Budling is one of the new companions you can obtain in Fisch, and you will need to visit the Living Garden to find it. Unlike a companion that you can simply purchase or collect immediately, Budling requires you to find it first and then guide it through the area. Fisch Budling Companion Guide – Location, Where to Find
Budling can be found in the Living Garden.
Head to the Living Garden and check the area where the companion appears. In the gameplay shown, Budling was found wandering around this location.
However, Budling does not appear to have a guaranteed spawn every time you enter a server.
The guide found that joining a new server seemed to be the best way to find the companion. After Budling was obtained, it appeared again in the same general area, but there was no confirmed method for manually making it spawn.
If you arrive and cannot find Budling, try leaving and joining another server until it eventually appears.
Start the Budling Quest
When you finally see Budling, walk up to it and interact with the companion.
Budling will explain that it needs to plant a seed. This starts the process of guiding it toward its destination.
After interacting with it, do not immediately run ahead. Budling needs to stay close to you while you move through the Living Garden.
Keep Budling From Getting Lost
The most important part of escorting Budling is staying close to it.
If you move too far away while heading toward the garden, Budling can get lost. Because of this, it is better to move through the route carefully and regularly check that the companion is still following you.
Guide Budling straight through the path and continue moving deeper into the area.
You will eventually be able to take the companion all the way toward the back of the garden.
How Budling Is Added to Your Companion Satchel
Once you reach the correct area at the back of the garden, Budling will automatically be collected.
You do not need to complete another interaction or manually claim it.
As soon as you reach the destination, the companion will automatically go into your Companion Satchel.
That means the full process is:
- Go to the Living Garden.
- Find Budling.
- Interact with the companion.
- Stay close while guiding it through the area.
- Take it toward the back of the garden.
- Budling is automatically added to your Companion Satchel.
Budling’s Appearance and Description
After obtaining Budling, you can equip it and have it follow you around.
The companion looks similar to the NPCs found in the Living Garden. Its description calls it a sleepy sprout with a nose for nectar and mentions that it is happiest when the garden is in bloom and the night is kind.
The description gives a few interesting hints about Budling, particularly because it mentions both nectar and nighttime.
What Happens to Budling at Night?
Budling appeared to change visually when nighttime arrived.
During the showcase, its eyes were seen glowing blue at night. Aside from this visual change, there was no obvious ability shown after several fishing casts.
The companion mostly continued following and moving around the player, so its exact effect was not immediately clear from the gameplay.
The mention of nighttime in Budling’s description could potentially be important, but the showcase did not confirm exactly what happens or what ability becomes active.
Does Budling Increase Divine Chances?
There was also a claim from someone in the game chat that Budling increases Divine chances.
However, this was not confirmed during the showcase.
