REANIMAL The Prisoner DLC Achievements Guide – Walkthrough

If you’re trying to 100% the REANIMAL The Prisoner DLC, you’re probably going to notice one thing pretty quickly: most of the achievements aren’t difficult, but they’re very easy to walk past without realizing it.

There are 10 achievements in total, and 9 of them are missable. The good news is that you don’t need to replay the entire DLC if you mess one up. Checkpoint Select makes cleanup much easier.

I went through the achievement list and broke everything down below, including where to find the posters, suitcases, stalking shadows, and those annoying petrified Spider Kids. So if you’re trying to get all 10 achievements in one run, keep this guide open while you play.

REANIMAL The Prisoner DLC Achievements Guide – Walkthrough

Before getting into the individual achievements, here’s what you’re looking at:

  • Total achievements: 10
  • Missable: 9
  • Difficulty: Around 2/10
  • Time required: Approximately 1 hour
  • Playthroughs needed: 1
  • Online achievements: None
  • Cleanup: Yes, using Checkpoint Select
  • Difficulty-related achievements: None

The biggest thing I’d recommend is not rushing through the DLC. A few of the achievements require you to interact with things that look completely optional, so it’s very easy to walk right past them.

One Down – Complete The Prisoner DLC

This is the easiest achievement on the list because there’s nothing special you need to do.

Simply play through The Prisoner DLC and finish the story. Once you’ve completed the DLC, One Down will unlock automatically.

There’s no collectible requirement attached to this one, so you can just focus on getting through the story.

Missable: No

Into the Dark – Release the Dying Rabbit

This one is easy to miss because the rabbit isn’t exactly sitting somewhere you naturally need to visit.

You’ll want to keep an eye out for this during the second subway station section.

After you’ve obtained the Keycard, make your way back toward the train station. At the bottom of the area, head left and drop down onto the train tracks.

You’ll find a door with a slot beside it. Interact with the slot and let your companion open the door for you.

Once you’re inside, head left and go down the stairs. At the bottom, you’ll find a dying rabbit.

Interact with it to put the rabbit out of its misery, and Into the Dark should unlock.

It’s a pretty grim little moment, but thankfully the achievement itself doesn’t require anything complicated.

Missable: Yes

Smile for the Camera – Photograph The Soldier

You’ll need to wait until the section in the mall where the body-travel mechanic is introduced.

Once you have the camera, return to the area around the gap you previously had to jump across to reach the store.

Just before the gap, look for a soldier stand-in/cutout.

Here’s the important part: don’t simply interact with the cutout yourself.

Instead, position The Soldier so that he’s looking through the cutout. Once he’s lined up properly, take a picture of him with your camera.

If everything is positioned correctly, the achievement will unlock.

This is one of those achievements where the game doesn’t exactly scream “DO THIS NOW,” so it’s worth remembering before you move too far ahead.

Missable: Yes

Warm Bodies – Sit Beside the Fire

You’ll get your chance for this one after the fight with the flamethrower enemy.

Eventually, you’ll reach a room with a burning fireplace, two chairs, and bookshelves behind them.

Before you interact with the bookshelves, stop for a second.

Walk over to one of the chairs in front of the fireplace and sit down. The camera will move around, and shortly afterward Warm Bodies will unlock.

That’s literally all you need to do.

It’s also a good example of why you shouldn’t always assume every chair or environmental object is just decoration in this DLC.

Missable: Yes

Remains of the Day – Sit at the Bomb Crater

After the fireplace section, continue through the DLC until you reach a very tall ladder.

Climb all the way to the top. After the following cutscene, keep moving forward toward the orange glow.

At this point, you’ll normally be following the broken road and crossing the beam. Don’t do that just yet.

Instead, move toward the right side and keep following that route.

Eventually, you’ll find a barrel with a fire burning inside it. There’s also what looks like a small radio nearby.

Move toward the edge of the area and interact with it to sit down.

Once your character sits there, Remains of the Day will unlock.

This is another one that’s extremely easy to miss if you’re simply following the obvious path.

Missable: Yes

Super Fly Poster – Find All 6 Posters

This is one of the bigger collectible achievements in The Prisoner DLC.

You need to put up all six posters. Fortunately, if you miss one, you can use Checkpoint Select later instead of replaying everything.

Here’s where to find them.

Poster #1

You’ll encounter this one near the beginning of the DLC.

Once you’re able to walk around, head toward the smoke and fire. Cross the beam to the left.

