Your race plays a much bigger role in Haze Seas than it might seem at first. Every race comes with its own passive bonuses that can improve your movement, survivability, stamina, or combat performance. Once you reach Level 2200, you can also upgrade your race to V2, unlocking even stronger abilities that make each race feel much more unique.
While you can spin for different races from the main menu, some races are noticeably better than others depending on whether you enjoy PvP, boss farming, or simply exploring the world. Here’s our complete Haze Seas Race Tier List.
S Tier
These races provide the strongest overall bonuses and remain useful throughout the entire game.
D. Clan
D. Clan is arguably the best race in Haze Seas. Even before upgrading, it provides extra Health and Stamina while also granting access to Conqueror’s Haki, one of the most unique racial abilities in the game. After unlocking V2, its stat bonuses become even stronger and Conqueror’s Haki consumes less stamina, making it much easier to use during longer fights. If you’re lucky enough to roll D. Clan, it’s worth keeping.

- +5% Health
- +5% Stamina
- Conqueror’s Haki (250 Stamina)
V2 Passive

V2 Passive
- +50% Walk Speed below 70% HP
- +1 Observation Dodge
Best For
- PvP

V2 Passive
- +50% Walk Speed
- +10% Stamina

- First Skywalk is 50% stronger
V2 Passive
- Glide ability
- First Skywalk becomes twice as powerful

How to Unlock Race V2
Every race shares the same upgrade quest once you reach Level 2200.
Visit the Race Engineer NPC and complete the following objectives:
- Defeat one Sea Beast.
- Open 50 chests around the world.
- Defeat the Zenith Boss.
Once you’ve completed every objective, return to the Race Engineer and pay:
- 1,000,000 Beli
- 100 Gems
Your race will then evolve into its V2 version.
The good news is that these quests can be repeated, so if you decide to switch races later, you won’t need to complete a completely different set of challenges.
If you’re looking for the strongest race overall, D. Clan is easily the top pick thanks to its excellent stat bonuses and exclusive access to Conqueror’s Haki. Dragonborne is another fantastic choice for players who prefer survivability, while Human excels in PvP thanks to its speed boost and extra Observation dodge.
If you enjoy exploring the map, Fishborne and Skyborne offer some of the best movement abilities in the game, whereas Demon is a solid option for players who like staying in the middle of the action and recovering health through combat. No matter which race you start with, upgrading it to V2 is well worth the effort once you reach the required level.
