Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest is a role-playing game where you build friendships, complete clan quests, and fight through four campaigns. Your clan affects which moves you can earn. Some abilities transfer across saves, giving your next cat a head start.
If you’re looking up warrior cats: clans of the forest moves, start with friendships and side quests rather than just story fights. Clan abilities appear tied to friendship milestones of 50/100, while Ancestor moves come from bosses, including secret encounters. Learning how to unlock those abilities means checking boss locations and reaching level 20 for one Defender Mode reward.
You’ll find move details, boss locations, and Sun Spots, with clan-specific information for Thunderclan, Riverclan, Windclan, and Shadowclan. Watch for small brown and beige speech bubbles between main quests so you don’t miss interactions. It’s unclear whether you can still earn clan friendship moves after completing the story, so don’t leave those conversations until the end.
Warrior Cats Clans of the Forest Sun Spots & Boss Location
Clan moves are unique to each clan and seem to unlock by raising your friendship with clanmates to 50/100, as well as completing side quests within your clan. Keep an eye out for the small brown and beige speech bubbles between main quests so you don’t miss any interactions.
Befriending rogues counts toward moves, too. I’m not sure if you can still befriend them or earn their moves after completing 100% of the story, or if those moves carry over to a second playthrough of the same clan.
Universal moves carry across all saves, and you can earn them through side quests and friendships, too. Unlike clan moves, you don’t need to focus on them as much in each playthrough, since they’re shared between saves.

Your cat’s max level is 20! Going from level 19 to 20 takes 10k.

Ancestor Moves and Boss Locations
The fourteen bosses come from the main story fights across all four campaigns, though I’m not sure if secret bosses count toward that total. You’ll need to beat the secret bosses for their Ancestor moves anyway, and regular story bosses give you Ancestor moves, too.
These moves carry over to every save, which can help you get through the stories faster. They can also speed up the grind toward the warrior, deputy, and leader level caps.
One Ancestor move is also locked behind level 20 in defender mode. You can’t cheese that requirement like you can with the trophy.
Secret boss spoilers ahead.
You’ll find Bark the badger in the top-left corner of ShadowClan, inside the den full of rocks.

The pack leader is under the stone bridge in RiverClan, in the lower-left part of the map. Look near the travel log.

Reynard the fox is in a cave in the upper-right corner of ThunderClan, near the Moonpool’s bench.

Mouthclaw’s snake is in the lower-right part of WindClan, inside a cave near the road.

Sun Spots
Sun spots increase your stamina and give you moves, so I’d grab them as you go. I’m not sure if they give you more moves on other saves after your first cat has visited them all.
Each clan has four spots, and you can reach most of them right away. A few require you to gnaw through some rope or get a log first.
ThunderClan
These two spots are easy to reach. Just walk up to them—no prep needed.

You can walk straight up to the other spot, but the one by the bridge takes a little work. Push a log first so you can cross.

RiverClan
You can walk straight up to this one.

You’ll need to walk around and drop down to find this one.

For the spot by the big tree, you’ll need to jump through some hills and trees. At the other spot, chew through the rope on a rock first.

WindClan
You can pretty much walk straight up to all of these.

For the spot in the bottom-right corner, first jump onto the small tree in the path near the cat. That makes a pole fall down.

ShadowClan
Chew the rock with the rope, then go around. You’ll need to climb the tree you just freed.

Just walk up to them along the highlighted path. I got lost on this one, so the marked route should help.

Enjoy building up your next clan warrior, and give the rogues a little attention too. Befriending them can also earn you moves, so your clanmates aren’t the only cats worth talking to.
