Roblox Gakuran Phone Guide – How to Use Camera, Messages

The phone is one of the most useful tools you’ll have in Gakuran. It isn’t just there for texting friends—instead, it acts as your social hub, payment app, camera, game console, and personal information center all in one place.

As you spend more time exploring the city, meeting new people, and taking on jobs, you’ll end up using your phone constantly. Learning what each app does early on will make navigating the game much easier.

Messages

The Messages app lets you text other players from anywhere in the game. You don’t need to stand next to someone or even be in the same area to continue a conversation.

Before you can send messages, you’ll first need to add the player through Social Link. Once you’ve exchanged contact information, they’ll automatically appear in your Contacts list.

Sending a message is simple:

  1. Open your phone.
  2. Select Contacts.
  3. Choose the player you want to message.
  4. Open the conversation.
  5. Type and send your message.

One feature I really like is that conversations are saved automatically. Instead of disappearing after you leave the server, your message history stays available, making it easy to continue previous conversations whenever you want.

Contacts

Think of the Contacts app exactly like the contact list on a real smartphone.

Whenever you successfully connect with another player using Social Link, their information is automatically saved here.

From your Contacts list you can:

  • View saved players
  • Open conversations
  • Start messaging instantly
  • Access supported phone features

As your friends list grows, Contacts becomes the fastest way to stay connected without having to search for players every time you log in.

Social Link

Social Link is probably the first phone feature you’ll use.

Instead of manually adding friends, Gakuran lets players exchange contact information simply by bringing their phones together.

To connect with someone:

  1. Open your phone.
  2. Select Social Link.
  3. Ask the other player to open Social Link as well.
  4. Hold both phones close together.
  5. Accept the connection request.

Once accepted, both players are instantly added to each other’s Contacts list.

If you’re planning to roleplay or regularly play with the same people, it’s worth adding them immediately since messaging and several other phone features depend on having players saved as contacts.

Camera

The Camera app works almost exactly like a real smartphone camera.

You can freely switch between the front and rear cameras depending on what you want to capture.

The Back Camera lets you photograph the world around you, including buildings, scenery, and other players.

The Front Camera is perfect for taking selfies with your character or snapping pictures with friends.

One feature that’s especially nice is the ability to save pictures directly to your Roblox Captures. After taking a photo, simply open the preview and choose Save to Captures, and it’ll be available through your Roblox account outside the game.

If you enjoy roleplaying or creating memories with friends, you’ll probably use this app quite a bit.

Games

Sometimes you don’t feel like fighting or working a job, and that’s where the Games app comes in.

Instead of leaving Gakuran, you can launch several classic mobile games directly from your in-game phone.

Current games include:

  • Snake
  • Flappy Bird
  • 2048
  • Other retro-inspired arcade games

They’re simple distractions, but they’re surprisingly fun while waiting for friends or taking a break between activities. Since the developers plan to expand the phone over time, there’s a good chance even more games will be added in future updates.

Information

The Information app is basically your character’s personal dashboard.

Rather than showing gameplay mechanics, it keeps track of your account and communication statistics.

Here you’ll find information such as:

  • Your unique phone number
  • Current Yen balance
  • Total saved contacts
  • Number of calls you’ve made
  • Total time spent on calls
  • Total messages sent

It’s a small feature, but it’s useful for checking your progress without opening multiple menus.

As you continue playing, these statistics update automatically, giving you a record of your character’s activity throughout the game.

Yen App

The Yen app is Gakuran’s digital payment system.

Instead of meeting another player in person to hand over money, you can instantly transfer Yen through your phone.

The first thing you’ll do is create your own Yen Tag, which works like a username for receiving payments.

Sending money only takes a few seconds:

  1. Open the Yen app.
  2. Search for a player’s Yen Tag or choose someone from your Contacts.
  3. Enter the amount.
  4. Confirm the transfer.

The app also keeps a full transaction history, so you can always check previous payments, incoming transfers, and receipts.

It’s especially useful if you’re buying items from another player, paying someone for roleplay services, splitting expenses with friends, or simply repaying a debt. Since everything happens digitally, you don’t even need to be standing near the other player for the transfer to go through.

At first glance, the phone might seem like just another menu, but it quickly becomes one of the most important tools in Gakuran. Whether you’re chatting with friends, exchanging contact information, sending Yen, taking screenshots, or killing a few minutes with classic arcade games, almost every social feature in the game revolves around it.

As the game continues to receive updates, it’s likely that even more apps and functions will be added, making the phone an even bigger part of everyday life in Gakuran. For now, it’s already one of the best-designed systems in the game and something every new player should take the time to explore.
