Shift At Midnight Achievements Guide – How to Unlock 100%

If you’re aiming for 100% completion in Shift At Midnight, you’ll need more than just surviving each shift. Some achievements unlock naturally as you play, while others require specific actions during hunts or by collecting every weapon in the game.

The good news is that none of the achievements are overly complicated once you know what to do. A few of them can even be completed during your first few nights if you plan ahead.

This guide explains every achievement, the easiest way to unlock it, and a few money-making tips that will make your journey much easier.

Shift At Midnight Achievements Guide – How to Unlock 100%

At the time of writing, there are achievements spread across several categories:

  • Basic Progression
  • Enemy Kill Achievements
  • Ending Achievements

Some unlock automatically, while others require defeating specific enemies or reaching one of the game’s endings.

Basic Achievement Guide

First Blood

Requirement: Kill your first customer.

This is usually one of the earliest achievements you’ll earn.

Simply kill any customer during your shift. It doesn’t matter whether they’re a normal customer or a doppelganger—the achievement unlocks after your first kill.

Still Breathing

Requirement: Survive your first Hunt.

You’ll unlock this after surviving your first Hunt event.

There are two common ways this can happen:

  • Let a doppelganger enter the store, triggering a Hunt.
  • Survive until the game’s first Blood Moon event.

As long as you make it through alive, the achievement is yours.

Locked And Loaded

Requirement: Purchase every weapon.

You’ll need to buy every available weapon in the game.

This includes:

Melee Weapons

  • Brick
  • Baseball Bat
  • Sledgehammer

Ranged Weapons

  • SMGs
  • Shotguns
  • Flamethrowers

The pistol is available by default, so you don’t need to purchase it.

Because weapons can be expensive, this achievement is usually completed during the later stages of the game after you’ve earned plenty of money.

Enemy Kill Achievements

These achievements require defeating specific enemy types that appear during Hunts.

Silenced

Requirement: Kill a Shrieking Doll.

Shrieking Dolls are the small crawling enemies that accompany the main entity during a Hunt.

They have relatively low health, so shoot or melee them before they overwhelm you.

Freed

Requirement: Kill a Demented.

Demented enemies behave similarly to “weeping angels.”

They only move when you aren’t looking at them.

The easiest method is:

  1. Place a Bear Trap.
  2. Turn away from the trap.
  3. Wait for the Demented to move into it.
  4. Finish it off after it’s trapped.

This is much safer than trying to fight one directly.

Last Performance

Requirement: Kill a Marionette.

Marionettes begin appearing around Shift 9.

They’re the creepy jack-in-the-box enemies that require you to wind them before they attack.

If you ignore them for too long, they’ll become aggressive.

Defeat one during a Hunt to unlock the achievement.

Relentless

Requirement: Finish a Hunt within 30 seconds.

This is easiest on a brand-new save.

A quick strategy is:

  • Let the first doppelganger enter.
  • Prepare Bear Traps before the Hunt begins.
  • Keep powerful weapons ready.
  • Focus entirely on damaging the entity as quickly as possible.

Early Hunts have much lower difficulty, making this achievement significantly easier than attempting it late in the game.

Ending Achievements

There are three ending-related achievements.

Empty Home

Unlock this by reaching the Empty Home ending.

Since ending requirements depend on the choices you make throughout the game, it’s a good idea to create a backup save before reaching the final portion of the story.

Grave Decision

Unlock this by completing the Grave Decision ending.

If you’re trying to collect every achievement in one playthrough, keeping multiple save files can save a lot of time.

True Ending

Reach the game’s True Ending to unlock this final ending achievement.

This is generally considered the hardest ending to obtain, so it’s best attempted after you’ve already learned the game’s mechanics.

Best Ways to Earn Money

Money is incredibly important in Shift At Midnight since you’ll need it for weapons, upgrades, and various expenses.

Fortunately, there are several easy ways to increase your income every shift.

Clean Every Mess

Cleaning may seem minor, but the rewards quickly add up.

You’ll earn:

  • $0.10 for every stain cleaned.
  • $0.10 for every piece of trash or body part thrown into the dumpster.

It isn’t much individually, but after several nights, it becomes a reliable source of extra income.

Catch Rats Instead of Killing Them

When you find a rat, don’t immediately attack it.

Instead:

  1. Pick it up.
  2. Throw it into the dumpster.

Doing this rewards $3, which is far better than killing it.

If you kill the rat instead, you’ll only receive money from disposing of the body parts, making it a much less profitable option.

Squash Cockroaches

Cockroaches are another easy source of cash.

Hit them with your mop to earn $0.10.

After they’re crushed, they’ll leave behind a stain.

Cleaning that stain gives you another $0.10, meaning every cockroach is worth $0.20 total.

Spend Tokens on the Prize Wheel

Each night you’ll find tokens around the store.

Use five tokens to spin the prize wheel.

A lucky spin can reward $10 in store revenue.

Once you’ve unlocked every cosmetic hat, any future spin that lands on a hat refunds your five tokens, allowing you to keep spinning without losing them.

Most of Shift At Midnight’s achievements come naturally as you progress, but a few—particularly Relentless, Locked And Loaded, and the ending achievements—require a bit of planning. Focus on learning enemy behavior, earn as much money as possible each night, and keep separate saves before the ending. With those preparations, reaching 100% completion becomes much more manageable without needing multiple full playthroughs.
