If you’re trying to 100% Spiritstead, you’re probably going to notice pretty quickly that the game doesn’t exactly hold your hand when it comes to achievements. Some are straightforward and unlock naturally while you’re progressing, but others require you to do some very specific—and sometimes rather strange—things.
That’s especially true for the spirit achievements. You’ll be throwing animals into portals, putting villagers in questionable situations, setting things on fire, using lightning on perfectly innocent trees, and generally doing things that you probably wouldn’t normally do in a peaceful village builder.
This guide covers all 25 achievements in Spiritstead, including every 1-star, 2-star, and 3-star spirit, along with the achievements that aren’t directly tied to spirits.
A quick warning before you start: there are a couple of achievements that are surprisingly easy to miss, so I’d recommend reading the relevant sections before getting too far into your playthrough.
Spiritstead 100% Achievement Guide & Walkthrough
Spiritstead’s spirits are much more important than they might initially seem. Once unlocked, they can perform tasks and help you obtain resources that normal villagers can’t handle.
The game divides spirits into three categories:
- 9 One-Star Spirits
- 20 Two-Star Spirits
- 6 Three-Star Spirits
You’ll also need to unlock every spirit in a single playthrough for the Spirits Harmony achievement. You can’t simply collect some spirits in one save and finish the rest in another.
There are three main areas in the game:
- Starting Area
- Snow Area
- Swamp Area
Each area has its own Spirit Portal. Unlocking a portal also gives you the standard spirit associated with that area.
One important piece of advice: don’t leave everything until the end. A few spirit requirements become significantly more annoying once your village is fully developed.
The biggest examples are Mizzrick and Old Kasper.
Mizzrick requires you to build a market while it’s raining at night, so you could end up waiting around for the right weather if you ignore him.
Old Kasper is even more troublesome because you need three abandoned houses, which means keeping your village’s happiness at 0% long enough for villagers to leave.
With that out of the way, let’s get into every spirit.
One-Star Spirits – All 9 Unlock Requirements
The one-star spirits are generally the easiest ones to unlock. Most of them can be obtained naturally while experimenting with the game’s mechanics.
Nibbin
Requirement: Find the first Spirit Portal and reach the first Spirit Temple.
This is basically your introduction to the spirit system. Nibbin is the first area spirit and should unlock naturally while you’re following the tutorial.
There isn’t really anything special you need to prepare for this one.
Peppok
Requirement: Hold a chicken directly over a campfire for 3 seconds.
This one sounds ridiculous, but that’s genuinely what you need to do.
Find a chicken from a chicken farm, pick it up, and hold it directly above the flames of a campfire. Keep it there for around three seconds and Peppok will appear.
It’s one of those achievements where the clue makes a lot more sense after you’ve figured out what the game actually wants.
Wispur Man
Requirement: Throw a villager into the sky.
Pick up any villager and carry them toward the highest point of the map, around the horizon/edge of the playable area.
Then simply drop them.
It sounds like you need to do something complicated here, but you don’t. The important part is getting the villager high enough and close enough to the edge before dropping them.
Styx Jr.
Requirement: Place a villager inside the Spirit Portal.
This one is extremely simple.
Pick up one of your villagers and place them directly inside the Spirit Portal.
Once the villager enters the portal, Styx Jr. should unlock.
Snapkin
Requirement: Build 8 Jack-o’-lanterns together.
Snapkin is connected to the Swamp area, so you’ll need to progress far enough to access it.
Once you’ve unlocked the required materials, build eight Jack-o’-lanterns together in the same area.
You don’t need to overthink this one. Just make sure all eight are placed together.
Wooly
Requirement: Throw a sheep into the Spirit Portal.
Grab a sheep and place or throw it directly into the Spirit Portal.
That’s all there is to it.
This is another achievement where the spirit’s clue sounds mysterious until you translate it into what the game is actually asking you to do.
Flumbo
Requirement: Throw a sheep into the sky.
