If you’ve played through a Kingshot KvK before, you probably already know that the prep phase can get a little stressful. The temptation is always there to start spending the moment the event opens, especially when you see other players pushing their scores and your kingdom starts talking about the leaderboard.
But honestly, that’s usually where people make their biggest mistake.
KvK prep isn’t really about who can spend the most. It’s about who saved the right things and knows when to use them.
I’ve seen players burn through valuable items on Day 1, only to realize a couple of days later that they had nothing left for Advanced Taming Marks, Hero Roulette, Widgets, or Mithril. On the other hand, players who planned their stockpile properly can suddenly jump thousands of places on the leaderboard without spending anything extra.
So, if your KvK is coming up, this guide is meant to help you plan those five preparation days without wasting the resources you’ve been saving.
The basic idea is simple: know what scores each day, save your strongest items for their best scoring window, and try to reach the 200,000-point chest whenever your account can reasonably do it.
Kingshot KvK Prep Guide 2026 – Best Day 1–5 Tips, Items
The Kingshot Kingdom of Power preparation phase lasts for five scoring days. Each day has a different selection of activities that award points.
That means an item that looks useful on Day 1 might actually be much more valuable if you hold it for Day 3, Day 4, or Day 5.
This is why I wouldn’t recommend looking at KvK prep as one giant five-day event. Treat each day almost like its own mini-event.
Your main objectives are:
- Reach the 200,000-point chest each day if your resources allow it.
- Contribute enough points to help your kingdom win the preparation phase.
- Avoid wasting high-value items on days when they have a much lower scoring value.
- Keep enough resources in reserve for the later days, especially Day 4 and Day 5.
The last point is particularly important.
Day 1 can make you feel like you need to spend everything immediately. You don’t.
If you have a large stockpile, think about where those items will give you the most points before you touch them.
Kingshot KvK Prep Item Timing
Here’s the quick version of where I’d generally save your important items.
| Item or Activity | Best Day | Other Useful Days |
|---|---|---|
| Truegold | Day 1 | Day 2, Day 5 |
| Tempered Truegold | Day 1 | Day 5 |
| Truegold Dust | Day 2 | Day 1, Day 5 |
| Construction Speedups | Day 1 | Day 2, Day 5 |
| Research Speedups | Day 2 | Day 1, Day 5 |
| Training Speedups | Day 4 | Day 5, Day 1, Day 2 |
| Governor Charms | Day 1 | Day 3, Day 4 |
| Governor Gear | Day 5 | — |
| Watchtower Intel | Day 1 | Day 3, Day 5 |
| Hero Roulette | Day 2 | Day 3 |
| Hero Shards | Day 2 | Day 3 |
| Mithril | Day 5 | Day 4 |
| Widgets | Day 5 | Day 4 |
| Forgehammers | Day 5 | Day 4 |
| Advanced Taming Marks | Day 3 | Day 5 |
| Pet Advancement | Day 3 | Day 5 |
| Master Emblems | Day 2 | Day 3 |
| Master’s Manuscripts | Day 2 | Day 3 |
| Master Skill Speedups | Day 2 | Day 1, Day 5 |
| Gathering | Day 2 | Day 4, Day 5 |
There is one important detail here: just because something scores on another day doesn’t necessarily mean you should use it there.
For example, Truegold can score on several days, but Day 1 is usually where you get the best value from using it for construction.
Also, Beast Hunting isn’t a direct source of KvK preparation points, so don’t waste stamina expecting your hunts to push the prep leaderboard.
What Should You Save Before Kingshot KvK?
If you’re preparing several days or even weeks in advance, don’t just save everything blindly. Focus on the items that have the biggest impact during the prep phase.
The big ones are:
- Advanced Taming Marks
- Hero Roulette spins
- Mythic Hero Shards
- Truegold
- Tempered Truegold
- Widgets
- Hero Gear Forgehammers
- Mithril
- Master Emblems
- Master’s Manuscripts
- Master Skill Speedups
Advanced Taming Marks deserve special attention because they are worth 15,000 points each on the days where they score strongly.
