Plants on Fire Best PvP Decks – Endgame Builds, Line Ups

If you’re just getting started with Plants on Fire PvP, building the right deck can make climbing the Trophy ladder much easier. You don’t need a collection packed with rare Minions to get started either. A few reliable damage dealers and the right buffers can carry you through the early brackets, while stronger variants and 8-Cost Minions give you more options as you climb.

The important thing is to build around what your current collection can actually support. Apple Sheriff, Pop Gunner, Leeky Beats, and Azure Astrologer are especially useful early on, while cards such as Guaca Sage, Lady Tulip, Tomato Twister, and Shamaness open up stronger setups later.

Below are some useful PvP decks and upgrade paths, starting with beginner-friendly F2P options and moving toward more advanced builds.

Plants on Fire Best PvP Decks – Endgame Builds, Line Ups

General Strategy

  1. Early on, prioritize buying Apple Sheriff for AoE damage and Pop Gunner for single-target damage and breaking through shields.
  2. Leeky Beats gives you a huge power boost during the first three rounds. Once you’ve finished setting up your core, add Cheerbloom to further boost your carry’s damage potential.

You don’t need to overcomplicate things at this Trophy range. Focus on getting your main damage dealers online and use your buffers to make those cards hit harder.

Advanced Strategy

Once you’ve finished building your core lineup, start completing quests and using Recruit Tokens or random cards from quest rewards to look for growth-focused Minions such as Dr. Kraut and Gourmand Baker.

These cards can help your board scale instead of relying entirely on your starting damage dealers.

Beginner Deck: 300–700 Trophies

Once you reach this bracket, you’ll have access to a few more powerful options. This is where Pomblaster and Azure Astrologer become especially useful.

Get Pomblaster

Your first priority should be upgrading the U-Pick Farm to Level 3 to unlock Pomblaster.

You can earn any Diamonds you need from Daily Quests, Adventure Mode, and completing the beginner quests.

Pomblaster gives you another strong AoE option, which becomes increasingly useful as you start facing larger groups of enemies.

Get Azure Astrologer

Next, use the Lucky Tokens you earn from different game modes to draw Azure Astrologer from the Rookie Pool.

Keep building your lineup until it looks like the recommended setup shown in the images.

Using Azure Astrologer

  1. Freeze a carry in your hand, as shown in the recommended setup. When Azure Astrologer Readies Up, she boosts that Minion’s ATK, allowing you to deploy it next round with increased damage.
  2. If you don’t have a carry worth freezing, or you’d rather boost Azure Astrologer herself, simply don’t freeze any Minions in your hand. She’ll end up boosting her own ATK instead when she Readies Up.

Get Floral Friar

Floral Friar is another powerful support option.

Complete Adventure Mode Chapter 1 to get your hands on an 8-Star Floral Friar.

This gives your deck another strong way to support your damage dealers as you continue climbing.

Deck for This Bracket

Use the recommended deck shown in the images for the 300–700 Trophy bracket.

Tips

  1. Berrinetta slows enemies, letting Pomblaster hit more targets and deal more damage.
  2. When you start running into the Snail boss, make sure to try and get some Pop Gunners in advance.
  3. Have Azure Astrologer freeze a carry in your hand, such as Apple Sheriff, Pop Gunner, Pomblaster, or Muscle Melon, depending on what enemies you’re facing.

Apple Sheriff and Pomblaster work better against hordes of enemies, while Pop Gunner and Muscle Melon are better at dealing with stronger enemies and bosses.

  4. Greenkeeper is a great support that heals your Captain and randomly strengthens your units.

Progression Deck: 700–1,200 Trophies

At around 700 Trophies, you can start moving toward a more developed deck. Lady Tulip, Leeky Beats I, and Guaca Sage give you considerably more scaling and burst potential.

Get Lady Tulip

When you’re around 700 Trophies, complete Adventure Mode Chapter 2 to get your hands on Lady Tulip.

She’s a strong addition as you start moving beyond the beginner brackets.

Get Leeky Beats I

Once you reach 700 Trophies and complete the Auto-Battle tutorial, you’ll receive a Sproutcoin.

Use it to draw and get the Leeky Beats I Variant.

This variant becomes an important part of the deck because of the amount of early ATK it can provide to your main damage dealers.

Get Guaca Sage

Keep saving up Lucky Tokens and use them in the Rookie Pool to get a Guaca Sage.

Guaca Sage gives your lineup some extra burst damage and becomes even more useful when combined with your existing buffers.

Using Leeky Beats I

  1. Use Leeky Beats I to buff your carry and secure an early advantage.
  2. Be sure to position your Leeky Beats I correctly to give both Pop Gunners a huge ATK boost.
  3. Advanced Tip: You can also switch your unit positioning between regular enemy waves and boss rounds. Use setups similar to the recommended images to better adapt to each situation and gain an advantage.