This works similarly to Wispur Man.
Pick up a sheep and carry it toward the highest point of the map, near the horizon and edge of the playable area.
Drop it there and Flumbo should appear.
If it doesn’t trigger immediately, try moving the sheep a little farther toward the edge before dropping it.
Blazer
Requirement: Hold a sheep directly over a campfire.
Get a sheep from a wool farm, pick it up, and hold it directly over the fire.
Unlike Flumbo, you’re not trying to throw the sheep here. Keep it above the campfire and the spirit should unlock.
Yolkos
Requirement: Put a chicken inside the Food Warehouse.
Pick up a chicken and place it directly on top of or inside the Food Warehouse.
The game is looking for the chicken to be delivered to the storage building, so make sure it’s actually positioned on the warehouse rather than simply dropped somewhere nearby.
Two-Star Spirits – All 20 Unlock Requirements
This is where the spirit requirements start getting considerably stranger.
Some are still easy, while others require specific buildings, animals, weather conditions, or spells.
Mr. Scrook
Requirement: Build a scarecrow, windmill, and wheat crop right next to each other.
Create a small farming setup with:
- A scarecrow
- A windmill
- A wheat crop
Make sure they’re positioned right next to one another.
Once the three are together, Mr. Scrook should appear.
Scruffern
Requirement: Destroy the correct bush near the edge of the map.
This one can be annoying because there are plenty of bushes around the world, but the game is looking for a particular bush near the horizon.
Head toward the edge of the map and look for the bush in the required location.
Most importantly, use the bulldozer to remove it.
Simply interacting with or otherwise removing a random bush won’t necessarily trigger the spirit.
Blumby
Requirement: Place three different types of flowers next to each other.
You need three different flower varieties.
Put all three directly beside one another and Blumby should unlock.
This is a good achievement to knock out early rather than waiting until you’re near the end of your village.
Plop
Requirement: Place three swamp toilets in a straight line.
You’ll need access to the Swamp area first.
Build three swamp reliefs/toilets next to each other in a clean straight line.
Once the three are properly aligned, Plop should appear.
Glintin
Requirement: Unlock the Winter Spirit Portal.
Glintin is the standard spirit associated with the Snow Area.
Progress through the game until you can activate the Winter Spirit Portal. Once the portal is unlocked, Glintin should automatically become available.
Mushin
Requirement: Unlock the Swamp Spirit Portal.
This is the Swamp equivalent of Glintin.
Unlock the Swamp Spirit Portal and Mushin will be added to your collection.
Beezly
Requirement: Surround a tree with flowers.
Pick a tree and create a complete ring of flowers around it.
Sunflowers work particularly well for this, so if you have plenty available, they’re an easy option.
The important part is making the flowers form a proper circle around the tree rather than simply placing a few nearby.
Bluji
Requirement: Place 5 Grim Trees next to each other.
Head to the Swamp and place five Grim Trees together.
They need to be close enough to count as a group.
Once the five are clustered together, Bluji should unlock.
Dr. Barker
Requirement: Drag a dog into the hospital.
Pick up one of your dogs and place it inside the hospital.
Yes, that’s genuinely the entire requirement.
Once the dog is inside the hospital, Dr. Barker should appear.
Polabory
Requirement: At night, place a Roasting Fire beside a Picnic Table in the Snow Biome.
This one has two requirements that are easy to overlook.
You need to be:
- In the Snow Biome
- At night
Then place a Roasting Fire directly beside a Picnic Table.
If you build everything during the day and wonder why nothing happens, just wait until nighttime.
Lurpin
Requirement: Use Lightning Strike on a dog at night.
This requires access to the spell system, which means you’ll need to unlock the large Wizard Tower first.
Once Lightning Strike is available, wait until nighttime and use it on a dog.
It’s definitely one of the more bizarre spirit requirements, but once the conditions are right, it’s straightforward.