Hero Roulette is another one that you really don’t want to casually spend just before KvK. A single spin gives 8,000 points during the relevant prep days, so saving those spins can make a noticeable difference.
The same idea applies to Mythic Hero Shards.
And then there’s Mithril.
If you have it, fantastic. If you don’t, don’t worry about it.
Mithril is incredibly valuable for KvK scoring, but newer and mid-game players shouldn’t look at the Day 4 leaderboard and assume they’re automatically out of the competition because they don’t have any.
There are plenty of other ways to contribute.
What to Do Before Day 1 Starts
There are a few things I would personally take care of before the preparation phase gets underway.
First, get your buffs sorted.
If you’re using the Wolf pet buff, Double Time Decree, or a Chief Minister position for your spending, make sure you understand the timing before you start burning resources.
It sounds obvious, but this is one of those mistakes that happens surprisingly often. Someone starts upgrading or spending, then remembers the buff five minutes later.
At that point, those points are already gone.
It’s also worth getting your Watchtower Intel situation organized so you’re not sitting around later wondering why you don’t have missions available when you need them.
And if your kingdom has already discussed battle-day assignments, make sure you know what alliance or role you’ll be using when the actual battle arrives.
KvK prep isn’t just about the five scoring days. A little preparation beforehand makes the whole event much easier.
Kingshot KvK Day 1 Guide
Day 1 is mainly about construction, Truegold, Watchtower Intel, and Governor Charms.
This is one of those days where you can get a lot of points without necessarily destroying your entire stockpile.
Day 1 KvK Point Values
- Complete a Watchtower Intel Mission — 6,000 points
- Use 1 Truegold for a building upgrade — 2,000 points
- Use 1 Truegold Dust for research — 1,000 points
- Increase Governor Charm max score by 1 — 70 points
- Use 1 Tempered Truegold for a building upgrade — 30,000 points
- Use 1 minute of Construction Speedups — 30 points
- Use 1 minute of Research Speedups — 30 points
- Use 1 minute of Master Skill Speedups — 30 points
- Use 1 minute of Troop Training Speedups — 30 points
The Watchtower Intel missions are particularly nice because 6,000 points for one mission adds up quickly.
If you have several missions available, don’t overlook them simply because they don’t require you to spend a huge pile of resources.
Truegold is another major Day 1 target.
If you already have a building upgrade ready to go, this is generally a good time to use your Truegold rather than randomly spending it earlier in the month.
Governor Charms also fit nicely here.
If you’re only a few points away from reaching a new Charm level, it can make sense to push through that breakpoint during Day 1 instead of spreading the materials around.
One thing to remember is that Governor Charm progression can provide a one-time milestone reward when you reach certain levels, in addition to the regular points from increasing the maximum score.
So if you’re sitting right next to a breakpoint, check how much it will take before deciding what to spend.
Kingshot KvK Day 2 Guide
Day 2 is where your saved hero progression starts doing some serious work.
This is probably one of the days where you’ll really appreciate having resisted the urge to spend your Hero Roulette spins earlier.
Day 2 KvK Point Values
- Hero Roulette spin — 8,000 points
- Use 1 Mythic Hero Shard — 3,040 points
- Use 1 Truegold — 2,000 points
- Use 1 Truegold Dust — 1,000 points
- Use 1 Epic Hero Shard — 1,220 points
- Use 1 Rare Hero Shard — 350 points
- Use 1 Tempered Truegold — 30,000 points
- Use 1 Master Emblem — 6,000 points
- Use 1 Master’s Manuscript — 60 points
- 1 minute of Construction, Research, or Training Speedups — 30 points
- 1 minute of Master Skill Speedups — 30 points
- Gathering 1,000 Bread/Wood, 200 Stone, or 50 Iron — 2 points
Hero Roulette is one of the easiest ways to generate a big chunk of points if you’ve saved your spins.
