warehouse until you discover what look like restroom doors.
Enter the left bathroom door.
That’s the real exit.
Pipedream
Walk toward the large pink and blue pipes.
Inside you’ll find a light blue pipe with an opening.
Enter the pipe to continue.
Depths
From your starting position, move toward the large structure on the left.
The exit sits just beyond it.
Realistic Fields
There isn’t an exit door here.
Simply continue walking in one direction until the game automatically loads the next location.
Reaching the Ending
Once you’ve completed every main area, the game’s title screen appears again.
You’ll wake up back inside your bedroom.
Leave your room one final time to discover the last area.
Here you’ll meet a mysterious companion and officially finish the game.
After completing the ending, you have two choices.
Selecting End Program closes the game normally.
Choosing Forget resets your exploration progress, allowing you to experience every area again from the beginning.
Hidden Secrets
Nophenia contains plenty of secrets beyond the main progression.
Some are extremely rare, while others only appear if you experiment with different mechanics.
The ??? Areas
Some players have reported being randomly transported into strange locations simply called ???.
These areas often resemble darker or bloodier versions of existing maps.
There usually isn’t much to do besides walking around until your character eventually dies.
Because these areas seem to appear randomly, not every player encounters them during a normal playthrough.
Fog
Players who visit the mysterious ??? areas sometimes enter another hidden location afterward.
This area is nothing but endless fog.
After wandering for a short time, the game automatically sends you back to your bedroom while resetting your exploration progress.
Phone Messages
Your phone doesn’t always behave normally.
Sometimes it has signal, while other times it completely loses connection.
If you check it regularly, you may eventually notice unsettling messages such as:
- “You killed me…”
- “Murderer…”
These appear randomly and help build the game’s unsettling atmosphere.
Alternative Area Names
Several locations occasionally appear under different names.
For example:
- Bedroom may appear as safe_space.
- Digital Nurture can become screentime.
- The End may instead be called another_home.
These name changes don’t affect gameplay, but they’re interesting details worth noticing.
The Friend at the End
When you reach the final area, you’ll meet a mysterious friend.
If you try taking a photograph of her, she’ll disappear.
However, if you press M to smile while your camera is open, she’ll appear again.
It’s a small interaction that many players completely miss during their first playthrough.
Nophenia isn’t a difficult game, but it can definitely be confusing. Many areas intentionally loop, hide exits in unexpected places, or require patience before allowing you to progress. If you ever feel stuck, remember that the game often expects you to keep walking rather than searching every corner.
Don’t rush from one exit to another. Spend some time listening to the ambient sounds, reading strange phone messages, and appreciating each environment. The mysterious atmosphere is the real highlight of Nophenia, and many of its best moments happen when you slow down and simply explore.