Toward
Requirement: Use Lightning Strike on a villager.
Again, you’ll need access to the spell abilities from the big tower.
Select Lightning Strike and use it on one of your villagers.
Toward should then unlock.
Aligato
Requirement: Let a crocodile eat a chicken.
This one takes place in the Swamp.
Pick up a chicken and throw it toward a crocodile. You need to let the crocodile actually eat the chicken for the requirement to count.
So don’t immediately grab the chicken again after throwing it.
Gato
Requirement: Throw a fox into Bucket Fishing.
Head to the Snow Area and locate the Bucket Fishing minigame.
Pick up a fox and throw it directly into the fishing bucket.
It’s another one of those Spiritstead moments where you just have to stop asking why and follow the requirement.
Moonrin
Requirement: Use Heart Power on 3 deer.
You’ll need access to the spell abilities first.
Use Heart Power on three different deer.
Once all three have been affected, Moonrin should unlock.
Tumblo
Requirement: Place 8 flowers around a gravestone.
Find a gravestone and surround it with eight flowers.
Try to arrange them around the gravestone rather than putting all eight on one side.
Once the circle is complete, Tumblo should appear.
Mammoblu
Requirement: Hold a mammoth over a bonfire.
Find a mammoth, pick it up, and hold it directly over a bonfire.
You don’t need to build anything special around it. Just keep the mammoth over the flames until the spirit requirement triggers.
Pottwinsies
Requirement: Throw one villager into a toilet while another villager is using it.
This one requires a little timing.
First, wait for a villager to start using the toilet.
While they’re using it, pick up another villager and throw them into the same toilet.
It’s probably one of the strangest achievements in the entire game, but thankfully it doesn’t take long once you know what to do.
Barkbecue Louie
Requirement: Use Lightning Strike on a tree.
Once you’ve unlocked Lightning Strike from the Wizard Tower, find any tree and use the spell on it.
Barkbecue Louie should unlock immediately after the requirement is fulfilled.
Funtommy
Requirement: Hold Plop directly over a fire.
First, you’ll need to unlock Plop.
Once you have Plop, pick up the spirit and hold it directly over a fire.
Keep it there until Funtommy unlocks.
Three-Star Spirits – All 6 Unlock Requirements
There are only six three-star spirits, but don’t let that number fool you.
Some of these are much more time-consuming than the earlier spirits, and a couple are worth planning around from the beginning.
Mizzrick
Requirement: Build a Market while it’s raining at night.
This is probably one of the biggest time-wasters in the entire achievement list if you leave it until the end.
You need two conditions at the same time:
- It’s nighttime
- It’s raining
When both conditions are active, build a Market.
The annoying part is that you can’t simply force the weather to cooperate. If you’re unlucky, you may spend a very long time waiting for rain to happen at night.
I’d strongly recommend getting Mizzrick as soon as you’re able to rather than putting it off.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking you’ll “do it later” when you’re already finished with everything else. Waiting around for the right combination of weather and time can become incredibly tedious.
Wizon
Requirement: Unlock the Wizard Tower in the Snow Area.
This one is thankfully much easier.
Continue progressing through the game’s story and quests until you unlock the Wizard Tower in the Snow Area.
Wizon should unlock naturally as part of that progression.
Oscar the Fish
Requirement: Catch every fish in the first fishing area.
You need to complete the fishing collection at 100%.
There are ten local fish species to catch, so keep fishing until you’ve collected all ten.
Once the entire collection is complete, Oscar the Fish should appear.
Lozento
Requirement: Unlock every Snow Biome decoration.
This one requires a little more work.
You need to obtain all of the decorations available for the Snow Biome and place them there.
The important part is that you’ll also need to reach 100% completion in the lottery minigame, since that’s tied to obtaining the decorations you need.
So don’t assume you’ve collected everything just because you’ve unlocked most of the Snow Area.
Mr. Bellyup
Requirement: Collect every frog in the Swamp minigame.