One spin gives 8,000 points, so if you’ve been saving them for the event, Day 2 is a great opportunity to cash them in.
Mythic Hero Shards are also extremely valuable here.
At 3,040 points each, they are considerably more useful for KvK prep than many of the lower-tier resources you might otherwise spend.
This is also a good day for Master Academy progression.
If you’ve been saving Master Emblems, Master’s Manuscripts, or Master Skill Speedups, Day 2 is one of the better windows to use them.
And don’t completely ignore gathering.
The individual points aren’t exciting, but gathering is something your marches can be doing in the background while you’re working on everything else.
Those small passive points can help you reach a chest threshold without spending another valuable item.
Kingshot KvK Day 3 Guide
Day 3 is one of my favorite preparation days for players who don’t have enormous endgame stockpiles.
Why?
Advanced Taming Marks.
They are worth 15,000 points each, which is a very good return for an item that many active players can accumulate over time.
Day 3 KvK Point Values
- Use 1 Advanced Taming Mark — 15,000 points
- Hero Roulette spin — 8,000 points
- Complete a Watchtower Intel Mission — 6,000 points
- Use 1 Mythic Hero Shard — 3,040 points
- Use 1 Epic Hero Shard — 1,220 points
- Use 1 Common Taming Mark — 1,150 points
- Use 1 Rare Hero Shard — 350 points
- Increase Governor Charm max score by 1 — 70 points
- Increase Pet Advancement Score by 1 — 50 points
- Use 1 Master Emblem — 6,000 points
- Use 1 Master’s Manuscript — 60 points
If you have been disciplined with your saving, Day 3 can be a very comfortable scoring day.
For example, a handful of Advanced Taming Marks combined with a few Hero Roulette spins can put you well on your way toward the daily chest without needing to burn through everything else you’ve collected.
This is also why I wouldn’t recommend spending your Advanced Taming Marks just because you happen to have enough resources for a pet upgrade.
If KvK is close, wait.
Those marks are much more valuable when you’re getting KvK points at the same time.
Watchtower Intel missions are another easy opportunity here, so make sure you haven’t forgotten about them.
Kingshot KvK Day 4 Guide
Now we get to the day that can look completely different depending on the strength of your account.
Day 4 is heavily associated with Mithril.
And for players who have Mithril available, this is a serious scoring opportunity.
Day 4 KvK Point Values
- Use 1 Mithril — 40,000 points
- Use 1 Widget — 8,000 points
- Use 1 Hero Gear Forgehammer — 4,000 points
- Increase Governor Charm max score by 1 — 70 points
- Train 1 T11 troop — 75 points
- Train 1 T10 troop — 60 points
- Train 1 T9 troop — 45 points
- Train 1 T8 troop — 35 points
- Train 1 T7 troop — 25 points
- Train 1 T6 troop — 18 points
- Train 1 T5 troop — 12 points
- Train 1 T4 troop — 8 points
- Train 1 T3 troop — 5 points
- Train 1 T2 troop — 4 points
- Train 1 T1 troop — 3 points
- Gather 1,000 Bread/Wood, 200 Stone, or 50 Iron — 2 points
One Mithril gives 40,000 points.
That is a huge amount for a single item, and it’s the reason you may suddenly see massive jumps from high-end players on Day 4.
But here’s the part newer players need to understand:
You don’t need Mithril to participate in Day 4.
If your account isn’t at the point where you have Mithril available, that’s completely normal.
Instead, focus on troop training, Widgets, and Forgehammers.
Training high-tier troops is especially useful if you already planned to train them anyway. You’re essentially getting the troops you needed while also collecting KvK points.
Don’t start training a massive number of troops purely because you feel pressured by the leaderboard, though.
Look at your account’s actual needs first.
