One thing I really like about Gakuran is that it isn’t entirely focused on fighting. While PvP is a huge part of the experience, the game also includes plenty of smaller activities that make the school feel like an actual place. You can spend some time reading books in the library, draw with friends on classroom chalkboards, or challenge other players to a basketball game.
If you’re new to these features, here’s everything you need to know.
Library Guide
The Library is located on the second floor of the school, at the very end of the left hallway.
Unlike many Roblox games where books are simply decorative objects, Gakuran lets you sit down and actually read them. It’s a nice way to relax between fights or simply explore more of the game’s world.
How to Read Books
Getting started is simple.
- Visit the Library.
- Browse the available books.
- Choose the title you want.
- Open the book to begin reading.
Once opened, the book displays actual pages that you can flip through one by one.
Books Have Multiple Pages
Instead of showing a short description or summary, every book contains multiple pages of written content.
You can read at your own pace, turning pages whenever you’re ready. It feels much closer to reading an actual book than simply opening an item in your inventory.
Whether you’re interested in learning more about the game’s world or just looking for something different to do, the library is worth checking out.
Library Features
The Library currently includes:
- Multiple books to choose from
- Real page-turning mechanics
- Full written stories and information
- A growing collection of readable content
Since Gakuran is still being actively developed, there’s a good chance the library collection will continue expanding with future updates.
Chalkboard Guide
Most classrooms include an interactive Chalkboard, and it’s much more than simple decoration.
Players can draw pictures, write notes, create announcements, or simply leave funny messages for friends.
It’s one of the best social features currently available in the game.
How to Draw
Before you can use a chalkboard, you’ll need a piece of Chalk.
Once you have it:
- Equip your chalk.
- Walk up to a chalkboard.
- Interact with it.
- Start drawing freely.
Everything you draw becomes visible to nearby players immediately.
Multiple Chalk Colors
Drawing isn’t limited to a single color.
Different chalk pieces allow you to create colorful artwork, making it easier to:
- Draw detailed pictures
- Highlight important notes
- Create classroom games
- Work on collaborative projects
Using multiple colors also makes it easier to tell who drew what.
Draw Together With Friends
One of the coolest parts of the chalkboard system is that multiple players can draw on the same board at the same time.
This makes it perfect for:
- Group artwork
- Classroom lessons
- Planning events
- Writing announcements
- Playing drawing games
- Leaving messages
Because everyone’s drawings appear in real time, it becomes a genuinely fun collaborative activity.
Drawings Stay Until They’re Erased
Anything written on the chalkboard remains there until someone removes it.
That means your drawings, notes, or messages won’t disappear the moment you walk away.
How to Erase the Board
To clear the chalkboard, you’ll need a Chalk Eraser.
Using it removes all existing:
- Drawings
- Writing
- Sketches
- Notes
- Messages
Once erased, the board becomes completely blank and ready for new artwork.
Basketball Guide
Basketball is easily one of the most polished activities in Gakuran.
Rather than relying on luck, every shot depends on timing, positioning, and defensive pressure. If you’ve played sports games before, the mechanics will feel familiar.
How to Shoot
To shoot the basketball:
- Hold F.
- Watch the shot meter fill.
- Release F at the right time.
The better your release timing, the better your chances of scoring.
Shot Meter Explained
Bright Green
A perfect release.
Unless the shot is blocked, it’s guaranteed to go in.
Lime Green
Slightly late timing.
Still has a very high chance of scoring.
Orange
Late release.
The shot can still score, but it’s much less reliable.
Red
A badly mistimed release.
Red shots always miss, so avoid releasing this early.
Defensive Pressure
Making a basket isn’t only about perfect timing.
If another player is closely guarding you, your shot becomes much harder to make.
Shots generally fall into three categories:
- Open
- Lightly Contested
- Heavily Contested
Creating space before shooting is often more important than forcing a difficult attempt.
Basketball Controls
Learning a few dribble moves makes scoring much easier.
Between-the-Legs Dribble
X
Protects the ball while changing direction.
Behind-the-Back Dribble
Z + X
Moves the ball behind your back to avoid defenders.
Alternate Behind-the-Back
C + X
A second variation that gives you another movement option.
Drop the Ball
Backspace
Drops the basketball immediately.
Useful for resetting possession or handing the ball to another player.
Defensive Controls
Holding Right Mouse Button (RMB) puts your character into a defensive stance.
While defending, you can:
- Contest shots
- Stay in front of attackers
- Cut off driving lanes
- Pressure ball handlers
Good defense makes even well-timed shots much harder to score.
The Library, Chalkboard, and Basketball systems give Gakuran much more personality than a typical Roblox fighting game. Whether you’re flipping through books in the library, creating artwork with friends on the classroom chalkboards, or competing in a close basketball match, these activities offer a welcome break from constant PvP. They’re also a great reminder that Gakuran is designed to be a social school experience, not just a place to fight, making the world feel far more interactive and enjoyable to explore.