Before continuing through the hole in the wall, look toward the right where you’ll see a bunch of red posters.

Interact with the column there. Your character will be lifted up, allowing you to place the first poster.

Poster #2

Continue until you reach the large entrance to the department store/mall.

Instead of going through the rotating entrance, head left.

You’ll need to cross one of the thin beams. Continue left until the camera shifts and you see two bulletin boards.

Interact with the left bulletin board to put up Poster #2.

Poster #3

Once you’re inside the mall, go upstairs to the second level.

You’ll eventually enter a department store where you’ll see a mannequin holding a key that you can’t reach yet.

Go toward the right side of the room and move toward the screen.

Look for some red posters on the ground. From there, head right through the clothing area and you’ll discover a small hidden room.

Interact with the red posters on the wall to place the third poster.

Poster #4

Keep playing until you fight the flamethrower enemy.

After defeating him, pick up a grenade from the area where his body was.

Go left and throw the grenade at the cabinet. Once the cabinet is destroyed, interact with the opening in the wall to enter the hidden area.

Inside, look toward the red posters in the background and interact with them.

That’s Poster #4.

Poster #5

Continue until you reach the subway station.

After completing that section, you’ll board a train and arrive at another subway station.

Once you get off the train, head all the way left and move toward the screen.

You’ll find a bulletin board/sign next to a bench. Interact with the left side of the board to put up Poster #5.

Poster #6

For the final poster, continue until you leave the subway station through the turnstile at the top of the stairs.

Once you’re outside, head toward the top-right portion of the area.

You’ll find another bulletin board there.

Interact with it to place the sixth and final poster, unlocking Super Fly Poster.

Missable: Yes

Definition of Insanity – Get Killed by Both Suitcase Traps

This achievement is a little different from the others.

There are two specific exploding suitcases, and you actually need to let both of them kill you.

Don’t worry about losing progress. After each explosion, you’ll respawn nearby.

Exploding Suitcase #1

Continue until you’ve encountered the flamethrower enemy.

After defeating him, pick up the grenade near his body.

Go to the right side of the area and throw the grenade at the door. Once the door is destroyed, go through it.

Inside, move slightly to the right and look for a partially opened suitcase with a red light.

Interact with it and let it explode.

You’ll be killed and respawn nearby.

Exploding Suitcase #2

After dealing with the first suitcase, continue through the DLC until you reach the subway/metro station.

You’ll know you’re there when you drop into the area and land on top of a train car.

Drop down and head toward the right side of the station, but don’t drop off the edge.

Instead, move away from the screen.

You’ll find another suitcase with a blinking red light.

Open it and let it explode.

Once you’ve been killed by both suitcase traps, Definition of Insanity will unlock.

Missable: Yes

The Blood Hound – Find All 6 Opened Suitcases

For this achievement, you’re looking for six suitcases.

You need to open and photograph them.

One useful trick here is to pay attention to the rats. When you see them, follow them. They can lead you toward some of the suitcase locations.

You can also use Checkpoint Select later if you miss one.

Suitcase #1

After obtaining the camera, return to the area where you’re getting the key from the mannequin.

Head left and leave through the door you originally entered through.

The suitcase is directly outside the door.

Open it and take a photograph.

Suitcase #2

After defeating the flamethrower enemy, grab the grenade and throw it at the door on the right side.

Go through the doorway.

The suitcase is immediately inside, against the wall.

Open it and photograph it.

Suitcase #3

After opening the secret bookshelf, continue through the hallway with the tripwires.

You’ll eventually reach a tall ladder.

Before climbing it, look toward the right side of the ladder.

You’ll find another suitcase there.

Suitcase #4

After dropping into the subway station, move toward the far end of the area.

Look for the remains of the collapsed subway stairs.

The suitcase is located at the bottom of the collapsed section.

Suitcase #5

After taking the train to the next subway station, head through the area with the spider enemies.

Once you’ve dealt with them, go right and jump through the window that the final spider came through.

Inside the room, move toward the screen and check the corner.

You’ll find the fifth suitcase there.

Suitcase #6

After leaving the subway station through the turnstile, you’ll eventually see a truck with tripwires attached to it.

Before heading toward the truck, go left.

There’s a car on that side, and the final suitcase is behind it.

Open it and take the final photograph.

Once all six have been opened and photographed, The Blood Hound should unlock.

