The latest Fisch update is finally here, and honestly, it’s one of the biggest social-focused updates the game has received in a long time. While everyone expected a simple clan system, the developers ended up adding much more than that.
Crews now have their own progression, rankings, challenges, exclusive equipment, monthly resets, and even a dedicated Crew House in Moosewood. On top of that, the Bestiary received a major overhaul, several quality-of-life improvements were added, and Fischfest leaks are expected later today with a trailer reportedly coming shortly after.
If you’re jumping into the update for the first time, here’s everything you need to know.
Use the New Fisch Code
Before doing anything else, make sure to redeem:
Code: Crews
The code was released alongside the update and is available now.
Head to the New Crew House in Moosewood
The first place you’ll want to visit is Moosewood.
Near the lighthouse area, you’ll find the brand-new Crew House. This location acts as the headquarters for the entire Crew system.
Inside you’ll find several important NPCs:
- Crew Herald
- Crew Overseer
- Crew Architect
- Daily Challenge Board
- Weekly Challenge Board
Everything related to Crews starts here.
How to Create or Join a Crew
The Crew Herald handles most Crew-related actions.
Using this NPC, players can:
- Create a Crew
- Join a Crew
- Invite players
- Manage members
- Adjust Crew settings
- View Crew information
Crews can be customized with:
- Unique names
- Custom emblems
- Crew colors
One thing worth noting is that Crew names must remain unique. During testing, names were limited to roughly 20 characters and couldn’t use numbers or special symbols.
Once you join a Crew, your Crew name appears above your character while playing.
Crew Roles Explained
The update introduces three main Crew ranks.
Founder
The creator of the Crew.
Founders have complete control over Crew management, recruitment settings, upgrades, and member permissions.
Officer
Trusted members who help manage the Crew.
Officers can assist with recruitment and administrative tasks depending on permissions.
Member
Standard Crew participants who contribute to Crew Rating through fishing and challenges.
Even regular members play a huge role because Crew progression depends heavily on overall participation.
How Crew Rating Works
Crew Rating is the new progression system that determines your Crew’s standing on the monthly leaderboards.
There are several ways to increase it.
Complete Daily Challenges
Daily Challenges reset regularly and provide Crew Rating rewards.
Examples seen during testing included objectives such as:
- Catching Exotic Fish
- Catching specific fish types
- Completing fishing milestones
Completing them rewards Rating and bonus items.
Complete Weekly Challenges
Weekly Challenges offer larger Rating rewards and are intended to be completed collectively over time.
These will likely become the biggest source of progression for competitive Crews.
Catch Valuable Fish
According to testing, certain rarities contribute Rating directly.
These include:
- Exotic Fish
- Divine Fish
- Secret Fish
The rarer the catch, the more valuable it becomes for Crew progression.
Monthly Crew Rankings and Resets
One of the most interesting features is the monthly ranking system.
Every Crew competes on a global leaderboard based on Rating.
At the end of each month:
- Ratings reset
- Rankings refresh
- New competition begins
The patch notes also confirm that high-ranking Crews may receive unique cosmetic rewards depending on their placement.
That means leaderboard positions could become extremely competitive once the update settles in.
Crew Challenges and Rewards
The new challenge system isn’t just about earning Rating.
Completing challenges can also reward useful items.
During testing, players received rewards such as:
- Totems
- Relics
- Bait
- Special consumables
This gives every Crew member a reason to participate, even if they aren’t chasing leaderboard positions.
Crew Equipment Explained
One of the biggest surprises in the update is the introduction of Crew-exclusive equipment.
Players can unlock powerful items by increasing Crew Rating.
New Crew equipment includes:
- Crew Bobber
- Crew Lantern
- Crew Rod
- Crew Ship
These unlocks are tied directly to Crew progression, making active participation much more valuable.
Crew Rod Might Become One of the Best Rods in Fisch
The standout item is undoubtedly the Crew Rod.
According to the update notes:
- It specializes in Secret Fish hunting.
- It becomes stronger through mastery progression.
- Its appearance changes based on your Crew emblem colors.
For players who spend most of their time hunting rare fish, this could quickly become one of the strongest rods available.
How to Increase Crew Capacity
New Crews begin with a limit of 10 members.
Using the Crew Architect, Founders can upgrade their Crew size.
Testing revealed the following requirements:
10 to 20 Members
- 1,000 Crew Rating
- 50,000 Cash
20 to 30 Members
- 5,000 Crew Rating
- 250,000 Cash
30 to 40 Members
- 25,000 Crew Rating
- 1.25 Million Cash
40 to 50 Members
- 100,000 Crew Rating
- 6.25 Million Cash
The maximum Crew size currently sits at 50 players.
Large communities will likely push for these upgrades quickly, while smaller friend groups may be comfortable staying around the 20-member range.
Bestiary Overhaul Changes
The update didn’t only focus on Crews.
The Bestiary received one of its biggest redesigns yet.
Easier Navigation
Instead of scrolling through endless fish entries, players now select locations first before viewing fish lists.
This makes finding specific fish much faster.
Search Function Added
A brand-new search bar allows players to quickly locate fish without manually browsing every region.
This is arguably one of the most requested Bestiary features.
Better Discovery Hints
Hidden locations now provide clearer clues and discovery information.
Players should have a much easier time figuring out where missing fish can be found.
Personal Catch Tracking
The Bestiary now tracks your personal catches for each fish.
Collectors finally have a much better way to monitor progress.
Shiny Fish Visuals
Once discovered, Shiny variants will now display visually inside the Bestiary.
It’s a small change, but one collectors will definitely appreciate.
Aurora Totem Changes
Aurora Totems received a significant adjustment.
Previously, players could purchase them repeatedly.
Now:
- Aurora Totems are no longer infinitely purchasable.
- Individual Aurora Totems will appear throughout the ocean.
- Players must locate and purchase them separately.
The good news is that their effects and pricing remain unchanged.
Bloop Hunt Improvement
One frustrating issue has finally been addressed.
When a Bloop Hunt is summoned, a protective barrier now appears around it.
This prevents random players from stealing your hunt and should make the activity much less frustrating.
Fischfest Leaks and Trailer Coming Soon
While Crews are the focus of this week’s update, the developers have also teased that Fischfest information is arriving today.
Leaks are expected to start appearing throughout the day, with an official trailer reportedly planned shortly afterward.
If the recent update schedule is anything to go by, Fischfest could end up being one of the biggest events Fisch has hosted this year.
