The Baby Nessie update in Fisch introduces a new questline featuring the Headless Horseman, a rescue mission inside the chapel, and several companion skins to collect. You’ll need to rescue Baby Nessie, complete a challenging fishing task, and show the Headless Horseman different Nessie variants to unlock the new companion.
The trickiest part of the quest is catching five Fish Fright-mutated fish in a row while the chapel lights are flickering. You must also be careful during the rescue because moving at the wrong time can teleport you outside without Baby Nessie.
In this guide, I’ll explain how to complete the entire questline, unlock Baby Nessie and its skins, and explore the aquarium themes and leaderboard customization included in the update.
How to Unlock Baby Nessie in Fisch – Unlock All Skins
To begin the quest, travel to Cursed Hollows, also known as the Fish Fright 3 area. Look for the ritual area and head toward the chapel-like building behind it.
You’ll find the Headless Horseman standing outside the chapel. Talk to him and continue through his dialogue until he explains that his Baby Nessie became trapped inside.
Choose the dialogue option “I’ll bring your Nessie back.”
Your objective will update, asking you to enter the chapel, pick up Baby Nessie, and carry it safely outside.
How to Rescue Baby Nessie From the Chapel
The rescue mission is straightforward, but you need to pay close attention to the chapel’s flickering lights.
Step 1: Enter the Chapel
Go inside the chapel and locate Baby Nessie. Pick it up to begin the return journey.
Step 2: Stop Moving When the Lights Flicker
The chapel uses a mechanic similar to Red Light, Green Light. You must stop moving whenever the lights flicker.
Follow these rules:
- Lights are flickering: Stop moving immediately.
- Lights are steady: Continue moving toward the exit.
- You move during a flicker: You can be teleported outside without Baby Nessie, forcing you to try again.
Be patient and only move when the lights are steady. Rushing through the chapel can make the rescue much harder.
Step 3: Return Baby Nessie to the Headless Horseman
Once you carry Baby Nessie safely outside, speak to the Headless Horseman and select the dialogue option confirming that Nessie is safe.
Your first rescue rewards are:
- 3 Frightful Caskets
- 500 Treats
After collecting these rewards, the Headless Horseman gives you the next objective.
How to Catch Five Fish Fright Mutations in a Row
The second part of the quest requires you to catch five Fish Fright-mutated fish consecutively while the chapel lights are flickering.
Return inside the chapel and find the fishing pool in the middle of the room. This is where you must complete the challenge.
How the Fishing Challenge Works
You need five qualifying catches in a row, and the fish must have the required Fish Fright mutation.
Follow these steps:
- Fish in the pool inside the chapel.
- Watch the chapel lights carefully.
- Catch fish with the required mutation during the flickering periods.
- Check each fish to confirm that it has the correct mutation.
- If a fish does not have the required mutation, you can let it go rather than counting it as a successful catch.
- Continue until your quest progress reaches five out of five.
The timing window is short, so this challenge may take some patience. Focus on both the mutation requirement and the timing.
Recommended Fishing Setup
One setup used for this challenge combines:
- Eldritch Rod
- Eldritch enchant
- Witch Kitty
These items can help with a mutation-focused approach, but you can use another setup if it works better for you. The important part is completing five qualifying catches during the chapel’s flickering periods.
Claim Your Second Reward
After catching five qualifying fish, leave the chapel and speak to the Headless Horseman again.
You’ll receive:
- 5 Frightful Caskets
- 825 Treats
The Headless Horseman then moves inside the chapel, where you can continue the questline.
How to Unlock the Baby Nessie Companion
Once the Headless Horseman moves inside, speak to him again. He will ask you to show him three Nessie variants:
- Plush Nessie
- Zombie Nessie
- Ghoul Nessie
The important detail is that you only need to show the requested Nessie, not give it away permanently.
Show Plush Nessie
Have Plush Nessie available and speak to the Headless Horseman. Choose the dialogue option that lets you show him your Nessie.
After he inspects it, the first requirement is complete, and the item remains in your inventory.
Show Zombie Nessie
Repeat the process with Zombie Nessie. Show it to the Horseman to complete the second requirement.
Show Ghoul Nessie
Finally, show Ghoul Nessie to the Horseman.
Once all three requirements are complete, you’ll unlock the Baby Nessie companion, along with these companion skins:
- Baby Plush Nessie
- Baby Zombie Nessie
- Baby Ghoul Nessie
How to Unlock More Baby Nessie Skins
You can unlock additional Baby Nessie appearances by showing the Headless Horseman other eligible Nessie variants.
For example, if you have a shiny Ghoul Nessie, show it to him to unlock the corresponding Baby Nessie skin. The same idea applies to other eligible variants, including skeletal Nessie.
The available appearances can include different versions, such as shiny and skeletal variants, giving you more options for customizing your companion.
If you want to collect more skins, keep track of which Nessie variants you own and show eligible ones to the Headless Horseman.