Missable: Yes

Frame Fatale – Photograph All 6 Stalking Shadows

This is another camera-based collectible achievement.

There are six stalking shadows hidden throughout the DLC. You won’t always see them normally, so you’ll need to use your camera flash to reveal them.

Shadow #1

After activating the sprinkler, look for the broken tank inside the mall.

Rotate the tank’s gun completely to the left, then climb up.

Open the bay door and enter the arcade.

Head toward the back wall, between the two rows of arcade machines.

Take a picture there and the hidden shadow will appear.

Shadow #2

You’ll find this one in the dark basement after opening the bookshelf door.

Go down the first set of stairs.

Aim your camera toward the corner near the stack of posters/books and use the flash.

The shadow will be revealed.

Shadow #3

While crossing the destroyed landscape, look for a bus on the left with a car across from it.

Face the car and take a photograph.

The stalking shadow will appear in the picture.

Shadow #4

This one is located on the subway platform around the area with the ODE puzzle.

Look for the stack of suitcases.

Point your camera at them and take a picture to reveal the shadow.

Shadow #5

After riding the train to the next subway station, move away from the screen and head up the damaged subway stairs.

At the top, you’ll find a door you can interact with.

Before going through the door, head left and look for the suitcases in the corner.

Take a picture of them to reveal Shadow #5.

Shadow #6

The final shadow appears shortly after you leave the subway station.

As you head up the stairs, go right.

You’ll see a car sitting on the ledge.

Take a photograph of it to reveal the final stalking shadow.

Once you’ve photographed all six, Frame Fatale will unlock.

Missable: Yes

Dust Buster – Shatter All 6 Petrified Spider Kids

Finally, we have Dust Buster.

There are six petrified Spider Kids scattered throughout the later parts of the DLC. You’ll need the axe to destroy them, so don’t worry if you can’t find any earlier in the story.

Once you’ve obtained the axe, start looking for these six locations.

Spider Kid #1

After getting the axe, leave the train car.

Move away from the screen and climb back onto the train cars.

Return to the hatch, but don’t interact with the hatch itself.

Instead, interact on the left side of the hatch.

Your companion will break the first petrified Spider Kid for you.

Spider Kid #2

Jump down from the train car and move toward the screen.

Continue past the vending-machine-like object.

On the left side, near the benches, you’ll find a partially open door.

Interact with it to squeeze through and enter another train car.

Once inside, move away from the screen and look in the corner for Spider Kid #2.

Use the axe to smash it.

Spider Kid #3

Immediately after taking the train to the next subway station, you’ll find the door on your left blocked.

Instead, move toward the screen and leave through the first available train door.

As you exit, look beyond the railing.

The third petrified Spider Kid is sitting there.

Go around or jump over the railing and smash it.

Spider Kid #4

Continue until you’ve restored the power and can leave the subway station through the turnstile.

After going through the turnstile, turn around and head back away from the screen.

You’ll find a clock and several payphones.

Look between the first and second payphones.

The fourth Spider Kid is wedged there.

Spider Kid #5

Head left and go up the stairs toward the outside.

At the top, go right and then backtrack toward the stairs.

You’ll see a car hanging over the staircase.

Go around to the other side of the car and you’ll find Spider Kid #5.

Smash it with the axe.

Spider Kid #6

Continue through the DLC until you pass the truck covered with tripwires.

After dropping down past the truck, the road will start tilting and collapsing.

Jump across the gap and get lifted up.

At the top, head left.

Before you pass the car, look beside it for the final petrified Spider Kid.

Have your companion break it, and you’ll finish the collection.

Once all six have been destroyed, Dust Buster will unlock.

Missable: Yes

How to Get 100% in The Prisoner DLC

The good thing about this DLC is that you don’t need to stress too much if you miss something.

The majority of the achievements are technically missable, but Checkpoint Select gives you a way to go back and clean up anything you skipped.

If you’re going for everything in a single run, though, I’d pay particular attention to the posters, suitcases, stalking shadows, and Spider Kids. Those are the collectibles where you’re most likely to accidentally move on without realizing you’ve left something behind.

The smaller interaction-based achievements are also worth keeping in mind. Sitting by the fireplace, taking the Soldier’s picture, releasing the rabbit, and sitting at the bomb crater aren’t things the game forces you to do, so they’re very easy to overlook.

Take your time, keep an eye on the environment, and you should be able to grab all 10 The Prisoner DLC achievements without too much trouble.