Head to the Swamp and complete the frog collection.
You need to collect every frog, meaning the minigame needs to reach 100%.
Once you’ve finished the complete collection, Mr. Bellyup will unlock.
Old Kasper
Requirement: Have 3 abandoned houses after villagers move out.
This is easily one of the achievements I’d plan around before doing anything else.
You need to get your village’s happiness down to 0% and keep it there long enough for villagers to leave their homes.
You need three abandoned houses.
The easiest way to do this is actually very early in a playthrough.
At the beginning, you haven’t invested heavily in your town yet, so deliberately dropping happiness to zero is much less painful. Once Old Kasper appears, you can restore your village and continue normally.
Trying to do this at the very end is possible, but it’s a huge hassle.
You may need to remove things such as:
- Food sources
- Roads
- Streetlights
- Happiness buildings
- Decorations
- Hospitals
- Restrooms
Basically, you’ll be tearing your beautiful village apart just to make everyone miserable.
And there’s another problem: once villagers become extremely unhappy, they don’t want to work. That means you’ll have to carefully manage food while you’re waiting for them to move out.
So, seriously, do Old Kasper early if you can.
Spiritstead Achievements Not Related to Spirits
There are 25 achievements in total, and not all of them involve unlocking spirits.
A few of these will happen naturally, while others require specific actions or even a separate Creative Mode save.
1. The Spirit World Begins
Requirement: Unlock the Spirit Temple.
This is part of the early tutorial.
Once you find the first Spirit Gate and reach the Spirit Temple, the achievement should unlock.
2. Tutorial Completed!
Requirement: Complete the tutorial.
Simply finish Spiritstead’s tutorial section.
There’s nothing special you need to do here.
3. Spirit Collectors!
Requirement: Unlock 2 Spirit Collectors.
Progress through the game until you have two Spirit Collectors unlocked.
4. Fishy Fishy Fish!
Requirement: Find the Fishing Minigame.
You need to purchase the map tile containing the fishing minigame.
Once you’ve unlocked that area and discovered the minigame, the achievement should trigger.
5. A Cold Breeze
Requirement: Unlock the Winter Biome.
This is tied to normal story progression.
Continue working through the main objectives until the Winter Biome becomes available.
6. Devil Thoughts
Requirement: Discover what chickens have in their minds.
This achievement is related to interacting with chickens and discovering their special behavior.
It should come naturally while you’re experimenting with the game’s animals.
7. Fisherman
Requirement: Catch 10 fish.
Use the fishing minigame and catch ten fish.
You don’t need ten different species for this achievement—just catch ten fish.
8. Collectooors
Requirement: Unlock 3 Spirit Collectors.
Once you’ve unlocked three Spirit Collectors, this achievement will trigger.
9. Growth of the Village
Requirement: Have 1,000 gold.
Accumulate 1,000 gold in your village.
You’ll likely unlock this naturally as your economy develops.
10. The Return of the Wizard!
Requirement: Unlock the Main Wizard Tower.
Continue progressing through the main story until the large Wizard Tower becomes available.
You’ll need it for several other spirit requirements too, so unlocking it is an important milestone.
11. Froggies Home
Requirement: Unlock the Swamp Biome.
This is another story-related achievement.
Continue progressing through the game until you gain access to the Swamp.
12. Leave Me Alone!
Requirement: Wake up a sleeping wild polar bear.
Go to the Snow Area and look for a sleeping polar bear.
When you find one, simply click on it.
That’s it.
If you see a sleeping bear, don’t walk past it assuming it’s just decoration.
13. The Restoration of Balance
Requirement: Finish the game.
Complete Spiritstead’s main storyline.
Once you’ve finished the game, this achievement should unlock.
14. The Conqueror
Requirement: Discover all territories in Adventure Mode.
Purchase every available land tile in Adventure Mode.
The achievement unlocks when you buy the final tile.
