Fisch Sei Whale Hunt Update – Codes, Crew Rankings

A new minor Fisch Sei Whale Hunt Update has arrived in Fisch, adding a few exciting features while also fixing a long list of bugs and quality-of-life issues. The biggest addition is the new Sei Whale Migration Hunt, which gives you a chance to encounter a massive whale during specific weather conditions.

The update also introduces new Crew ranking statues, a new Sunshell surfboard, Celestial Rod mastery, and several changes that should make the overall game smoother. There are also some useful fixes for events, treasure maps, Lullaby buffs, boats, and more.

In this guide, I’ll go through everything added and changed in this Fisch update, including the new whale hunt, Crew rankings, Crimson Tides surfboard, Celestial Rod mastery, and the important fixes you should know about.

Fisch Sei Whale Hunt Update – Codes, Crew Rankings

The main feature of this update is the Sei Whale Migration Hunt.

Sei Whales can now appear in Fisch during Windy Nights, giving you a new opportunity to hunt one of these massive creatures.

Unlike normal fishing encounters, you’ll be going up against a solitary Sei Whale that skims across the surface of the water.

How to Find the Sei Whale

To encounter a Sei Whale, you’ll need to be playing during a Windy Night.

Keep an eye on the water during this weather condition because the whale can appear as part of the migration hunt.

Once you spot one, you’ll have the opportunity to test your fishing skills and try to hook it.

Be Careful When Hooking the Whale

The Sei Whale isn’t going to stay still once you hook it.

When the whale becomes worried, it will speed away, making the fight more challenging.

You’ll need to react quickly and manage the encounter carefully if you want to successfully land it.

Crew Statues and Monthly Rankings

New Crew Statues have been placed near the Crew Herald.

These statues are designed to showcase the top crews from the monthly rankings.

You can now keep track of the best crews across four different categories.

Total Catches

This category ranks crews based on their Total Catches.

The more fish your Crew catches, the better your position can become on this leaderboard.

Rarest Catch

The Rarest Catch category focuses on the rarest fish caught by a Crew.

If your Crew specializes in hunting extremely rare fish, this is one ranking you’ll want to keep an eye on.

Crew Rating

The Crew Rating category ranks crews according to their overall Crew rating.

This gives competitive players another leaderboard to work toward each month.

Biggest Fish

The final category is Biggest Fish, which tracks crews based on the largest fish they’ve caught.

So, if your Crew is focused on landing massive fish, you’ll have another way to compete for a top ranking.

Monthly Bobber Trophies

Top-performing crews can also earn exclusive engraved monthly bobber trophies.

These trophies provide a way to show off your Crew’s achievements and prove that you finished near the top of the monthly rankings.

If you’re part of a competitive Crew, these new rankings give you another reason to keep fishing throughout the month.

New Crimson Tides Surfboard

A new item has been added to the Sunshell Merchant.

The Crimson Tides is a new surfboard that you can use to glide across the waves.

You’ll need to exchange a sizeable amount of Sunshells to purchase it, so you’ll want to save up if you want to add it to your collection.

The surfboard is also useful for getting around the beach more conveniently.

Celestial Rod Mastery

The Celestial Rod now has its own mastery progression.

This gives Celestial Rod users another goal to work toward and lets you further develop the rod by progressing through its mastery.

If you’ve already been using the Celestial Rod regularly, you can now continue working toward its new mastery.

Companion Skins Can Now Be Traded

A useful change in this update is that Companion Skins are now tradable.

This gives you more flexibility when collecting and exchanging companion cosmetics.

If you’ve been holding onto duplicate Companion Skins, you can now trade them with other players.

Update Shutdown Improvements

The way the game handles update-related shutdowns has also been improved.

When Fisch shuts down for an update, you’ll now be returned to your original location afterward instead of being sent through the title screen again.

This should make reconnecting after updates much smoother.

Private Server State Persistence

There is an additional improvement for Private Servers.

