If you’re working through the latest Social Season challenges in Bloons TD 6, Phase 2 is actually much easier than it first looks. At first glance, seeing requirements like:
- 15 Mermonkey clears
- 10 Desperado clears
- 7 Engineer clears
- 200 obstacle removals
sounds painfully grindy.
But the good news is you can combine Challenge 1 and Challenge 2 progress together and finish everything way faster than expected.
This guide covers:
- the fastest maps to use
- easiest hero setups
- upgrade paths
- how to combine obstacle removals efficiently
- which rounds need abilities
- the least annoying way to grind the entire event
Honestly, after figuring out the best maps, most runs become almost fully AFK.
Bloons TD 6 Social Season 1 Phase 2 Guide – Challenge 1 & 2
Challenge 1 requires clearing maps using:
- only Dart Monkeys + Hero
- only Buccaneers + Hero
- only Engineers + Hero
- only Desperados + Hero
- only Mermonkeys + Hero
Meanwhile Challenge 2 requires removing:
- 200 obstacles
The smart part is that Buccaneer runs on High Finance let you farm obstacle removals while progressing tower clears at the same time.
That saves a ridiculous amount of grinding later.
Best General Strategy
For most categories:
- play Easy difficulty
- use short maps
- stick to cheap upgrade paths
- let your hero carry early rounds
The majority of these setups revolve around:
- Sauda
- Gwendolin
because they can almost solo early-game waves while your towers scale.
Dart Monkey + Hero Strategy
Best Map
In The Loop
Difficulty
Easy
This is probably the easiest setup of the entire challenge set.
Recommended Build Order
Step 1
Place:
- Sauda
She carries the early game almost by herself here.
Step 2
Place left Dart Monkey:
0-2-0- eventually upgrade to
4-2-0
Set targeting to:
Strong
This handles stronger bloons extremely consistently.
Step 3
Place right Dart Monkey:
0-2-0- upgrade to
0-2-4
At this point the map basically clears itself.
Buccaneer + Hero Strategy (Best Obstacle Farming Method)
Best Map
High Finance
Difficulty
Easy
This is the most important setup because it also farms obstacle removals for Challenge 2.
Recommended Build Order
Step 1
Place:
- Sauda
Step 2
Place first Buccaneer:
0-0-2- upgrade to
0-3-2
Set targeting to:
Strong
Step 3
Place second Buccaneer:
0-0-2- upgrade to
0-3-2
Also target:
Strong
How to Farm Obstacle Removals Fast
Once your defense is stable:
Spend all remaining money upgrading buildings around the map.
Every building upgrade counts toward:
Remove an obstacle
You can usually buy:
- around 14 obstacle upgrades per run
Since the challenge needs:
- 5 Buccaneer clears
you’ll naturally end up with roughly:
- 70 obstacle removals
just from these runs alone.
This massively cuts down future grinding.
Important Round 40 Tip
Use:
- Sauda’s leap ability
on Round 40 for safer cleanup.
Without it, the MOAB can occasionally leak depending on timing.
Engineer + Hero Strategy
Best Map
In The Loop
Difficulty
Easy
Engineers are honestly smoother than expected for this challenge.
Recommended Build Order
Step 1
Place:
- Sauda
Step 2
First Engineer:
0-2-0- upgrade into
0-2-4
Step 3
Second Engineer:
0-0-2- upgrade into
0-3-2
Important Placement Tip
Place:
- Cleansing Foam
directly underneath:
- the Bloon Trap
This helps maximize trap value and keeps cleanup consistent.
Round 40 Tip
Again:
- use Sauda’s ability
for safer MOAB damage.
Desperado + Hero Strategy
Best Map
In The Loop
Difficulty
Easy
This one is surprisingly simple once upgrades come online.
Recommended Build Order
Step 1
Place:
- Gwendolin
Set targeting:
Strong
Step 2
Bottom Desperado:
0-2-0- upgrade into
0-2-3
Step 3
Top Desperado:
0-2-0- upgrade into
4-2-0
This combination handles grouped bloons and stronger targets pretty comfortably.
Mermonkey + Hero Strategy
Best Map
Spa Pits
Difficulty
Easy
This setup is slightly slower than the others but still very manageable.
Recommended Build Order
Step 1
Place:
- Gwendolin
Set targeting:
Strong
Step 2
Left Mermonkey:
0-0-2- upgrade into
4-0-2
Step 3
Right Mermonkey:
0-0-2- upgrade into
0-3-2
Once both upgrades are active, the map becomes very stable.
Fastest Way to Finish All Challenges
If your goal is speed rather than variety, this route feels the most efficient:
First
Complete:
- all Buccaneer runs
while farming obstacle removals.
Second
Finish:
- Dart Monkey
- Engineer
- Desperado
on In The Loop since it’s fast and easy to restart.
Third
Finish:
- Mermonkey runs
last since they take slightly longer overall.
Best Heroes for These Challenges
Sauda
Best for:
- short maps
- early carry
- MOAB cleanup
She makes Easy difficulty runs extremely relaxed.
Gwendolin
Best for:
- grouped bloons
- fire spread
- support damage
Especially effective during Desperado and Mermonkey clears.
