How to Change Your Loadout in Crimson Moon

If you want to change your weapons, armor, or other equipment in Crimson Moon, there’s one important thing to know: you can only change your loadout between runs. You won’t be able to open your loadout and completely change your setup in the middle of a run.

In this post, I’ll show you where to go and what you need to do to change your loadout. Once you know where the Crystal is located, the process is pretty simple.

You can also save multiple setups instead of changing everything manually every time. Crimson Moon gives you five loadout slots, so you can prepare different builds for different situations.

How to Change Your Loadout in Crimson Moon

To change your loadout, follow these steps:

  1. Return to Sanctus Clypeus
  2. Select a mission at the War Table
  3. Use the Crystal to change your loadout

Let’s go through each step.

Return to Sanctus Clypeus

The first thing you need to do is return to Sanctus Clypeus, which is the hub area.

You can only access the full loadout menu after ending your current run. If you’re already in the middle of a run, you won’t be able to completely change your equipped setup between missions.

There are a few ways to end your run. You can lose your entire Life Pool and die, or you can open the menu and choose Abandon Run or End Session.

Keep in mind that successfully completing a mission doesn’t automatically let you change your loadout if you’re continuing the same run.

If you continue your run, your options are to pick up new equipment during missions or purchase equipment from available stores.

Select a Mission at the War Table

Once you’re back in Sanctus Clypeus, head over to the War Table next to the Knight Commander.

Interact with the War Table and select Mission 1 to begin a new run.

One thing that caught my attention is that failed runs start you back at Mission 1, so you’ll need to work through the missions again after starting a fresh run.

Before heading into the mission, this is your chance to prepare the equipment you want to use.

Change Your Loadout at the Crystal

After selecting Mission 1, head north from the War Table.

Go up the stairs and enter the room. You’ll find a Crystal in the middle of the room, just before the door leading into the mission.

Walk up to the Crystal and interact with it.

This opens your loadout menu, where you can select your existing setup, edit it, or create a completely new loadout.

How Many Loadout Slots Are Available?

Crimson Moon gives you 5 loadout slots.

This is useful because you don’t have to keep rebuilding your character every time you want to try something different.

For example, you could save one loadout for a standard melee setup, another for a Frost build, and another for a setup designed around different weapons or Boons.

Once you’ve saved your setups, you can simply select the one you want from the Crystal before starting your run.

Can You Change Your Loadout During a Run?

No, you cannot completely change your loadout during a run.

Once you’re already progressing through your missions, you can’t return to the Crystal and swap your entire setup.

Instead, you’ll have to make changes through the equipment you find during the run or by purchasing equipment from stores.

If you want to completely rebuild your character with a different saved loadout, you’ll need to finish or abandon your current run and return to Sanctus Clypeus.

The easiest way to manage your equipment is to set up your preferred builds at the Crystal before starting a run.

Since you have five loadout slots, I’d recommend using them for different playstyles rather than making five nearly identical setups. This lets you quickly switch between builds whenever you’re starting a fresh run.

Just remember the basic process: return to Sanctus Clypeus, select Mission 1 at the War Table, head north to the Crystal, and interact with it to manage your loadout.
