All Hail the Orb Alchemy Discoveries Guide (Unlock Order)

If you’ve been staring at the Alchemy Discoveries menu wondering which upgrades actually matter and which ones can wait, you’re not alone. Some of these look small on paper but completely change how your cult runs in practice. Others sound flashy but only shine later.

Let’s walk through all 9 discoveries like a real playthrough—what they actually feel like in-game, when they start paying off, and whether they’re worth your time right now.

Super Beds

This one sounds simple, but you’ll notice the difference almost immediately. Every time your cultists go to sleep, there’s a 20% chance they wake up with full stamina instead of just partially recovered.

At first, it feels like a small bonus. Then suddenly your cultists stop slowing down as much. Less waiting. More doing. It quietly boosts your entire workflow without asking anything extra from you.

Early game? Solid pickup.
Late game? Still useful, just less noticeable.

Speedy Transit

This is one of those upgrades you don’t think you need… until you get it.

Unlocking a portal in the Library that connects to the Cultist Quarters removes a ton of pointless walking. And in this game, walking = wasted stamina = slower progress.

Once you have this, going back feels painful. It’s pure quality-of-life, but honestly, it feels like a core mechanic that should’ve been there from the start.

If you hate downtime, prioritize this.

Grotto Auto Harvest

This is where things start getting good.

Fully grown mushrooms that have already spread their spores will automatically collect themselves. No clicks. No babysitting. They just… handle it.

This turns your mushroom setup from “something you manage” into “something that works for you.” It’s one of the cleanest automation upgrades in the game.

If you like passive income and less micromanagement, this is top-tier.

Cultist Statue Upgrades+

This unlock doesn’t do anything flashy right away, and that’s exactly why some players skip it early.

What it actually does is expand your upgrade tree for the Cultist Statue in the Summoning Chambers. In other words, it opens the door to stronger long-term bonuses.

Think of it as investing in your future power. Not exciting in the moment—but very important if you plan to scale efficiently.

Life Crystal Upgrades+

Similar idea here, but focused on your Life Crystal Generator.

More upgrades means better output, and since Life Crystals tie into a lot of systems, improving them has a ripple effect across your entire run.

You won’t feel the impact instantly, but give it some time and it starts carrying a lot of weight behind the scenes.

Devotion Resonance Crystal

Now this one is actually fun.

Every time you click the orb, there’s a 10% chance to spawn a Resonance Crystal. If you click it before it disappears, it creates another one… and you can chain this up to 10 times.

When it pops off, it really pops off. You’ll get bursts of devotion that feel way stronger than your usual gains.

It’s not consistent, but when it hits, it’s one of the most satisfying mechanics in the game.

Crystal Conduit Unlock

This is where your build starts feeling smarter instead of harder.

Once unlocked, your Life Crystal system begins interacting with the orb. When fully charged, it automatically triggers devotion clicks for you.

It’s not full automation, but it’s a big step in that direction. You start relying less on manual clicking and more on systems working together.

Pair this with other devotion upgrades, and things get interesting fast.

Prayer of Fertility

At first glance, 5% doesn’t sound like much.

But over time, every orb click having a chance to instantly complete a mushroom’s growth adds up more than you’d expect. Especially if you’re clicking often or running a build focused on mushrooms.

It creates these little bursts of progress that feel surprisingly rewarding.

Not essential early—but very nice once your systems are rolling.

Eureka Moments

This is the rarest—and probably the most mysterious—upgrade on the list.

Every time you read a book, there’s a tiny 0.01% chance to gain a massive Insight Point.

You won’t see it often. You might even forget it exists. Then suddenly it triggers, and you get a huge boost out of nowhere.

It’s not something you rely on. It’s something that rewards you for playing long enough.
