The Fall of Zorata is a short puzzle-adventure where you uncover the fate of Zorata by combining ritual items, solving alchemical puzzles, and opening a path to the otherworld. This walkthrough covers the complete progression and all achievements, including the easily missed Don’t Touch That Button and Ash Eater achievements.
The Fall of Zorata Walkthrough & Achievement Guide
Before starting, keep these controls in mind:
- E — Interact
- Shift — Run
- Tab — Enable the mouse cursor
- Hold Escape — Skip cinematics
You will frequently need the mouse cursor to combine or select items, so press Tab whenever the interface requires dragging items.
Complete Walkthrough
Enter the Sea Hoard Palace
Start a new game and interact with the Gold Sea Hoard seal.
This begins the ritual and gives you access to the first puzzle area.
Get the Ritual Dagger
Pick up the dagger grip and dagger blade.
Press Tab to enable the cursor, then drag the two pieces together to combine them into the ritual dagger.
Select the ritual dagger with 1, then hold E while interacting with the Gold Sea Hoard seal.
Achievement: Don’t Touch That Button
To unlock this achievement, interact with the Gold Sea Hoard seal before obtaining the ritual dagger.
Afterward, obtain the dagger pieces and combine them normally.
Open the First Room
Insert the ritual dagger into the Gold Sea Hoard seal.
This opens the next room.
Achievement: The Disaster Begins
You receive this achievement for inserting the ritual dagger into the Gold Sea Hoard seal.
Collect the Fragrant Oil
Enter the newly opened room and collect 13 portions of fragrant oil.
Achievement: Hoarder
Collecting all 13 portions unlocks Hoarder.
Create the Summer Gate Fruit
Pick up the following items:
- 4 Ash Powder
- Ritual Oil Lamp
- Fragrant Oil
Select the fragrant oil and use it on the cactus.
Then select the ash powder and use it on the cactus.
The order matters:
Fragrant Oil → Ash Powder → Cactus
Next, select the ritual oil lamp and use it on the candles to the left of the table where you found the ash powder.
Once the lamp is lit, place it in the basket and pull the lever.
You can then collect the fruit from the cactus.
Achievement: Harvest Day
Obtain the Summer Gate fruit.
Open the Otherworld Gate
Go to the newly opened room and examine the pedestal.
Deduce the array and select Array Diagram III — Serpent Array.
Select the ash powder and walk across the array.
Then select the Summer Gate fruit and use it on the altar.
This opens the gateway.
Achievement: Gate-Opener
Open the gate to the otherworld.
Make Zorata Gold Dust
Enter the newly opened area and pick up the copper stone.
Process it in the following order:
- Wash the copper stone.
- Sieve it.
- Add the resulting Gold-Bearing Coarse Sand to the crucible.
- Add acid.
- Hold E to heat and refine the material.
The resulting material is Zorata gold dust.
Achievement: A Fortune’s Worth
Obtain Zorata gold dust.
Draw Otherworld Energy
Return to the array room and place the Zorata gold dust on the altar.
This draws energy from the otherworld.
Achievement: Flowing Light
Draw otherworld energy using Zorata gold dust.
Solve the Balance Puzzle
Enter the newly opened room.
Collect:
- 3 Phosphorus
- 2 Salt
- 1 Myrrh
Go to the scales and place the materials as follows:
Left pan
- 1 Myrrh
- 1 Salt
Right pan
- 3 Phosphorus
- 1 Salt
Completing the balance puzzle gives you the required gem-crafting material.
Achievement: Clever Mind
Obtain the gem-crafting material through the balance puzzle.
Enchant the Gem
Select the Gem Stock and place it into the furnace.
Smelt the ore to create a Gem Blank.
Take the Gem Blank and place it on the enchantment table.
Then select Flowing Light and use it on the enchantment table.
This creates the enchanted gem.
Achievement: Alchemist
Enchant the gem.
Complete the Ritual
Pick up the enchanted gem.
Use it on the ritual dagger located in the middle hub.
This triggers the final sequence.
Achievement: Fall of Zorata
Witness the fate of Zorata.
At this point, you have completed the main story.
Missable Achievement: Ash Eater
There is another achievement that can be obtained during the second playthrough.
Start a New Game.
Progress through the opening sequence:
- Pick up the dagger grip and dagger blade.
- Press Tab and combine them.
- Select the ritual dagger.
- Use it on the Gold Sea Hoard seal.
- Collect 1 Fragrant Oil from the newly opened room.
- Pick up the 4 Ash Powder.
- Pick up the Ritual Oil Lamp.
- Use Fragrant Oil on the cactus.
- Use Ash Powder on the cactus.
- Light the Ritual Oil Lamp.
- Place the lamp in the basket.
- Pull the lever.
- Collect the cactus fruit.
Now enter the newly opened room and find 4 additional Ash Powder.
Select Ash Powder and use it on an array.
Instead of solving the array, repeatedly choose incorrect paths.
Continue deliberately failing the array until you have used all of your Ash Powder.
Achievement: Ash Eater
Use up all Ash Powder.
