Slayer 2 Stone Breathing Guide – Become Gyomei Himejima

In this Project Slayers 2 guide, we are going to become Gyomei Himejima and try to survive as him. The first step is making our character look like Gyomei, followed by unlocking his Mythic clan and learning Stone Breathing.

To unlock Stone Breathing, we need to complete several training challenges, including meditation, push-ups, boulder pushing, boulder splitting, and a parkour dungeon. We also need to obtain the Axe and Mace before the Stone trainer will teach us the breathing style.

Once we unlock Stone Breathing, we can start leveling it up, unlocking new skills, and collecting some of Gyomei’s special drops. These include the Stone Slayer Uniform, Stone Warrior Uniform, Bead Necklace, and the powerful Arc of Justice ultimate move.

I also wanted to test whether we could use this build to complete Final Selection and defeat the Hand Demon. So, let’s go through the entire process, from obtaining the clan and weapon to unlocking every Stone Breathing move.

Slayer 2 Stone Breathing Guide – Become Gyomei Himejima

The first thing we need is Gyomei’s clan. I used the spins available to try and get the Mythic clan, although the process was not exactly smooth. After going through several spins and receiving clans I did not need, I eventually managed to get Gyomei’s clan.

The clan provides several useful abilities and passive bonuses, making the character feel much more defensive and durable.

Here are the main abilities and passives provided by the clan:

Stone Skin Mode

Stone Skin Mode is a defensive ability that reflects some damage back toward enemies who attack the user.

  • Enemies who M1 the user take 15% of the damage they dealt back.
  • The user gains 10% damage reduction.
  • The user receives a 5% movement speed increase.
  • Stamina regeneration increases by 4%.
  • Health regeneration increases by 5%.

This makes Stone Skin Mode useful when you are surrounded by enemies or fighting opponents who constantly attack you. It is designed to make the character more durable while allowing you to continue dealing damage.

Enhanced Hearing

Enhanced Hearing allows the user to stomp the ground and release a circular shockwave. Enemies caught in the shockwave are marked with a golden aura for 14 seconds.

Marked enemies take 25% more damage from the user, which makes this ability useful before using your other Stone Breathing attacks.

Clan Passives

The clan also provides several passive abilities:

  • Pain Resistance: You are not slowed when your health is low.
  • Tactical Intellect: Provides a 25% quest XP factor in repetitive actions.
  • M1 Damage Bonus: Skill damage is stored as a temporary M1 bonus.
  • Damage Stacks: Every 100 skill damage provides three additional M1 damage stacks, which fade after 8–10 seconds.

After obtaining the clan, I changed my character’s appearance to make it look more like Gyomei. The hair was not completely accurate at first, but the overall character design was close enough to begin the Stone Breathing grind.

Finding the Stone Breathing Trainer

Once we have the clan, we need to find the Stone Breathing trainer. The trainer is located around the large mountain area.

From the starting area, head straight toward the mountain and continue down the path. Once you reach the correct location, climb up the mountain to find the Stone trainer.

The trainer is named Kore, and he will not teach us Stone Breathing immediately. Before he agrees to train us, we must obtain a special weapon called the Axe and Mace.

Kore explains that Stone Breathing cannot be learned with empty hands, so getting the weapon is the first major requirement.

How to Get the Axe and Mace

To obtain the Axe and Mace, we need to fight the Stone Trainee. The weapon has a 7% drop chance, so you may need to defeat the boss several times before receiving it.

The Stone Trainee has around 600 HP, which makes the fight manageable compared to some of the stronger enemies in the game. However, the low drop chance means that getting the weapon on your first attempt is not guaranteed.

I tried fighting the Stone Trainee and did not get the drop immediately. After another attempt, I finally managed to obtain the Axe and Mace.

Once the weapon drops, open your inventory and check the miscellaneous or uncategorized section. The Axe and Mace can be equipped from there.

The weapon is quite large and even drags along the floor when you move. It also has its own M1 attacks, so make sure you equip it before returning to the Stone trainer.

Collecting Beast Cores

After obtaining the Axe and Mace, return to Kore and speak with him again. He will ask you to collect Beast Cores before you can begin the Stone Breathing training.

The Beast Cores can be obtained by defeating Beastorn NPCs. To find them, start from Urokodaki’s house and head down toward the area near the gate.

Continue in the correct direction until you reach the location where the Beastorn NPCs spawn. These enemies have a chance to drop Beast Cores when defeated.

If you do not already have a breathing style, fighting these NPCs can be difficult. Make sure you are careful while dealing with them, especially if you are still building your character.

I managed to obtain some Beast Cores from the enemies, although not every defeat resulted in a drop. After collecting the required amount, return to Kore and speak with him again.

The transcript mentions collecting four Beast Cores initially, while the gameplay later refers to needing five. Make sure you follow the requirement shown by the trainer in your own game.

