Looking Up I See Only A Ceiling The Recall DLC Guide

The Recall is a free DLC for Looking Up I See Only A Ceiling that adds a brand-new story along with five additional achievements. The DLC is fairly short, but a couple of the achievements are missable if you interact with the wrong object too early or skip examining important details.

If you’re aiming for 100% completion, this guide will walk you through every achievement in the order you’ll naturally earn them. Most can be unlocked in a single playthrough as long as you explore carefully and pay attention to your surroundings.

Your New Home

This is the first achievement you’ll unlock and it’s impossible to miss.

At the beginning of the DLC, you’ll find yourself in a room with a television and three VHS tapes. Before progressing, interact with all three tapes and watch each recording completely. Every tape provides a bit of story and helps set up the events that follow.

Once you’ve viewed all three tapes, continue playing normally. As soon as the next scene begins, the Your New Home achievement will unlock automatically.

There isn’t anything complicated here, but make sure you don’t accidentally skip one of the tapes before moving forward.

Attention to Detail

This is the easiest achievement to miss, so it’s worth slowing down and exploring everything before progressing.

Throughout the early part of the DLC, interact with every object that allows you to examine it. If something looks interesting, click on it at least once. The game expects you to thoroughly inspect your surroundings before continuing.

One important thing to remember is that opening the kitchen door advances the story. After doing so, you won’t be able to return to the earlier area to check anything you missed. Because of this, it’s best to inspect every object before interacting with the kitchen door.

There are two objects that must be examined more than once:

  • The handprint on the window should be inspected when you first enter the hallway. Later, after meeting the man who owns the house, return and examine the same handprint again.
  • The painting also needs two interactions. Examine it the first time you discover it, then return to it after the kitchen cutscene later in the story.

If you’ve checked every available interaction correctly, the Attention to Detail achievement will unlock before you’re required to open the kitchen door.

If it doesn’t unlock, you’ve probably missed one of the optional interactions and will need another playthrough.

Like an Artist

You’ll naturally set this achievement up while working toward Attention to Detail.

After the kitchen sequence finishes, head back into the hallway instead of immediately continuing with the story. Walk over to the painting you examined earlier and interact with it again.

A brand-new scene will play that wasn’t available before. Let the entire sequence finish without skipping it.

Once the scene ends, the Like an Artist achievement will unlock.

Many players miss this because they continue forward instead of returning to the hallway, so remember to backtrack after the kitchen event.

6 Days to Go

This achievement requires answering a question correctly later in the DLC.

After leaving through the kitchen door, you’ll eventually reach another VHS tape that asks you a question. The tricky part is that the question isn’t always the same. It appears to be selected randomly, meaning different players may receive different prompts.

Because of this, it’s important to pay attention to everything you see while exploring. Small environmental details, story elements, and objects you’ve previously examined may become the correct answer.

For example, one possible question references the handprint on the window, so remembering details from earlier in the level is important.

If you answer correctly, you’ll immediately unlock the 6 Days to Go achievement.

If you happen to get the answer wrong, you’ll need another playthrough to try again, so taking your time and observing everything during your first run is highly recommended.

I Need 7 Days To Think About It

This is the final achievement in the DLC and is thankfully unmissable.

Simply continue playing through the rest of the story until you reach the ending. After the final cutscene finishes, the I Need 7 Days To Think About It achievement will unlock automatically.

There’s nothing special you need to do here other than complete the DLC.

Tips for a One-Run 100% Completion

If you’d like to unlock all five achievements in a single playthrough, keep these tips in mind:

  • Watch all three VHS tapes before leaving the starting room.
  • Examine every object you can interact with before opening the kitchen door.
  • Inspect both the handprint and the painting twice during the appropriate story moments.
  • Return to the hallway after the kitchen scene to interact with the painting again.
  • Pay close attention to environmental details so you can answer the VHS question correctly later.
  • Finish the story to automatically receive the final achievement.

Following these steps should allow you to earn every achievement in The Recall DLC without needing multiple playthroughs. While the DLC is short, taking your time to explore each room and interact with everything makes the experience much more enjoyable and ensures you won’t miss any of its hidden achievements.