Kingshot KvK Day 5 Guide
Day 5 is where all those items you’ve been carefully holding onto can finally come together.
This is the widest scoring day of the prep phase, and it’s also a great day for players who have been pacing their resources throughout the week.
Day 5 KvK Point Values
- Use 1 Mithril — 40,000 points
- Use 1 Advanced Taming Mark — 15,000 points
- Use 1 Tempered Truegold — 30,000 points
- Use 1 Widget — 8,000 points
- Complete a Watchtower Intel Mission — 6,000 points
- Use 1 Hero Gear Forgehammer — 4,000 points
- Use 1 Truegold — 2,000 points
- Use 1 Common Taming Mark — 1,150 points
- Use 1 Truegold Dust — 1,000 points
- Increase Governor Gear max score by 1 — 36 points
- Increase Pet Advancement Score by 1 — 50 points
- Use 1 minute of Master Skill Speedups — 30 points
- Use 1 minute of Construction, Research, or Training Speedups — 30 points
- Gather 1,000 Bread/Wood, 200 Stone, or 50 Iron — 2 points
This is basically the day where you look at what’s left in your inventory and decide where those remaining resources will make the biggest difference.
If you still have Mithril, this is another excellent opportunity to use it.
Advanced Taming Marks also come back into the picture, as do Widgets, Forgehammers, Truegold, Truegold Dust, and Watchtower Intel.
So don’t arrive at Day 5 with an empty inventory because you tried to win the event on Day 1.
I’ve always found that the players who stay calm during the first couple of days tend to have much more flexibility when Day 5 arrives.
How to Reach the 200,000-Point KvK Chest
The 200,000-point chest is a useful target, but don’t treat it as a requirement to destroy your account.
If you’re close to the chest, look at the most efficient items available on that particular day.
For example, using one Advanced Taming Mark for 15,000 points is far more attractive than burning a large amount of lower-value resources just because they are available.
The same applies to Hero Roulette, Mithril, Widgets, and Tempered Truegold.
A good approach is to work backward from the target.
If you’re at 170,000 points, you don’t need to spend 200,000 points worth of resources.
You only need another 30,000.
Look at what’s available, find the cheapest way to cross the threshold, and stop there if the rest of your stockpile is better saved for another day.
That little bit of discipline can make a huge difference over an entire KvK.
How F2P Players Can Score Well in KvK Prep
You don’t need to be a whale to contribute to your kingdom.
Obviously, a player with a huge stockpile of Mithril and high-level gear can put up an enormous score. That’s just part of the game.
But F2P and low-spending players can still contribute by being efficient.
Save your Hero Roulette spins.
Save your Mythic Hero Shards.
Hold your Advanced Taming Marks.
Keep gathering marches running.
Save useful speedups.
Use Watchtower Intel missions on the days they score.
Train troops when training points are available.
And, perhaps most importantly, don’t waste your best items outside the event unless you genuinely need to.
A player who consistently saves and spends at the right time can contribute far more than someone with a similar account who spends everything whenever an upgrade becomes available.
How to Prepare for KvK 30 Days in Advance
You don’t actually have to start preparing one week before KvK.
If you’re serious about helping your kingdom, the month before the event is a much better time to start thinking about it.
30–21 Days Before KvK
Take a good look at your account.
What is holding you back?
Maybe your main march needs better gear. Maybe your troops are too low. Maybe your research needs attention.
Start those longer upgrades early instead of waiting until the last few days.
This is also the point where I would stop casually spending high-value items that you know are useful during KvK.
20–11 Days Before KvK
Start building the account rather than just the KvK score.
Train troops.
Work on useful gear.
Push important research.
Keep your hospital capacity in mind.
If your kingdom has already started discussing battle assignments, pay attention to those conversations too.
10–4 Days Before KvK
This is where I would become much more careful with spending.
Start protecting your KvK stockpile.
