If you’re trying to unlock the “How Cute” achievement in Sovereign Tower, the important thing is that you can’t simply stumble into it by completing the Moonvale quest normally.
There are a couple of things you need to have set up first, and the biggest one is Arron. You also need to take the empathy route when the baby dragon appears instead of killing it.
The good news is that the requirements aren’t too complicated once you know what you’re looking for. Here’s exactly how to get the achievement and what you unlock alongside it.
Sovereign Tower How to Get the “How Cute” Achievement – Dragon Pet Guide
Before attempting the achievement, make sure you have:
- Arron available
- Arron must not have eaten the Dragon Heart
- Enough Empathy
- Access to Act III
- The Moonvale quest line available
The Dragon Heart requirement is especially important. If Arron has already eaten the Dragon Heart, you won’t be able to follow the route needed for this achievement.
So if you’re planning on getting the dragon pet for Arron, check this before progressing too far.
Start the Moonvale Quest in Act III
Once you’re in Act III, begin the third mission for Moonvale.
This is where the important choice appears.
When you encounter the baby dragon, you’ll have an option involving killing it and another option that follows the Empathy route.
For the achievement, you want to choose the Empathy option.
Don’t kill the baby dragon.
Choosing empathy changes the quest that follows and puts you on the path toward getting Arron his little dragon companion.
Accept the Dragon Quest
After choosing the empathy route, you’ll receive a different quest.
This is the quest you need to accept to continue the achievement path.
When you’re choosing who to send, take Arron with you.
Yes, even if Arron dislikes the quest.
His participation is required for the unique outcome that leads to the dragon pet.
This is one of those situations where trying to optimize the quest purely around who likes or dislikes it can actually send you in the wrong direction. For this particular achievement, Arron needs to be involved.
Get the Unique Outcome With Arron
Complete the quest with Arron.
The important part is that the quest resolves through its unique outcome.
Afterward, you’ll get an audience with Arron. During this scene, Arron asks whether he can keep the dragon.
That’s the moment you’ve been working toward.
Allowing this route to play out leads to the “How Cute” achievement.
So the basic path is:
Act III → Moonvale mission → Choose Empathy → Accept the new quest → Bring Arron → Get the unique outcome → Arron asks to keep the dragon → Achievement
Arron’s New Dragon Knight Perk
The achievement isn’t the only reward.
After completing this route, Arron receives a new perk called Dragon Knight.
The perk provides:
A small bonus on any quest, doubled if the quest involves combat.
That’s a pretty nice bonus for Arron because it gives him an advantage without the downside attached to some of his other abilities.
It’s somewhat similar to his Berserk perk, except Dragon Knight doesn’t have the same drawback on quests that don’t involve combat.
