If you’ve just started playing Hell Maiden, you might notice that not everything is available from the beginning. New characters, signature weapons, Spirit Cards, and even the next Circle are unlocked naturally as you progress through the game.
The good news is that the Early Access version keeps progression fairly straightforward. Most unlocks are tied to completing runs, rescuing important characters, or defeating bosses multiple times.
This guide explains everything currently available in Hell Maiden Early Access, including Circle 1 (Limbo) and Circle 2 (Lust), along with how to unlock every Blessing, Signature Weapon, and Boss Spirit Card.
Note: This guide is based on the current Early Access version and will likely expand as future Circles are added.
Hell Maiden Beginner Guide – Unlock Character, Spirit Card
During Early Access, you’ll explore two playable Circles of Hell:
- Circle 1 – Limbo
- Circle 2 – Lust
As you complete runs, you’ll unlock:
- New Poets
- Blessings
- Signature Weapons
- Boss Spirit Cards (Taboo Arts)
- Additional Circles
Most unlocks become permanently available once earned, making future runs much easier.

Once unlocked, her Taboo Arts begin appearing as possible Spirit Card rewards during future runs.
How to Unlock Circle 2 (Lust)
The second Circle isn’t available immediately.
Before progressing, you’ll need to complete the major objectives in Limbo.
Requirements
- Rescue Horace.
- Rescue Homer.
- Defeat Minos once.
After meeting all three conditions, Circle 2 (Lust) becomes available.

Winning isn’t necessary.
Even if you’re defeated, Ovid becomes available on your next visit to the Forum.

Best Progression Order
If you’re unsure what to focus on, following this order makes progression much smoother:
- Complete two runs in Limbo.
- Unlock Virgil.
- Rescue Horace.
- Rescue Homer.
- Defeat Minos.
- Unlock Circle 2.
- Encounter Libicocco and Scarmiglione.
- Unlock Ovid.
- Farm boss victories until every Taboo Art is unlocked.
Following this route ensures you’ll unlock nearly everything available in Early Access without unnecessary grinding.
Even in Early Access, Hell Maiden offers a satisfying progression system that steadily rewards each successful run. Unlocking new Poets, collecting powerful Signature Weapons, and expanding your Spirit Card options gives every playthrough a sense of progression, while repeat boss victories provide long-term goals beyond simply clearing each Circle.
With only Limbo and Lust currently available, now is a great time to unlock everything before future updates introduce additional Circles, bosses, and characters.