Positioning is easy to overlook, but it can make a noticeable difference once matches become more competitive.

Deck for This Bracket

Use the recommended deck shown in the images for the 700–1,200 Trophy bracket.

Tips

  1. Early on, look for your core buffer, Leeky Beats I, along with your main damage dealer, whether that’s Pomblaster, Apple Sheriff, or Pop Gunner.
  2. Then look for Azure Astrologer for targeted buffs and Greenkeeper for random buffs.
  3. As you climb higher in the rankings and the matches start getting tougher, save up your resources and add Guaca Sage to your lineup.

Guaca Sage coupled with Leeky Beats I and Azure Astrologer will give your deck much stronger burst damage.

Glowkeeper + Chili Chef

The idea behind this deck is to keep triggering Glowkeeper’s on-promotion effect by promoting Minions and using Chili Chef to demote them, allowing you to repeatedly buff your entire team.

Add DandeLion to weaken the enemy team and widen the gap in your favor.

This setup is fairly easy to build and straightforward to upgrade, making it a nice option if you don’t want a complicated PvP strategy.

Pros

  • Easy to build.
  • Straightforward to upgrade.
  • Promotion effects can provide strong team-wide scaling.

Cons

  • The gameplay is fairly repetitive.
  • The build has a relatively low ceiling compared with more advanced setups.

Upgrade Path

  1. Use Variants of Pop Gunner, Apple Sheriff, and/or Muscle Melon.
  2. Use Candlemancer Captain to boost the deck’s early-game scaling.

Leeky Beats Variant

How It Works

Take advantage of the free Leeky Beats Variant to build a big stat lead early on.

Even without any high-rarity Minions, a Lv. 4 Leeky Beats can provide up to 96 ATK from its buffs alone:

12 × 4 × 2 = 96 ATK

Move it around between Monster and Boss Rounds to buff Apple Sheriff and Pop Gunner, using the positioning shown in the recommended setup.

From there, the deck has a straightforward upgrade path as you build it out.

Initial Build

Start with:

  • Leeky Beats Variant — for the +12 ATK at Lv. 4
  • Apple Sheriff
  • Pop Gunner
  • Turnipette, if you have her, for some extra offensive pressure

This gives you a simple core that works well without requiring a collection full of high-rarity Minions.

Mid-Tier Build

Once you’ve got your base buffers, bring in Shroomurai early where you usually put Apple Sheriff to give yourself a stronger early-game presence, while Apple Sheriff cleans up low-health enemies.

Alternatively, you can have Guaca Sage take Apple Sheriff’s position and make good use of the Leeky Beats buff.

Endgame Builds

There are a few different directions you can take once the deck reaches the later stages.

8-Cost Lineup

Rush into an 8-Cost lineup by picking up Carrot Broker and pivoting into an 8-Cost build during the mid game.

Tomato Twister, Muscle Melon, Shamaness, Lady Tulip, and Broc Presley are all viable options for replacing Shroomurai as you transition.

The idea is to turn the early advantage from Leeky Beats into a stronger late-game board instead of trying to keep the exact same lineup throughout the entire match.

Candlemancer Captain + 8-Cost Lineup

Another option is to use Candlemancer Captain to get 8-Cost units as early as Round 1 or 2 and snowball that early advantage.

Put Sunny Banker in Apple Sheriff’s spot. Sunny Banker can summon a new Minion every round that inherits a percentage of his ATK.

The higher his level, the more value you get from those summons.

You can also swap Leeky Beats for a Lv. 10 Azure Astrologer to achieve a similar result, with an even higher potential ceiling.

Add Shamaness and one damage dealer of each type — AoE and single-target — to keep powering up each round.

Mangotello, coming next season, is another option. For now, use Apple Sheriff to help ramp up Tomato Twister’s ATK.

Azure Astrologer Build

The third option is to build around Azure Astrologer and use her to scale key carries such as:

  • Orange Bros
  • Pop Gunner
  • Apple Sheriff
  • Guaca Sage

This setup gives you more flexibility because you can choose which carry to freeze and boost depending on the matchup.

There isn’t one PvP deck that will work perfectly in every Trophy bracket in Plants on Fire. Your best setup will change as you unlock new Minions, Variants, and stronger upgrades.

For new players, Apple Sheriff + Pop Gunner + Leeky Beats is a reliable starting point. Once you reach the 300–700 Trophy range, adding Pomblaster and Azure Astrologer gives you more options against both waves and stronger enemies.

At 700+ Trophies, Leeky Beats I, Lady Tulip, Azure Astrologer, and Guaca Sage give you a much stronger foundation for climbing.

Once you have access to more advanced cards, the Glowkeeper + Chili Chef, Leeky Beats Variant, and 8-Cost builds can take your PvP strategy much further. The main thing is to keep adapting your lineup to the cards you actually have and the opponents you’re facing.
