Abys Orbit Beginner Guide – 15 Tips for Fast Progression

Starting Abys Orbit can be overwhelming when you first see all the ships, lasers, shields, drones, generators, ammunition, CPUs, and other equipment available. Fortunately, you don’t need to upgrade everything at once.

The best way to progress is to explore the maps, complete quests, collect resources, upgrade your ship gradually, and invest your Credits and Orbidium carefully.

Abys Orbit Beginner Guide – 15 Tips for Fast Progression

This Abys Orbit beginner guide covers the most important things you should focus on, from your first upgrades to the eventual goal of getting the SOVEREIGN.

1. Explore the Maps and Complete Quests

Your quests should be one of your main priorities during the early game.

Keep your quests active while you’re exploring, fighting NPCs, collecting resources, and upgrading your ship. Quests can reward you with useful resources such as:

  • XP
  • Credits
  • Orbidium
  • Ammunition
  • Other useful rewards

Instead of traveling around without an objective, try to combine your exploration with your current quests. This allows you to make progress toward multiple goals at the same time.

As you become familiar with the different maps, you’ll also learn which areas are safer and which ones contain stronger enemies.

2. Collect Bonus Boxes

While traveling between locations, keep an eye out for Bonus Boxes.

These can provide additional:

  • Credits
  • Orbidium
  • Ammunition
  • Other useful resources

They may seem insignificant individually, but collecting them consistently gives you extra resources without requiring additional farming.

Whenever you’re traveling across a map, take a moment to collect nearby boxes if doing so doesn’t put your ship in unnecessary danger.

3. Work Toward Better Ships

Your ship is the foundation of your progression in Abys Orbit.

As you earn more Credits and improve your equipment, start working toward stronger ships. A better ship gives you a stronger foundation for farming, exploration, PvP, and more difficult content.

Don’t feel pressured to immediately obtain the best ship available. Instead, upgrade progressively.

A simple progression is:

Starter Ship → Better Ship → Stronger Equipment → Endgame Ship

The important thing is to keep improving rather than spending all your resources on one upgrade while neglecting everything else.

4. Upgrade Your Lasers

Your lasers determine a large part of your offensive power, so upgrading them should be a priority.

The basic progression is:

LC-1 → LC-2 → LC-3

As you progress through these laser tiers, you’ll gain more damage and become better equipped to fight stronger NPCs.

Eventually, LC-3 Lasers should become one of your major equipment goals.

When possible, look for opportunities to obtain better lasers through the Trade or Auction House instead of wasting valuable Orbidium on equipment that can be purchased with Credits.

5. Use the Auction House and Trade System

The Auction House / Trade system can be extremely useful for progression.

Instead of relying entirely on normal drops or spending Orbidium, check what other players are offering.

Depending on availability, you can bid with Credits for things such as:

  • Ships
  • LC-3 Lasers
  • Shield Generators
  • Speed Generators
  • Drones
  • Extras
  • Other equipment

Make checking the market part of your progression routine.

You may find equipment that would otherwise take a long time to obtain.

6. Upgrade Your Shield Generators

Damage isn’t the only thing that matters.

You also need enough survivability to comfortably explore maps and fight NPCs.

Shield Generators improve your ability to survive encounters, making them an important part of your build.

Stronger shields are particularly useful when:

  • Farming NPCs
  • Exploring dangerous maps
  • Completing quests
  • Fighting stronger enemies
  • Escaping dangerous encounters
  • Participating in PvP

Try to maintain a reasonable balance between offensive and defensive equipment instead of putting everything into damage.

7. Upgrade Your Speed Generators

Speed Generators are another important upgrade.

Higher speed allows you to move between locations more quickly and can make a huge difference when you’re trying to escape enemies or chase targets.

Speed is useful for:

  • Map exploration
  • Questing
  • NPC farming
  • Escaping enemies
  • Chasing targets
  • PvP

Don’t underestimate mobility. A ship that can quickly move in and out of dangerous situations can be much easier to use than one that simply has higher damage.