15. I’m Sitting Pretty
Requirement: Have 3,000 gold.
Accumulate 3,000 gold.
This is another achievement you’ll probably get naturally if you continue developing your village.
16. Cozy Meeting
Requirement: Make 3 villagers sit on the same bench.
Find a bench and get three villagers sitting on it at the same time.
If the villagers aren’t cooperating, you can simply pick them up and place them on the bench yourself.
Once all three are sitting together, the achievement should unlock.
17. Coffee Time
Requirement: Make 3 villagers drink at the same café.
Get three villagers inside the same café at the same time.
Just like the bench achievement, you can pick villagers up and place them where you need them if getting them there naturally is taking too long.
18. The Chicken With Ambitions
Requirement: Put Peppok in the Main Wizard Tower.
First, make sure you’ve unlocked Peppok and the Main Wizard Tower.
Then pick up Peppok and place the spirit on top of the tower.
Once Peppok is there, the achievement should unlock.
19. The Best Customer!
Requirement: Buy at least 50 buildings from Baba’s Bazaar.
You need to purchase a total of 50 buildings from Baba’s Bazaar.
Early on, Baba’s Bazaar has a limited stock. Once those items are sold, the hut can disappear beneath an unexplored map tile.
Later in the game, the Bazaar remains available and sells its items without the same limited-stock restriction.
If you’re going for 100%, keep an eye on this achievement rather than assuming you’ll automatically get it.
20. Ancient Primal Power
Requirement: Restore the first part of the Grand Spirit Sanctuary using only wild animals.
This is one of the achievements I would not leave until the end without checking first.
The requirement is fairly simple once you understand it: when restoring the first part of the Grand Spirit Sanctuary, you need to use wild animals only.
The reason I’m calling this one out is that it’s easy to progress past the relevant opportunity without realizing the game expects a specific approach.
If you’re aiming for all achievements in one playthrough, make sure you pay attention when you reach this section.
21. True Cozy Gamer
Requirement: Place every happiness and decoration building in Adventure Mode.
You need to place every happiness and decoration building available in Adventure Mode.
I’d save this for later.
By the end of the game, you’ll have much more money, resources, and access to buildings, making this considerably less annoying.
22. A Place for a New Beginning
Requirement: Remove all pre-placed trees and bushes in Creative Mode.
This achievement specifically requires Creative Mode.
Start a Creative Mode game and remove every pre-existing tree and bush from the map.
You don’t need to worry about doing this in your normal Adventure Mode save.
23. Spirits Harmony
Requirement: Unlock every spirit in the game.
This is the big one.
You need to unlock all 35 spirits:
- 9 One-Star
- 20 Two-Star
- 6 Three-Star
And there’s an important catch:
All spirits must be unlocked in the same playthrough.
You can’t split the collection between different saves.
Because of that, I’d recommend keeping track of the spirits as you go instead of assuming you’ll remember which ones you’ve already done.
24. The Architect
Requirement: Place 1,000 buildings in Creative Mode.
You’ll need to place 1,000 buildings in Creative Mode.
This can put a surprisingly heavy load on the game, especially if you’re placing residential buildings that create villagers.
If performance starts falling apart, don’t panic. The sheer number of objects can cause the game to slow down significantly.
I’d recommend using buildings that don’t generate large numbers of residents wherever possible.
25. Escape Matrix
Requirement: Lose the game while still in the tutorial.
This is probably the funniest achievement in the entire list.
Start a new game and remain in the tutorial.
Progress until the fairy explains the happiness system, which happens shortly after the hunger explanation.
Then stop your villagers from working in the garden.
Don’t keep the food supply going. Eventually, your villagers will become unhappy and move out, resulting in a game over.
One useful trick is to leave the fairy’s final tutorial message on screen rather than dismissing it if you’re worried about accidentally progressing beyond the tutorial.
Then simply wait.
Eventually, the game should end and the achievement will unlock.