All Stone Breathing Training Requirements

After collecting the Beast Cores, Kore finally allows us to begin the Stone Breathing training. There are several challenges we must complete:

  • Meditation
  • Push-ups
  • Boulder Push
  • Boulder Split
  • Parkour Dungeon
  • Defeating the Stone Trainee

The training activities fit Gyomei’s character quite well. Push-ups help build strength, while the Boulder Push and Boulder Split focus on physical power. The parkour challenge tests your movement and ability to handle the heavy weapon.

Let’s go through each challenge.

Completing the Meditation Training

The first training challenge is meditation. You need to complete the meditation minigame by following the prompts correctly.

The challenge can be slightly annoying because some inputs are smaller and easier to miss. I made a few mistakes during the attempt, but after focusing on the prompts, I was able to finish it.

Take your time and pay attention to the required inputs instead of rushing through the minigame.

Completing the Push-Up Training

The push-up challenge is fairly straightforward. Follow the prompts and complete the required actions.

I made a small mistake during the training, but the challenge was not particularly difficult. Once you finish all the required push-ups, you can move on to the next task.

The push-up training also makes sense for Stone Breathing because the fighting style requires enough strength to handle the Axe and Mace.

Completing the Boulder Push

The Boulder Push challenge requires you to move a large boulder along the path until you reach the end.

This one can take some time, and I found it more annoying than some of the other training tasks. Keep pushing the boulder in the correct direction and continue moving around the path until you reach the finishing point.

The main thing is to stay patient and keep following the route. Once the boulder reaches the end, the challenge will be completed.

Completing the Boulder Split

After pushing the boulder, we need to complete the Boulder Split training.

Make sure you equip the Axe and Mace before starting this challenge. I initially had the wrong weapon equipped, so I had to switch back to the Axe and Mace.

Follow the prompts and complete the required attacks to split the boulder. Once you finish the task, you can move on to the final training challenge.

Completing the Parkour Dungeon

The Parkour Dungeon is probably the most frustrating training challenge, especially if you are unfamiliar with the route.

You need to use your double jumps carefully because the dungeon has a time limit. There are also several levers that must be pulled to progress through the course.

Here are some tips that helped me:

  • Always head toward the side where the lever is located first.
  • Use your double jumps carefully instead of wasting them.
  • Remember that double jumps have a four-second cooldown.
  • Touch the blue flag when you reach the next section.
  • In the section with three levers, plan your route before jumping.
  • Use the double jump to reach the opposite side when necessary.

The dungeon contains different sections with levers. In one section, you need to pull a lever, move to the other side, and then continue toward the next one. Another section has three levers, so you need to move carefully and avoid wasting your double jumps.

After pulling the final lever, reach the end of the course and complete the parkour challenge.

Defeating the Stone Trainee

The final requirement is defeating the Stone Trainee again. Compared to the parkour dungeon, this fight was fairly easy.

Use your Axe and Mace and attack the Stone Trainee until his health reaches zero. Once you defeat him, return to Kore.

After completing all the training requirements, you will finally unlock Stone Breathing.

Unlocking Stone Breathing Skills

Once Stone Breathing is unlocked, open the skill tree to begin purchasing its moves.

The first move is available after unlocking the breathing style. The next move requires 14 mastery, while the final ultimate move, Arc of Justice, requires 53 mastery.

You will also need enough skill points to purchase certain abilities, so continue leveling up and earning skill points as you play.

Seismic Smash and Upper Burst

The early Stone Breathing moves include Seismic Smash and Upper Burst. After unlocking them, I tested the skills against enemies to see how they performed.

Seismic Smash has a different variation when you hold the move down. This version has a decent range and can be useful when attacking enemies from a little farther away.

The skills make Stone Breathing feel powerful, especially when combined with the clan’s defensive abilities.

Farming Gyomei’s Special Drops

After unlocking Stone Breathing, I started fighting the Gil boss to collect Gyomei’s special drops.

The main items I wanted were:

  • Stone Slayer Uniform
  • Stone Warrior Uniform
  • Bead Necklace

The drops are not guaranteed, so you may need to fight the boss multiple times. I received the Stone Slayer Uniform first, but the Bead Necklace took much longer.

I kept fighting Gil and receiving the uniform again without getting the necklace. After several frustrating attempts, I finally managed to obtain the Bead Necklace.

If you are farming for these items, be prepared to repeat the boss fight several times. The drop system can be unlucky, so do not expect to get every item immediately.

Unlocking Stone Wall

After collecting more mastery and skill points, we can unlock the Stone Wall skill.

Stone Wall allows you to catch enemies and attack them with the Axe and Mace. Holding the skill can provide a different variation, allowing you to grab an enemy before striking.

The ability is especially useful when enemies are close to you. However, you need to be careful because demons can keep you trapped in long M1 combos if you remain on the ground for too long.

