Archero 2 Umbral Tempest Season 4 General Guide

Season 4 of Umbral Tempest has started in Archero 2, and after playing through the new season, I found that the overall system has not changed too much from the previous seasons. That is actually good news because many of the builds and strategies that worked before are still useful now.

In this guide, I will share the setup I am using for Season 4, including the best class choices, talents, heroes, power-ups, and some tips for getting through the different game modes. I will also cover how to spend your shop tokens and what you should prioritize if you are struggling with the stages.

Archero 2 Umbral Tempest Season 4 General Guide

I found the Umbral Tempest fairly easy this time around and managed to complete most of the available content pretty quickly. So, if you are just starting Season 4 or want to improve your progress, here is the general strategy I recommend.

Best Class for Umbral Tempest Season 4

In my opinion, Alchemist is still the best class in Archero 2 for Umbral Tempest.

If you have not chosen your class yet, I would recommend going with Alchemist. Of course, you can still use Ranger, Diver, or Druid if you prefer them, but Alchemist remains my first choice.

One important thing before you start is to equip your highest possible total Power level.

Your Power level is important because it can help you obtain more Dust, which then gives you access to additional upgrades and talents.

So before jumping into the season, check your equipment and make sure you are using your strongest possible setup.

Focus on Resonance Talents First

When spending your resources on talents, I recommend prioritizing the Resonance Talents first.

After that, I would focus heavily on Health.

Health is one of the best stats to invest in during the early part of Umbral Tempest because surviving longer can make a bigger difference than trying to stack damage immediately.

If you are struggling to clear stages, do not be afraid to put even more resources into Health and Defense.

Best Builds for Season 4

The builds for Season 4 are mostly similar to the previous season.

If you already have a build that worked well for Ranger, Alchemist, or Diver in the previous season, you can continue using it here.

The main difference this season is that we have some new skills to experiment with, so there is room to adjust your build depending on what you get.

I am also planning to test Druid more this season, as I had not really used the class much before.

Alchemist Trigger Talents

For my Alchemist setup, I started with Steam Pulse as my Trigger Talent.

After that, I picked Meteor Brand.

You can test both options yourself, though, so I would not worry too much if you choose a different option. The important thing is to see which one works better with your build and playstyle.

For leaderboard-focused players, the better choice may depend on the rest of your setup, so I would recommend experimenting rather than blindly copying one combination.

Best Heroes for Umbral Tempest

For your heroes, try to use characters that provide Resonance.

My first Resonance unit recommendation is Dracula.

Dracula is particularly useful because he can provide a lot of Health Regeneration, which makes it much easier to stay alive during difficult stages.

For your second Resonance hero, Thor is another good option.

However, your choices can change depending on which class you are using.

For example, if you choose Druid, you can use Artimus. For Alchemist, Cleo can also be a good choice if you have her at higher stars.

So, do not feel like you have to use exactly the same heroes in every situation. Look at your available Resonance options and use the strongest combination you have.

Umbral Tempest Season 4 Game Modes

The Umbral Tempest felt fairly easy to me this season.

Even though I was busy for most of the day, I was still able to complete the different game modes relatively quickly and collect a good number of shop tokens.

I managed to complete:

  • Five stages of the Abon Road Front
  • Doomsday Clash
  • The entire Solitary Trial

Overall, this took me roughly one hour.

That gave me a good amount of shop currency, and you can use those tokens to purchase a large portion of the available rewards.

What to Buy From the Umbral Tempest Shop

If you are wondering what to prioritize in the shop, I recommend starting with the Hero Skin Decorations.

These decorations are more useful now because they provide a direct stat boost.

Previously, the decorations did not provide much practical benefit, but that has changed. Because they now contribute to your stats, I would pick them up early.

After that, prioritize the Rare Hero and the Revive Rune.

You should eventually have enough shop tokens to purchase most of the available items, so there is not necessarily a strict shopping order that everyone needs to follow.

