The latestGrounded 2 Into The Abyss update adds 10 new trinkets, including returning favorites from the original Grounded and several new Ominent Tokens. Some are easy to obtain, while others require specific creatures, stealing mechanics, or tricky exploration.
Here’s where to find every new trinket and what each one does.
Grounded 2 Into The Abyss All 10 New Trinkets Guide and How to Get
1. Reflex Guard
How to get it: Craft it from storage.
Required materials:
- 3 Striped Scorpion Chunks
- 2 Sturdy Plating
- 3 Crushed Quartz
Effects:
- Defense Up: Increases your armor’s defense.
- Bargain Block: Reduces the stamina consumed when blocking attacks.
Reflex Guard is particularly useful for builds that rely heavily on shields and blocking.
2. Toxicology Token
Location: Skunk Pond
Head to the Skunk Pond area and look for the small blue LEGO-like brick. A dead Ominent worker can be found there, and looting it gives you the Toxicology Token.
Effects:
- Gag resistance
- Full immunity to dust-based effects
- Increased venom damage taken
The dust immunity currently has limited usefulness because there aren’t many creatures using dust attacks. However, the token can be useful in areas where gag effects are a concern.
Be careful around enemies that deal venom damage, since the token’s downside makes their attacks more dangerous.
3. Ranger Token
Location: Between the Pagoda and Skunk Pond
Go to the rock wall near the edge of the Pagoda area, close to the beginning of Skunk Pond. You can use an Orb Weaver Buggy or Dandelion Tuft to glide down from the top.
Look for an opening below where another dead Ominent worker can be found. Loot the body to obtain the Ranger Token.
Effects:
- Increases attack damage.
- Prevents you from performing Perfect Blocks.
The damage increase appears to be roughly 10–20%, making this a strong option for pure damage builds. It can work particularly well with heavy-hitting weapons and the Frenzy mutation.
4. Biomedical Token
Location: Abyss biome
The Biomedical Token is found shortly after entering the Abyss. Look for the small Abyss outpost and climb the ladder. A dead Ominent worker at the top contains the token.
Effects:
- Provides slight passive healing over time.
- Converts food into healing.
The healing is useful in theory, but the food conversion drawback makes this one of the less appealing trinkets. For many builds, simply using a bandage can provide more reliable healing.
5. Sticky Fingers
Location: Abyss biome, Rocky Chamber
Travel to the Rocky Chamber in the top-left portion of the Abyss map. The trinket is located on top of a cinder block.
You may need a Croaksworth and potentially a Harpoon Gun to reach the area. Use the nearby creatures and their movement to boost yourself onto the cinder block.
Once there, you’ll encounter an Ancient Pond Jockey, Toe Biter Nymph and, most importantly, a piece of chewed gum.
Drop the bomb and use the Croaksworth to break open the gum. This reveals the Sticky Fingers trinket.
Effect:
- Steal Item: Allows you to steal one creature part without killing or looting the creature.
For example, you can hit a Toe Biter Nymph once and potentially receive a Toe Biter Shell.
Sticky Fingers is especially important because it is required to obtain several of the other new trinkets.
6. Tickled Toenail
How to get it: Steal it from a Toe Biter Leviathan.
One of the easiest places to attempt this is the Ogre Toe Biter Leviathan. Before fighting it, make a save because the stolen item is not guaranteed to be the Tickled Toenail.
Equip Sticky Fingers or Pincer Pincher, then steal an item from the Leviathan.
The steal reward is randomized, so you may receive another creature part instead. Reload your save and try again until you obtain the trinket.
Effect:
- Finale Infection
- The final hit of a three-hit melee combo deals infection and additional slashing damage.
- The infection reduces the enemy’s attack damage and attack speed by 10%.
The extra slashing damage scales with your attack power, making this a strong choice for melee builds.
7. Crown Jewel
Location: Near the Mysterious Stranger’s axe
Travel to the area shown on the map near the other Ominent badge location. Walk along the stick extending through the water and look for the Mysterious Stranger’s axe.
There are several Orc creatures in the area, but the important item is located on the desk nearby.
Effect:
- Smashing Attack
- Adds additional smashing damage to weapons.
- The bonus scales with attack power.
- Deals even more smashing damage after breaking an enemy’s block.
Crown Jewel is particularly powerful for club and other smashing-focused builds, where the additional smashing damage can significantly improve your damage output.
8. Feasting Fangs
How to get it: Loot Ticks
Ticks are the only newly added creature in this update that can directly drop one of the new trinkets.
Before farming them, use a Stuffed Tick and rub it to gain its loot luck bonus. Then kill and loot ticks until you obtain the Feasting Fangs.
Effect:
- Vampiric Hunger
- Increases healing received while using lifesteal weapons.
- Increases critical hit chance while wielding lifesteal weapons.
This trinket is especially useful with weapons such as the Tiger Mosquito Needle and Mosquito Needle. Combined with lifesteal equipment, it can make a sustain-focused build extremely powerful.
9. Speed Droplet
How to get it: Steal it from regular Aphids.
You’ll need Sticky Fingers to steal the trinket from an Aphid. Regular Aphids specifically provide the Speed Droplet.
Effect:
- Quickness
- Increases movement speed by approximately 10%.
Speed Droplet is a great exploration and mobility trinket, particularly for players who spend a lot of time traveling around the park.
10. Frozen Droplet
How to get it: Steal it from Woolly Aphids.
Like the Speed Droplet, this one requires Sticky Fingers. Find Woolly Aphids and repeatedly use the steal mechanic until the Frozen Droplet appears.
The drop is not guaranteed, so farming can take some time.
Effect:
- Minty Dodge
- Releases a blast of chill whenever you dodge during combat.
- The effect has a cooldown.
Frozen Droplet is a useful choice for players who want to add an additional offensive effect to their dodge-based combat style.