Advanced Taming Marks, Hero Roulette spins, Mythic Hero Shards, Truegold, Widgets, Forgehammers, Mithril, and Master Academy materials should all be considered before you spend them.
You don’t necessarily have to save every single item, but don’t casually burn them without checking the upcoming prep schedule.
3–1 Days Before KvK
At this point, you’re mostly getting organized.
Make sure your hospital isn’t unnecessarily full.
Check your buffs.
Prepare your march presets.
Know your battle window in UTC.
Understand what your alliance expects from you.
And if your kingdom has a coordinated plan for shell alliances or battle assignments, make sure you actually know where you’re supposed to be.
The last thing you want is to spend weeks preparing and then miss the battle because you didn’t check the schedule.
Which KvK Items Matter Most?
If you’re wondering what deserves the most attention, I’d put the items roughly into these groups.
Extremely Important
Advanced Taming Marks, Hero Roulette spins, Mythic Hero Shards, Truegold, Mithril, Widgets, and Forgehammers.
These can produce very large amounts of points during their preferred days.
Worth Saving
Master Emblems, Master’s Manuscripts, Master Skill Speedups, Governor Charm materials, Governor Gear materials, and useful speedups.
These aren’t always as explosive, but they can fill gaps in your scoring plan.
Passive Preparation
Gathering resources and troop training are useful because they can generate points while also progressing your account.
The trick is to make your normal account progression work alongside KvK instead of spending resources purely for the leaderboard.
Common Kingshot KvK Prep Mistakes
There are a few mistakes I see players make again and again.
Spending Everything on Day 1
This is probably the biggest one.
Day 1 starts, everyone starts pushing points, and suddenly someone has used most of their Truegold, speedups, and other resources.
Then Day 4 arrives.
Now they have nothing.
Don’t let the Day 1 leaderboard pressure you into destroying the rest of your preparation.
Forgetting Your Buffs
If you’re going to activate Wolf, Double Time, Chief Minister, or another useful buff, do it before the spending that benefits from it.
Using the items first and remembering the buff afterward is an incredibly frustrating way to lose value.
Ignoring Advanced Taming Marks
If you have been saving Advanced Taming Marks, don’t casually spend them a few days before KvK.
Their 15,000-point value during the right prep window makes them one of the better items to hold.
Thinking Day 4 Is Only for Whales
Yes, Mithril gives an enormous amount of points.
No, that doesn’t mean everyone else should give up.
Widgets, Forgehammers, troop training, and gathering can still contribute.
Your kingdom needs the combined effort of the entire player base, not just the people with the biggest accounts.
Forgetting Watchtower Intel
Intel missions aren’t glamorous, but 6,000 points per completed mission adds up.
If they score on that day, use them.
Treating KvK as a Personal Competition
This is perhaps the biggest mindset difference between a casual player and someone who has been through several KvKs.
You’re not only trying to make your own account look good.
Your kingdom is trying to win.
Sometimes that means stopping at your chest target instead of wasting another pile of resources just to climb a few positions. Other times, your kingdom may need a coordinated push on a particular day.
Listen to your kingdom leadership and understand what your kingdom is actually trying to accomplish.
Kingshot KvK Prep Strategy in Simple Terms
If you don’t want to remember all the numbers, just remember the general rhythm.
Day 1: Construction, Truegold, Intel, and Charms.
Day 2: Hero Roulette, Hero Shards, research, and Master Academy progression.
Day 3: Advanced Taming Marks, Hero Roulette, Hero Shards, Intel, and Pet progression.
Day 4: Mithril, Widgets, Forgehammers, and troop training.
Day 5: Use whatever high-value items you’ve deliberately saved, especially Mithril, Advanced Taming Marks, Tempered Truegold, Widgets, Forgehammers, and Intel.
The most important part isn’t memorizing every single point value.
It’s knowing what you own and waiting for the day when that item is worth the most.
