Songs of Glimmerwick Plants Guide – Locations, Seeds

If you are just getting started with gardening in Songs of Glimmerwick, it can be a little confusing to remember which plants you can grow, when they are available, and where you can find them in the wild. There are quite a few different plants, and some are much more useful than others when it comes to cooking, crafting, and making potions.

In this post, we will go through the different plants you can find in Glimmerwick, including year-round plants and seasonal plants from spring, summer, autumn, and winter. I’ll also share some useful gardening tips that can make growing and harvesting plants much easier, especially when you are still in the early stages of the game.

Whether you are looking for a specific ingredient for a potion or simply want to build a productive garden, this guide should help you keep track of everything. So, let’s go through the plants and see what you should be growing and where you can find them.

Songs of Glimmerwick Plants Guide – Locations, Seeds

Before we get into the individual plants, there are a few things I recommend keeping in mind while managing your garden.

Buy Seeds When They Are in Season

Seeds are cheapest when they are in season, so I recommend buying extra seeds whenever you see them at a good price. You can stock up before the season changes and save yourself some money later.

How Sprinkler Plants Work

Sprinkler plants cover a 5×5 area around them. However, you still need to water each sprinkler plant once per day for it to water the surrounding plants.

There is also a useful interaction between sprinkler plants. If you place another sprinkler plant inside the first plant’s 5×5 area, watering one can trigger the other sprinkler as well.

So, when designing your garden, try to place them carefully so you can cover as many plants as possible.

Don’t Ignore Perennial Plants

Perennial plants can be planted once and harvested multiple times. Because you don’t need to keep replanting them, they are usually some of the most profitable plants you can have in your garden.

For the early game, I recommend looking into Cocoa and the Spundlewood Tree. Both can be used to make valuable baked goods that also provide a good amount of mana.

Let Your Garden Work While You Explore

One thing I really like about the gardening system is that you don’t have to stand around waiting for everything to happen.

You can set your axe to chop trunks and your fork to dig holes, then leave the garden and go explore another part of the map. Even though the system can sometimes be a little janky, it does a good job of keeping track of what your garden should have been doing while you were away.

So, don’t feel like you have to babysit your garden constantly.

Adopt a Fox and a Dragon

If you want to improve your garden, I recommend prioritising a fox and a dragon.

The fox can permanently get rid of vermin, which makes managing your garden much easier. The dragon is also extremely important because it is the only way to farm mushrooms.

To farm mushrooms with the dragon, you will need to feed the dragon the mushroom you want to farm.

Get the Clippers in Summer

Starting in Summer, you gain access to the clippers. These are very useful because they give you a chance of getting seeds from wild plants that can also be grown in your garden.

Not every wild plant gives seeds. For example, Wild Thyme cannot be grown in your garden, so you won’t get seeds from it.

The clippers are especially important because they are the only way to get Thistle Seeds. They also make it much easier to grow large numbers of berries.

I highly recommend getting berry bushes because they are cheap and provide a quick way to restore mana. Wild berry bushes take multiple days to grow back, while your own berry bushes can be harvested every one or two days.

Gardening in Songs of Glimmerwick becomes much easier once you understand the difference between one-time and perennial plants. Instead of planting everything you find, you can focus your garden on plants that provide the most value for the way you play.

Remember to buy seasonal seeds when they are cheap, use sprinkler plants efficiently, and let your garden work while you explore the rest of Glimmerwick. Once you get the clippers, start collecting seeds from suitable wild plants, and definitely consider growing your own berry bushes.

With the plant locations and seasonal lists above, you should have a much easier time finding the ingredients you need for cooking, crafting, and potion-making.
