If you’re trying to get the Stellarwave Melody Rod in Fisch, you’re going to have to complete quite a few objectives before the rod finally becomes yours. There are multiple fishing requirements, 12 different markings to find, and a few specific locations you need to visit.
In this guide, I’ll show you the fastest route through the quest, including where to start, what fish you need, all 12 marking locations, and the exact requirements for getting the restricted Stellarwave Melody Rod.
How to Get the Stellarwave Melody Rod in Fisch – Marking Locations
Before you can begin this quest, you need to have completed the Boreal Anomaly quest from the previous stage.
Once that’s done, activate the telescope and head toward the top of Boreal Pines, near the ponds.
You’ll find a blue door there.
Enter the door and you’ll be taken into the area where the quest NPC is located.
Look for the NPC with a star above their head and talk to them.
They’ll give you a multi-step quest that eventually leads to the Stellarwave Melody Rod.
Catch a Blue Moon Fish
The first requirement is pretty straightforward.
You need to catch one Blue Moon Fish.
For this, use a Blue Moon Totem during a clear night and simply start fishing.
The nice thing about this requirement is that it doesn’t appear to require a particular species of fish. You just need to get a fish with the Blue Moon condition.
Once you’ve caught it, return to the quest NPC.
Catch a Sparkling Aurora Celestial Koi
The second fishing requirement is much more specific.
You need to catch a Sparkling Aurora Celestial Koi.
For the best setup, use:
- Seraphic Rod
- Aurora Bait
- Aurora active
- Poseidon’s Room
Head into Poseidon’s Room and fish while an Aurora is active.
Remember that the fish needs to have all of the required characteristics, so a normal Koi won’t count.
Once you finally get the Sparkling Aurora Celestial Koi, head back to the NPC.
Reactivate the Boreal Telescope
There’s an important detail that can easily catch you off guard.
Whenever you leave and come back to this quest area, you need to turn the telescope on again.
So, before returning to the NPC, make sure the Boreal telescope is active.
This is particularly important because you’ll be traveling around the map for the next objectives. If you come back and the telescope isn’t activated, you may wonder why the quest isn’t progressing.
Find All 12 Markings
The next part requires you to find 12 different markings scattered around Fisch.
This is probably the most time-consuming section if you don’t know where to look.
Here’s the route I recommend following.
1. Moosewood
Start at Moosewood.
Jump up toward the area shown in the quest route and look for the small symbol on the wall.
Interact with it to collect the first marking.
2. Smoke Totem Area
Next, head toward the location where the Smoke Totem is found.
The marking is on the wall nearby.
Walk up to it and interact with the symbol.
That’s your second marking done.
3. Ancient Archives
For the third marking, head to the Ancient Archives.
You don’t need to go all the way inside.
Instead, look around the outside wall near the entrance.
You’ll find the marking there.
Interact with it and continue to the next location.
4. Sunstone
Travel to Sunstone and enter the Sundial Room.
The fourth marking can be found on the wall inside.
Walk over and interact with it.
5. Forsaken
Next, head to Forsaken.
Look for the large skull structure and go inside it.
The marking is located inside the skull.
Interact with it to add the fifth marking to your progress.
6. Terrapin
The sixth marking is at Terrapin.
This one is fairly easy to spot because it’s essentially sitting out in the open.
Head toward the marking, interact with it, and move on.
7. Ruined Leaf Volcano
Next, travel to the Ruined Leaf Volcano, specifically around the area where Aurora can be found.
Look for the small alleyway.
Walk inside and check the right-hand side.
The marking will be on the wall.
Interact with it to collect number seven.
8. Everturn
Now head to Everturn.
Go toward the dock area.
The marking is located directly behind the dock.
Interact with it and continue.
9. Castaway
For the ninth marking, travel to Castaway.
Head into the area where the Rainbow Cluster Rod is located.
The marking is inside the room.
Walk up to the wall and interact with it.
10. Statue of Sovereignty
Next, head to the Statue of Sovereignty.
You’ll need to enter the small portal that takes you into the enchanted area.
Once you’re inside, walk straight ahead and then take a right.
You’ll find the marking on the wall.
Interact with it to collect number ten.
11. Lost Jungle
The eleventh marking is located in the Lost Jungle.
Head toward the Spear Crafting Area.
Once you’re there, go behind the area and take a right.
The marking will be on the wall.
Interact with it and you’re almost finished.
12. Rosewood Oil Rig
The final marking is at the Rosewood Oil Rig.
Head over to the rig and look along the side of the wall.
The last marking will be located there.
Interact with it and you’ve officially completed all 12 markings.
Return to the Quest NPC
With all 12 markings collected, head back to the NPC at Boreal Pines.
Again, remember to make sure the Boreal telescope is activated when returning.
The NPC will now give you the next set of requirements.
This time, you’re going back to fishing.
Catch 18 Sparkling Fish at Snowcap Island
The next objective requires you to catch 18 Sparkling Fish at Snowcap Island.
For this part, use:
- Seraphic Rod
- Rainbow Totem
- Snowcap Island
Activate the Rainbow Totem and start fishing around Snowcap Island.
You’ll need a total of 18 Sparkling Fish, so this can take a while depending on your Luck and mutation chances.
I’d recommend preparing enough bait beforehand so you don’t have to keep stopping your fishing session to restock.
Catch an Abyssal Umbral Shark
After collecting the 18 Sparkling Fish, there’s one final fishing requirement.
You need to catch an Abyssal Umbral Shark.
For this catch, use:
- Rod of the Depths
- Fish Head Bait
- Statue of Sovereignty
Head into the Statue of Sovereignty area and start fishing with the Rod of the Depths and Fish Head Bait.
The shark needs to have the Abyssal Umbral requirement, so make sure the catch has the correct mutation before you move on.
Return to the NPC One Last Time
Once you’ve completed the 18 Sparkling Fish requirement and caught the Abyssal Umbral Shark, return to the quest NPC at Boreal Pines.
The NPC will finally reward you with the Stellarwave Melody Rod.
There is one important catch, though.
The rod you receive at this point is restricted.
So, you’re not completely finished if your goal is the unrestricted version.
You’ll need to complete another set of requirements to remove the restriction and unlock the rod’s full potential.
