If there’s one thing I’ve learned after spending a lot of Trait Rerolls in Manhwa Legends, it’s this: not every rare trait is automatically worth keeping.
Some traits completely transform a unit into an endgame monster, while others look good on paper but don’t provide enough value during actual gameplay. Since Trait Rerolls aren’t easy to farm, you definitely don’t want to waste hundreds of them chasing the wrong upgrade.
This tier list ranks every trait based on its overall usefulness in Story Mode, Infinite, Raids, Bosses, and long-term progression. I’ll also explain which units benefit the most from each one so you know when it’s worth keeping a trait or rolling again.
S Tier Traits (Best Overall)
These are the traits almost every player hopes to roll. If you get one of these on your main DPS, think twice before rerolling.
Legend
Effects
- +300% Damage
- -15% SPA
- +15% Range
- Maximum 1 Placement
Roll Chance: 0.10%
Legend is easily the strongest trait in Manhwa Legends. The massive 300% damage increase alone makes it incredible, but combining that with faster attacks and extra range pushes it far beyond every other trait.
The one placement restriction might sound scary, but most top-tier damage units only need a single copy to carry the stage anyway.
Another reason experienced players love Legend is that it lets expensive units clear enemies much sooner after being upgraded. Units like Ancient, Bomb, White Wolf, and Dreamer become absolute monsters with this trait.
Best On
- Ancient
- Dreamer
- Bomb
- White Wolf
- Beast
- Sung Jinwoo’s Dad
Ruler
Effects
- -10% SPA
- +20% Range
- Changes Element to Angelic
Roll Chance: 0.20%
Ruler isn’t as flashy as Legend, but it’s one of the strongest traits because changing your unit’s element to Angelic allows it to deal with many enemy resistances much more consistently.
The faster attacks and additional range are excellent bonuses that make almost every DPS unit stronger.
If you can’t get Legend, Ruler is usually the next best option.
Best On
- Dreamer
- Bomb
- White Wolf
- Baylord
- Secret Units
Limit Breaker
Effects
- +35% Damage
- -10% SPA
- +25% Range
- +25% Deployment Cost
Roll Chance: 0.25%
Limit Breaker is one of those traits that looks balanced but performs much better than expected.
The increased deployment cost is noticeable early in a match, but once your farm units are running, that downside almost disappears.
Meanwhile, you gain more damage, faster attacks, and one of the biggest range boosts in the game.
Best On
- White Wolf
- Beast
- Baylord
- Bomb
A Tier Traits (Very Strong)
These traits aren’t quite at Legend level, but they’re still fantastic and worth keeping on many units.
Assassin
Effects
- +40% Critical Chance
- +60% Critical Damage
Roll Chance: 0.30%
Assassin is amazing for units that naturally rely on critical hits.
If your unit already has abilities that increase Critical Chance, Assassin allows them to hit incredibly hard.
It doesn’t benefit every character equally, but on crit-focused units it’s one of the best traits available.
Best On
- White Wolf
- Violet Grace
- Bomb
Boss Slayer
Effects
- +20% Damage
- +25% Bonus Damage against Bosses
Roll Chance: 0.35%
Exactly what the name suggests.
Boss Slayer sacrifices a little general damage in exchange for making boss fights much easier.
If your main goal is Raids or difficult Challenge stages, this trait performs extremely well.
Best On
- Chae-In
- Sung Jinwoo’s Dad
- Dreamer
Swiftness
Effects
- -10% SPA
- Every fourth attack strikes twice.
Roll Chance: 0.50%
Swiftness is surprisingly strong.
The faster attack speed is already valuable, but the double-hit mechanic increases your overall DPS even further.
Some units benefit from this much more than raw damage because their passives activate every time they attack.
Best On
- White Wolf
- Beast
- Ancient
B Tier Traits (Good Choices)
These aren’t game-changing, but they’re definitely worth keeping if you don’t have hundreds of Trait Rerolls available.
Hustler
Effects
- Farm units earn 20% more Won.
- +20% Won from takedowns.
Roll Chance: 2%
If you’re using Lloyd or Mint, Hustler is probably the best trait you can realistically get.
Many players make the mistake of chasing Legend on farm units.
Don’t.
Extra income throughout the match is much more valuable than increasing your farm’s damage.
Best On
- Lloyd
- Mint
Sunderer
Effects
- +15% Damage
- -10% SPA
- +5% Range
Roll Chance: 3%
Sunderer gives a little bit of everything.
While none of the bonuses are huge individually, together they create a very solid DPS increase.
Most early-game players should be perfectly happy keeping this trait.
Exposure
Effects
- +25% Damage against enemies affected by status effects.
- Status effects deal 10% more damage.
Roll Chance: 4%
Exposure becomes much stronger if your team constantly applies:
- Burn
- Bleed
- Shock
- Stun
- Poison
Without those effects, it’s fairly average.
With the right team, however, the damage increase becomes noticeable.
Best On
- Status-heavy teams
- Raid compositions
Ranger
Effects
- +25% Range
Roll Chance: 5%
Range is always useful.
More range means attacking enemies earlier, covering larger parts of the map, and positioning units more easily.
Although Ranger doesn’t increase damage directly, it’s still better than many common traits.
Verdict: Great quality-of-life trait.
C Tier Traits (Average)
These traits help early on but are usually replaced once you start farming Mythics.
Marksman III
Effect: +15% Range
A simple range increase that’s useful early but gets outclassed later.
Fighter III
Effect: +12.5% Damage
A decent beginner trait that provides a small but noticeable DPS increase.
Rogue III
Effect: -10% SPA
Attack speed is always useful, making Rogue III arguably the strongest of the Tier III basic traits.
D Tier Traits (Temporary)
You’ll probably use these while progressing through Story Mode, but don’t spend resources keeping them.
Marksman II
Provides a moderate range increase.
Fighter II
Offers a small damage boost.
Rogue II
Slightly increases attack speed.
All three are fine for early progression but shouldn’t be your long-term goal.
E Tier Traits (Reroll These)
These traits are extremely common and provide very small bonuses.
Marksman I
Only increases range by 10%.
Fighter I
Adds just 7.5% damage.
Rogue I
Reduces SPA by only 5%.
They’re better than having no trait at all, but you’ll replace them quickly.
Best Traits for Every Role
| Role | Best Trait |
|---|---|
| Main DPS | Legend |
| Boss Killer | Legend / Boss Slayer |
| Infinite Mode | Legend |
| Story Mode | Legend / Limit Breaker |
| Farm Units | Hustler |
| Critical DPS | Assassin |
| Status Teams | Exposure |
| Budget DPS | Sunderer |
Which Traits Should You Keep?
Here’s the advice I’d give if you’re low on Trait Rerolls:
- Legend → Always keep.
- Ruler → Keep.
- Limit Breaker → Keep.
- Assassin → Keep on crit units.
- Boss Slayer → Keep for Raid units.
- Swiftness → Usually worth keeping.
- Hustler → Keep only on Lloyd or Mint.
- Sunderer → Good temporary trait.
- Everything below that can eventually be rerolled once you have enough Trait Rerolls.
If you’re serious about building a powerful account, Legend should be your long-term goal for almost every main damage dealer. It offers the biggest overall increase and remains the best trait for nearly all endgame content.
For players who are still progressing, don’t feel pressured to chase ultra-rare traits immediately. A Sunderer, Swiftness, or even Assassin can comfortably carry you through Story Mode while you save Trait Rerolls for your permanent units. The biggest mistake new players make is rerolling endlessly on units they’ll eventually replace—save those rerolls for characters you know you’ll use in the long run.
