After seeing what it can do, I was honestly surprised. It’s much quicker than I expected, handles well, and doesn’t burn through fuel nearly as fast as I thought it would.
On top of that, the update isn’t only about the bike. Hardcore Mode also received a couple of interesting additions that can completely change how you prepare for long runs, especially if you’re someone who likes surviving for as long as possible.
Here’s everything you should know before heading out into the desert.
A Dusty Trip Trailhawk Bike Guide – Stats, Performance
The Trailhawk Bike is the newest drivable vehicle added to A Dusty Trip, and it’s built for speed rather than carrying lots of supplies.
Unlike larger vehicles, the bike feels incredibly responsive the moment you start moving. It accelerates almost instantly, making it a great choice for players who prefer travelling quickly instead of hauling dozens of items across the map.
One thing worth mentioning is that the test was done without a radiator properly attached, which caused the engine to overheat later. Even with that disadvantage, the bike still managed to show impressive performance.
Trailhawk Bike Performance
Acceleration
The first thing you’ll notice is how quickly the bike gets moving.
Instead of slowly building speed like some of the heavier vehicles, the Trailhawk Bike launches forward almost immediately. Within only a short distance, it reaches around 150 km/h, making it one of the fastest accelerating vehicles currently available.
If your goal is to travel between locations quickly or simply enjoy high-speed driving, this bike definitely delivers.
Top Speed
After continuing to accelerate, the bike reaches a maximum speed of roughly:
- Top Speed: Around 220 km/h
That’s an excellent top speed and easily makes long-distance travel much faster.
Whether you’re trying to outrun danger or simply cover huge sections of the map quickly, the Trailhawk Bike performs exceptionally well.
Braking
Despite its speed, braking remains fairly manageable.
The bike slows down without feeling uncontrollable, although you’ll still want to give yourself enough distance when travelling at over 200 km/h.
Fuel Consumption
One of the nicest surprises is how fuel-efficient the Trailhawk Bike is.
During testing:
- Distance travelled: Around 600 metres
- Fuel used: Roughly 1.1 litres
Considering the high acceleration and impressive top speed, that’s actually very reasonable fuel usage.
If you’re worried about constantly searching for petrol, the Trailhawk Bike is much less demanding than you might expect.
Don’t Forget the Radiator
The only real issue during testing came from driving without the radiator installed correctly.
As expected, the engine eventually began overheating. Thankfully, this wasn’t caused by poor vehicle design—it happened simply because the cooling system wasn’t attached.
If you’re planning long trips, always make sure every important engine component is properly installed before setting off.
New Cooler for Hardcore Mode
Besides the new bike, Hardcore Mode also received a very useful survival item: the Cooler.
This may not sound exciting at first, but it’s actually one of the most practical additions for longer runs.
What Does the Cooler Do?
Food spoils much faster in Hardcore Mode, forcing players to constantly search for fresh supplies.
The Cooler helps solve that problem by allowing you to store food inside, slowing down the spoilage process.
Simply:
- Open the cooler.
- Place food items inside.
- Close the lid.
Your food will stay fresh for longer, making resource management much easier during extended trips.
Can Items Stay Inside While Moving?
Yes.
During testing, burgers were placed inside the cooler before moving it around. Even after picking it up, sprinting with it, and setting it back down, the food remained inside.
For vehicles, you can also weld the cooler into place so it stays secure while travelling across the desert.
If you’re playing Hardcore Mode regularly, this is one of those quality-of-life items you’ll probably end up bringing on every journey.
New Hardcore Spikes Explained
Another major addition is the new road spikes found in Hardcore Mode.
These act as environmental hazards that punish careless driving.
What Happens When You Drive Over Them?
The first trip across the spikes isn’t instantly devastating.
After the initial run:
- Vehicle health dropped to around 67%
- Tire health remained around 69%
So while you definitely take damage, your vehicle remains usable.
Driving Over Them Again
The second pass tells a very different story.
After crossing the spikes again:
- Vehicle health dropped to roughly 53%
- Tires were almost completely destroyed
The damage increases significantly, especially to your tires.
The good news is that the spikes don’t immediately destroy your vehicle in a single hit. However, repeatedly driving over them can quickly leave you stranded with ruined tires and a heavily damaged vehicle.