Stone Breathing has strong attacks, but positioning is still important when fighting groups of enemies.

Unlocking Stone Skin Mode

The Stone Skin Mode can also be activated once you have the required ability unlocked.

When activated, it provides a stat boost and makes the character look more like Gyomei. The defensive benefits are helpful when dealing with multiple enemies or taking damage during boss fights.

I used Stone Skin Mode while fighting demons and combined it with Enhanced Hearing to increase the damage dealt to marked enemies.

Unlocking Arc of Justice

Arc of Justice is the ultimate Stone Breathing move. It requires 53 mastery, along with the required skill points.

At first, I thought I had enough mastery to unlock it, but the skill was still locked. After checking again, I realized I needed one more mastery level.

I returned to fight Gil once again, gained the extra level, and finally unlocked Arc of Justice.

After testing the move on an NPC, the ultimate produced a powerful attack effect and looked extremely impressive. It was the final move I wanted to unlock for the Gyomei build.

Starting Final Selection

After unlocking all the Stone Breathing moves, it was time to attempt Final Selection.

The first task required finding fruit for Rim. The fruit locations were not too difficult to reach:

  1. Find the first fruit behind Rim.
  2. Collect the next fruit nearby.
  3. Pick up the final fruit.
  4. Return to Rim to complete the task.

After finishing the fruit quest, the next task required defeating five lesser demons.

Defeating the Lesser Demons

The lesser demons were not too difficult to defeat using Stone Breathing. I moved from one enemy to another and used the Stone Breathing attacks to take them down.

After defeating four demons, I only needed one more to complete the quest. Once all five were defeated, I could move on to the next Final Selection task.

Finding Killian’s Nichirin

The next mission required helping Killian find his Nichirin.

Travel in the direction shown by the quest until you locate the Nichirin lying on the ground. Pick it up and return it to Killian.

After giving him the weapon, Killian asks you to return to Rim and help heal him.

Healing Killian

To heal Killian, you need to interact with his wounds and complete the healing task.

The process is simple. Follow the prompts and treat the wounds until the task is finished.

Once Killian is healed, the quest continues and you will need to find Muzuro.

Finding Muzuro and Entering the Dungeon

Muzuro will ask you to defeat a Slayer inside a dungeon.

To reach the dungeon, travel toward the marked location, continue down the path, and swim underwater. You will find a secret entrance that leads to the enemy.

The Slayer has around 790 HP, so the fight should be manageable if you have already unlocked several Stone Breathing skills.

I used the ultimate move during the fight to deal heavy damage. After defeating the enemy, collect the key located at the back of the area.

The key is required to continue with the dungeon section of Final Selection.

Completing the Final Selection Dungeon

The dungeon section can be challenging because you need to use your double jumps correctly while searching for the levers.

Just like the earlier parkour training, you should avoid wasting your double jumps. The dungeon contains different platforms and several levers that must be activated.

In the first section, move toward the lever and use the nearby platforms to reach the other side. Make sure to touch the blue flag after completing the section.

The next area has three levers:

  • One lever is located on one side.
  • Another lever is nearby.
  • The final lever is positioned higher up in the next section.

Climb through the platforms, pull the levers, and use your double jump to reach the other side. I made a few mistakes while completing the dungeon, but eventually managed to reach the end.

After finishing the dungeon, return to the required NPC and continue with the remaining Final Selection tasks.

Fighting the Hand Demon

The final part of Final Selection requires defeating the Hand Demon.

I decided to attempt the fight solo using Gyomei’s Stone Breathing build. My plan was to activate Enhanced Hearing and Stone Skin Mode so I could deal extra damage while benefiting from the defensive stat boosts.

The Hand Demon can be annoying because it spawns additional demons during the battle. These enemies can interrupt your attacks and trap you in long combos.

Try to stay close enough to land your attacks, but make sure you block when necessary. Use Stone Breathing skills whenever you have an opening, and activate your ultimate when you can deal reliable damage.

I made a few mistakes during the fight and had to adjust my positioning. After continuing to attack and using the ultimate, the Hand Demon eventually became very low on health.

I finished the fight with Stone Breathing and successfully defeated the Hand Demon.

Final Thoughts

After completing the training, unlocking Stone Breathing, collecting Gyomei’s drops, and defeating the Hand Demon, we were able to complete the entire Gyomei Himejima build in Project Slayers 2.

Stone Breathing feels extremely powerful, especially when combined with the Mythic clan’s defensive abilities. Stone Skin Mode provides useful protection, while Enhanced Hearing allows you to mark enemies and deal additional damage.

The Axe and Mace take some effort to obtain because of the 7% drop chance, and the Stone Breathing training requires patience. The parkour challenges can also be frustrating if you waste your double jumps.

However, after unlocking the complete skill set, including Arc of Justice, the build becomes very enjoyable to use.
