Sanctuaries are an important part of Nimbit Frontier because they let you release your Nimbits into environments that suit their personalities, traits, and skills. Choosing the right sanctuary is not simply about sending a Nimbit to whichever area has space available. Each environment has its own preferred traits and skills, and matching your Nimbits to those preferences can help you earn better sanctuary rewards.
There are currently four main sanctuaries to work with: Sunkissed Valley, Windchasm Basin, Icestone Crag, and Moontide Marsh. Each one has three reward levels, so it is worth paying attention to what each environment wants before deciding which Nimbits to release there.

Moontide Marsh

Understanding Nimbit Traits
Traits are important when deciding which sanctuary is the best destination for a particular Nimbit.
Each sanctuary has its own preferred traits, and understanding what contributes to those traits can make it easier to create a good match.
You do not necessarily need every preferred trait on one Nimbit. However, when a Nimbit naturally matches several of a sanctuary’s preferences, that sanctuary is generally the better place to release it.
Adaptable
Adaptable is a preferred trait for Icestone Crag and Moontide Marsh.
The listed factor associated with Adaptable is food diversity.
This means the variety of food available in the sanctuary contributes toward this trait.
If you are trying to support Adaptable Nimbits, pay attention to the diversity of food available rather than relying on a single food source.
Energetic
Energetic is a preferred trait for Icestone Crag.
The current guide does not list a specific factor for this trait, so there is no additional environmental requirement to work around here.
If you have an energetic Nimbit, Icestone Crag is one of the environments where that trait is specifically preferred.
Gentle
Gentle is a preferred trait for Sunkissed Valley.
The factors associated with Gentle are low fauna and high humidity.
This means the surrounding environment contributes toward creating the conditions associated with the trait.
When working with Sunkissed Valley, keep those environmental factors in mind if you are trying to encourage the right conditions for your Nimbits.
Hardy
Hardy is preferred by Icestone Crag.
The listed factors are low humidity and low rockiness.
If you are working toward a Nimbit setup that favors Hardy, these environmental conditions are worth keeping in mind when developing the sanctuary.
Joyful
Joyful is a preferred trait for Sunkissed Valley.
The main factors listed for Joyful are high welfare and frequently petting the Nimbit.
This is one of the more straightforward traits to understand because it is directly connected to the wellbeing and attention you give your Nimbits.
If you are trying to support Joyful Nimbits, keep their welfare high and make sure you interact with them regularly.
Nimble
Nimble is a preferred trait for Windchasm Basin.
The current guide does not list a specific environmental factor for Nimble.
If you have a Nimbit with this trait, Windchasm Basin is therefore one of the natural sanctuary choices for it.
Nurturing
Nurturing is preferred by Moontide Marsh.
No specific factor is currently listed for this trait, but the sanctuary itself favors Nurturing Nimbits.
If you have a Nimbit with a nurturing personality, Moontide Marsh should be one of the first places you consider.
Observant
Observant is preferred by Windchasm Basin.
No specific factor is currently provided for this trait.
The trait nevertheless fits naturally with Windchasm Basin’s other preferences, particularly its preference for Solitary and Nimble Nimbits.
Patient
Patient is useful in both Sunkissed Valley and Windchasm Basin.
The listed factors for Patient are low flora and low fauna.
This makes Patient one of the more flexible traits because it is preferred by two different sanctuaries.
If you have a Nimbit with Patient as one of its stronger traits, you have more freedom when deciding where to release it.
Social
Social is preferred by both Sunkissed Valley and Icestone Crag.
No specific environmental factor is currently listed for Social.
This is another flexible trait because it fits two different sanctuaries.
When choosing between the two, look at the Nimbit’s other traits and skills. A Social Nimbit with Grooming or Bathing naturally fits Sunkissed Valley, while one with Sheltering or Hibernation may be better suited to Icestone Crag.
Solitary
Solitary is preferred by Windchasm Basin.
No specific factor is currently listed for this trait.
This makes Windchasm Basin the obvious choice when you have a Nimbit that prefers being alone and also has other traits associated with the sanctuary.
Stealthy
Stealthy is preferred by Moontide Marsh.
The listed factors are high shade and high flora.
If you are trying to support a Stealthy Nimbit, the environment should provide plenty of shade and vegetation.
This also fits the overall character of Moontide Marsh, which favors Nurturing, Territorial, and Stealthy Nimbits.
Territorial
Territorial is another preferred trait for Moontide Marsh.
The listed factor for Territorial is having different types of Nimbits.
This means the variety of Nimbit types within the sanctuary can influence the trait.
If you are working toward Territorial, consider maintaining a more diverse group rather than filling the sanctuary with only one type.
Matching Nimbits to Sanctuaries
When deciding where to release a Nimbit, do not look at only one trait.
For example, a Nimbit that is Patient, Gentle, Social, and has Grooming fits Sunkissed Valley extremely well because several of its characteristics match the sanctuary’s preferences.
A Nimbit that is Nimble, Patient, Observant, and Solitary is a much more natural fit for Windchasm Basin.
For Icestone Crag, look for combinations involving Social, Hardy, Adaptable, and Energetic, especially if the Nimbit also has Sheltering or Hibernation.
For Moontide Marsh, prioritize combinations involving Nurturing, Adaptable, Stealthy, and Territorial, with Courtship or Vocalization being particularly suitable skills.
This approach is much better than simply placing Nimbits wherever you have available space.

Best Way to Approach Sanctuary Progression
The easiest way to manage sanctuaries is to stop thinking of them as simple places where you dump unwanted Nimbits.
Instead, treat each sanctuary as an environment with its own requirements.
Before releasing a Nimbit, check its traits and skills and compare them with the sanctuary’s preferences.
If it matches several preferred traits and skills, it is a strong candidate for that sanctuary.
You should also pay attention to environmental factors when they are listed. Traits such as Gentle, Hardy, Joyful, Patient, Stealthy, and Territorial have specific factors mentioned in the current information, so the surrounding sanctuary conditions can matter when you are trying to develop those characteristics.
Most importantly, do not feel like you have to perfectly optimize every Nimbit immediately. Early on, simply matching several preferred characteristics is a good start. As you gain more Nimbits and understand the environments better, you can become more selective about which creatures you release into each sanctuary.
The four sanctuaries each serve a different purpose, and their rewards cover everything from farming and habitat blueprints to new hires, combat upgrades, repairs, and shops. Matching your Nimbits correctly therefore helps you progress toward the rewards while also making better use of the creatures you have available.