Important server state, such as active events and weather, will now persist when the server shuts down for an update.

That means you shouldn’t have to completely restart your setup just because an update temporarily took the server offline.

Lullaby Buff Changes

Lullaby buffs are no longer automatically lost when you rejoin the game.

However, they now have a hard-capped duration of 8 hours.

So, while you can reconnect without immediately losing the buff, you still won’t be able to keep it indefinitely.

Rotblooms and Witherblooms

Rotblooms and Witherblooms will no longer despawn simply because nobody is nearby.

This is a useful change for players who need to leave an area temporarily.

You won’t have to worry as much about returning to find that these resources have disappeared just because you weren’t standing nearby.

Blight Idol and Toxic Mushroom Credits

The game will now properly credit players in announcements when they interact with certain items.

When a Blight Idol is consumed or a Toxic Mushroom is interacted with, the responsible player will now be identified in the announcement.

This makes it clearer who triggered the event or interaction.

Treasure Chest Fixes

Several issues with Treasure Chests not appearing correctly have been fixed.

If you’ve previously encountered situations where a Treasure Chest should have appeared but didn’t, those problems should now be improved.

Treasure Map Capacity Increased

The maximum number of Treasure Maps you can hold has been increased significantly.

The cap has gone from:

25 → 50 Treasure Maps

This is especially useful if you’re an active treasure hunter who was constantly hitting the previous inventory limit.

Faster Wisps

Wisps have received a significant speed increase when traveling toward a Wisp Haunt.

They should now reach their destination much faster, making these interactions less tedious.

Silly Seal Level Scaling Fixed

The developers have once again fixed the Silly Seal’s level scaling.

This is another correction to ensure the creature’s scaling behaves as intended.

Console Harpoon Gun Changes

Console players get an important improvement to the Harpoon Gun minigame.

During the minigame, PULL buttons now take priority over other buttons.

This should make the controls more responsive and reduce accidental inputs when you’re trying to pull in your catch.

Undiscovered Fish on the Deep Survey Device

The Deep Survey Device now displays undiscovered fish as:

???

Previously, the device could reveal information in a way that wasn’t ideal for fish you hadn’t discovered yet.

Now, undiscovered entries are clearly marked with question marks, making it easier to distinguish them from fish you’ve already found.

Cosmic Relic Chance Fixed

The update also fixes an issue involving the Cosmic Relic chance on the Stellar buff.

This should ensure the chance is being calculated correctly.

Improved New Player Onboarding

The developers have made significant improvements to the onboarding experience.

This includes various bug fixes and other changes designed to make it easier for new players to understand the game and get started.

If you’re new to Fisch, the early-game experience should now be smoother than before.

Shipwright Boat Purchase Fix

There’s also a small but useful fix for purchasing boats.

Buying a boat through the Shipwright will no longer immediately kick you out of the menu.

This should make buying and managing boats less frustrating.

Fischfest Ending Soon

The update announcement also reminds players that Fischfest is ending soon.

So, if there are any Fischfest activities, rewards, or items you still want to collect, now is a good time to finish them before the event ends.

New Code: SkycrestNextWeek

There’s also a new code available:

SkycrestNextWeek

Make sure you redeem the code while it’s active so you don’t miss out on its reward.

The announcement also teases Skycrest next week, so it looks like there’s more content on the way.

This may be called a minor Fisch update, but there are quite a few useful additions and fixes packed into it.

The Sei Whale Migration Hunt is definitely the biggest new feature, especially for players who enjoy chasing rare encounters. The new Crew leaderboards also give competitive players something new to work toward each month, while the Crimson Tides surfboard and Celestial Rod mastery add more progression and collection goals.

On top of that, the various quality-of-life improvements should make Fisch smoother to play, particularly the increased Treasure Map cap, persistent Private Server state, tradable Companion Skins, and improved onboarding.

Don’t forget to redeem SkycrestNextWeek and finish up anything you want from Fischfest before the event ends.
