Librarian Tidy Up the Arcane Library Book Locations Guide

If you’ve stepped into Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library!, you already know this isn’t just “put books on shelves.” It’s pattern recognition, color memory, and a bit of trial-and-error pain… especially when you’re chasing the Anti-Magic Master achievement.

I originally struggled with a few sections myself. Some books look similar, some categories overlap, and sometimes you swear everything is correct but the light just refuses to turn blue.

So this guide lays everything out cleanly. No guesswork. No backtracking for hours.

Librarian Tidy Up the Arcane Library Book Locations Guide

Before jumping into locations, here’s something that saves a ton of frustration:

  • Each section has a theme + color pattern
  • Shelves are split into:
    • Large shelves (10 volumes)
    • Small shelves (3 or 5 volumes)
  • When done correctly, the light above turns blue

If it doesn’t:
You either placed a wrong book… or the order is slightly off. Yes, order matters more than you think.

First Floor Overview (Sections 1A–1N)

The first floor is where most players spend the longest time. There are 14 sections, each with clear visual identity once you notice the pattern.

1A – Monsterology

Theme: Creatures, beasts, ecology
Color: Brown / earthy tones
Structure: 12 shelves × 10 volumes

You’re basically building a “monster encyclopedia” section here.

Includes:

  • The Illustrated Bestiary
  • Living with Monsters
  • Behavioral Patterns of Monsters
  • Magical Creatures and Their Spells
  • Ecology-focused titles
  • Dragon encyclopedias

If it sounds like something a monster hunter would carry, it goes here.

1B – Astrology and Divination

Theme: Fate, prophecy, zodiac
Color: Blue (light and dark mix)
Structure: 12 shelves × 10 volumes

Think mystical predictions and future reading.

Includes:

  • Prophecy books
  • Oracle journals
  • Tarot and scrying guides
  • Feng Shui and zodiac texts

If it predicts the future, it belongs here.

1C – Curses and Dispels

Theme: Hexes, curse-breaking
Color: Black with dark red
Structure:

  • 4 large shelves (10 volumes)
  • 8 small shelves (3 volumes)

Split matters here.

Large books:

  • Curse compendiums
  • Ritual sealing texts

Small books:

  • Curse analysis
  • Malediction systems
  • Curse-breaking techniques

This section is easy to mess up because of the size split.

1D – Bard and Music

Theme: Magic through sound
Color: Green / natural tones
Structure: Same split as 1C

Large:

  • Chanting collections
  • Musical magic theory

Small:

  • Hymns
  • Chant techniques
  • Mana amplification via voice

If it involves singing spells, this is the spot.

1E – Necromancy

Theme: Death, undead, spirits
Color: Dark blue / purple
Structure: 12 × 10

Everything here screams forbidden magic.

Includes:

  • Raising the dead
  • Ghost control
  • Ritual design
  • Zombie creation

If it deals with souls or corpses, put it here.

1F – Transfiguration

Theme: Transformation magic
Color: Dark red + brown
Structure: 12 × 10

Covers:

  • Shape-shifting
  • Mimicry
  • Object transformation
  • Therianthropy

If something changes form, it belongs here.

1G – Magical Artifacts and Enchanting

Theme: Items, gear, enchantments
Color: Bright dark blue / purple
Structure: Mixed shelves

Large:

  • Artifact encyclopedias
  • Crafting guides

Small:

  • Enchantment theory
  • Gear repair
  • Relics

Basically the “magic item workshop” section.

1H – Stealth

Theme: Invisibility, concealment
Color: Black
Structure: Mixed

Large:

  • Stealth manuals
  • Detection vs concealment

Small:

  • Shadow walking
  • Invisibility magic
  • Ninja-style tactics

If it helps you not be seen, it goes here.

1I – Illusion Magic

Theme: Mind tricks, perception
Color: Dark blue / purple
Structure: 12 × 10

Includes:

  • Sensory manipulation
  • Hypnosis
  • Reality distortion

If it messes with the mind, it belongs here.

1J – Summoning Magic

Theme: Contracts, creatures, other worlds
Color: Dark blue
Structure: 12 × 10

Covers:

  • Hero summoning
  • Demon contracts
  • Dragon summoning
  • Interdimensional magic

Anything involving calling something into existence fits here.

First Floor Part 2

These are easier once you understand patterns.

1K – Healing Magic

Color: White + red
Focus: Recovery and support

Includes:

  • Healing spells
  • Anti-poison
  • Mind restoration

Clean, pure, and supportive themes.

1L – Holy Magic

Color: White + gold
Focus: Purification, anti-undead

Includes:

  • Sacred barriers
  • Holy damage
  • Divine research

If it sounds divine or religious, it goes here.

1M – Destruction Magic

Visual Clue: Gemstones on covers
Structure:

  • 10-volume shelves
  • 5-volume shelves

Categories:

  • Elemental spells (fire, wind, ice)
  • Advanced magic (dimension, time, gravity)

If it destroys things, you’re in the right place.

1N – Alchemy and Potion-Making

Visual Clue: Circle emblem with a tree

Structure:

  • 10-volume shelves
  • 5-volume shelves

Includes:

  • Potion crafting
  • Herbology
  • Philosopher’s stone
  • Synthesis theory

If it involves brewing, mixing, or transforming materials, it belongs here.

Once you start recognizing patterns instead of memorizing names, the whole system clicks.

At first, it feels overwhelming. Then suddenly, you walk into a section and instantly know where everything belongs.

And honestly, that moment when the light turns blue after fixing a messy section… yeah, that’s weirdly satisfying.

Good luck getting that achievement.