8. Get Drones

Once you have access to drones, start working toward adding them to your setup.

Drones provide additional equipment slots, allowing you to equip more Lasers and Shield Generators.

This means drones can improve both your offensive and defensive capabilities.

As you progress, continue adding and improving your drones. They become increasingly valuable as your equipment gets stronger.

Your long-term setup should include:

  • Strong Lasers
  • Strong Shield Generators
  • Multiple Drones
  • Useful Extras
  • Good mobility

9. Use Extras and CPUs

Extras / CPUs provide useful utility effects that can make everyday gameplay much easier.

Some useful options include:

  • Repair Bot
  • Auto Repair CPU
  • Ammunition CPU
  • Auto Rocket CPU
  • Rocket Launcher CPU
  • Slot CPU
  • Cargo Bay Expansion
  • Other utility CPUs

For example, an Ammunition CPU can automatically purchase ammunition when needed, reducing the amount of manual management required.

Other Extras can improve repairs, rockets, inventory capacity, or equipment management.

Many useful Extras can also be obtained through Trade / Auction, so don’t assume you need to obtain everything through normal progression.

10. Keep Your Ammunition Stocked

Running out of ammunition at the wrong time can completely interrupt your farming session.

Try to maintain a healthy ammunition supply and use your ammunition efficiently.

If you have an Ammunition CPU, use it to automatically restock your preferred ammunition when necessary.

You should also avoid wasting your strongest ammunition on weak NPCs.

A good approach is:

Normal Ammo → Regular Farming

Stronger Ammo → Difficult Enemies and Important Fights

This helps you maintain your resources while still having powerful ammunition available when you actually need it.

11. Farm NPCs While Exploring

Don’t separate exploration and farming into completely different activities.

Whenever you’re traveling through an area, fight NPCs that your ship can comfortably defeat.

This allows you to earn additional:

  • XP
  • Credits
  • Resources
  • Quest progress

The key word is comfortably.

If an NPC takes too long to defeat or can easily destroy your ship, move to a weaker target. Efficient farming isn’t necessarily about fighting the strongest enemy available. It’s about getting good rewards without wasting time or constantly dying.

12. Save Your Orbidium

One of the most important beginner tips is to avoid wasting Orbidium.

Before spending Orbidium on equipment, check whether the same item can be obtained through Credits, Trade, or the Auction House.

If you can buy something with Credits instead, it may be better to save your Orbidium for upgrades or other purchases that provide more meaningful progression.

Think carefully before every major Orbidium purchase.

Your early resources can disappear surprisingly quickly if you’re constantly spending them on temporary equipment.

13. Join a Clan

Joining a Clan can make progression much easier.

Other players can help you learn the maps, complete quests, farm enemies, obtain equipment, and understand the game’s systems.

Clans can also be useful for:

  • Questing
  • NPC farming
  • PvP
  • Equipment
  • Map knowledge
  • General progression

If you’re playing regularly, joining an active Clan is usually much more beneficial than playing completely alone.

14. Start Doing Galaxy Gates

Once your ship and equipment become stronger, start working on Galaxy Gates.

You don’t need to rush into them with weak equipment. Build a solid foundation first by upgrading your ship, weapons, shields, speed, drones, and Extras.

Once you’re strong enough, Galaxy Gates can provide additional rewards and become another important part of your progression.

A good progression path is:

Quests → Farming → Equipment Upgrades → Stronger Ship → Galaxy Gates

This prevents you from entering difficult content before you’re ready.

15. Endgame Goal: SOVEREIGN

For long-term players, one of the biggest goals is obtaining the SOVEREIGN.

Getting there requires building up your ship and equipment over time.

Your long-term priorities should include:

  • Strong ship
  • LC-3 Lasers
  • Powerful Shield Generators
  • Speed Generators
  • Drones
  • Useful Extras
  • Large Credit reserves

Continue farming and saving Credits so you’re ready when the opportunity to bid on a SOVEREIGN appears through the Trade / Auction House.

Don’t expect to reach this goal immediately. Treat it as a long-term progression target.