If you have enough currency, simply pick up the items that are most useful for your account.

What to Do If You Cannot Beat the Stages

If you are struggling to beat the later Umbral Tempest stages, do not waste all your attempts trying to force your way through them.

Instead, you can farm Soul Crystals from Level 1.

This gives you a safer way to continue making progress and collecting resources.

You should also give the Solitary Trial a few attempts if you have not completed it yet.

Even if you cannot beat the entire trial, it is still worth playing because you can receive reward chests as you progress.

Every few levels, around every five levels or so, you can get additional reward chests.

So even when you know you cannot finish the entire thing, there is still value in pushing as far as you can.

Should Free-to-Play Players Compete on the Leaderboard?

If you are a free-to-play player, I would not recommend spending all of your time trying to compete with the top players on the leaderboard.

The reason is pretty simple.

Even if you have similar skills and understand the game just as well, players who spend heavily will generally have an advantage because they can obtain more Dust and additional Universal Talents.

Those extra resources translate into significantly more Power.

So, instead of stressing about leaderboard positions, I would focus on clearing the content, collecting the available rewards, and improving your account at your own pace.

How to Survive Longer

If staying alive is your biggest problem, put more of your resources into Health and Defense.

This is especially effective when combined with Dracula.

With enough Health, Defense, and regeneration, you can survive for a surprisingly long time.

This strategy is also useful for newer players because you do not need to have an extremely aggressive build to clear content.

It is definitely a slower playstyle, but it is one of the safer ways to make sure you actually finish the stage.

Once your survival is handled, you can worry more about increasing your damage.

Best Power-Ups to Choose

For your power-ups, I recommend looking for anything that improves your skills.

In particular, pay attention to power-ups that:

  • Reduce your overall skill cooldown
  • Improve your skill effects
  • Provide bonuses related to your skills
  • Enhance the new skills introduced this season

These can be extremely useful because skills play an important role throughout the game.

The new skills are also worth experimenting with rather than automatically ignoring them.

Depending on your class and build, one of the new options could end up being a strong addition to your setup.

How to Deal With Lag in Umbral Tempest

Umbral Tempest can become quite chaotic, especially when there are a lot of effects and enemies on the screen.

If you are experiencing lag or frame-rate drops, one simple thing you can try is lowering your game resolution.

You should also try standing toward the corner of the map.

This can reduce the amount of visual effects being processed around your character. With fewer effects filling the screen, your device may be able to maintain a more stable frame rate.

I found this particularly useful when the screen started getting overloaded with effects.

Should You Change Your Previous Season Build?

You do not necessarily need to completely rebuild your character for Season 4.

The overall system has remained fairly similar, which means many of the strategies and builds from the previous seasons are still relevant.

If you already have a strong Ranger, Alchemist, or Diver setup, you can continue using it and make small adjustments based on the new skills.

The biggest things I would focus on are your Resonance Talents, Health, heroes, and skill-oriented power-ups.

Overall, I found Umbral Tempest Season 4 fairly easy compared with what I expected.

I was able to complete the major game modes quickly and collect a good amount of shop tokens without having to spend the entire day playing.

For most players, I would start with Alchemist, equip your highest possible Power level, prioritize Resonance Talents, and then invest heavily in Health. Dracula is also one of the heroes I would recommend because of the Health Regeneration he provides.

If you are struggling with survival, focus on Health and Defense instead of trying to force a high-damage build. And if you are having trouble with later stages, farm Soul Crystals from Level 1 and make progress through Solitary Trial whenever possible.

Finally, do not worry too much about the leaderboard if you are free-to-play. The extra resources available to heavy spenders make the competition difficult, so your time is generally better spent collecting rewards and improving your own account.

The previous season builds are still useful, and the new skills give you some additional options to experiment with. As you play through Season 4, try different combinations and see what works best with your class and available heroes.
