The Sinking City 2 Puzzle Solutions Guide and All Codes

The Sinking City 2 doesn’t exactly make its puzzles easy to figure out. Some of them are pretty straightforward once you understand what the game is asking, while others have you wandering around looking for one tiny clue that explains a combination or symbol.

So, if you’re stuck on a safe, combination lock, fuse box, Prism station, or one of the stranger puzzles, this guide has you covered. I’ve gone through the puzzles chapter by chapter and included the codes, correct button combinations, and the important steps needed to actually reach each puzzle.

The Sinking City 2 Puzzle Solutions Gudie and All Codes

A small warning before you start: some solutions can technically be entered before you’ve collected all the clues that explain them. I’ve included those codes here anyway, because if you’re already standing in front of the lock, there’s not much reason to make you run around the map just to rediscover a number.

Chapter 1 Puzzle and Code Solutions

Chapter 1 only has a couple of puzzles, but the first safe is a good example of how The Sinking City 2 likes to hide its answers in the environment.

Apartment 5 Wall Safe Code — 1908

When you enter Apartment 5, you’ll find a wall safe in the kitchen.

The combination is:

1908

The number isn’t random. Head back outside and look above the entrance to the Radio Shop. You’ll find the opening date there, which gives you the safe combination.

Once you enter 1908, the safe opens and you can collect the reward inside.

If you’re following a collectibles or trophy guide, I’d recommend opening this safe immediately rather than leaving it for later. It also contributes to The Inheritance trophy.

Gate Fuse Box Puzzle

The first thing you need for this puzzle is the box of Electrical Fuses from the Radio Shop.

Once you’ve picked them up, return to the Guard Post and interact with the electrical box.

You’ll need to place the fuses into the correct slots. The game doesn’t simply want you to throw them in randomly; the arrangement has to match the correct circuit shown by the puzzle.

Once all the fuses are in their proper positions:

  1. Check that the fuse arrangement is correct.
  2. Hold the button to validate the solution.
  3. Once the box accepts the setup, use the lever on the right.
  4. The gate will open.

If you’re stuck here, don’t worry about experimenting with the wiring forever. The important part is getting the fuse positions correct before trying the lever.

Chapter 2 Puzzle and Code Solutions

Chapter 2 has several more involved puzzles, especially once you reach the Church, Printing House, and Devil’s Reef Hotel.

Trident Puzzle — Church Mystery

The Church puzzle has a few steps, so don’t worry if it initially looks like you’re missing something.

First, obtain the Church Key from the corpse near the blockage switch outside the Church.

Use the key to enter the Church and make your way to the top floor.

There you’ll find the Trident.

Take it outside and head around the graveyard toward the northern side of the Church. You’ll find a strange obelisk there.

Place the Trident on the obelisk.

Now you’ll need to rotate the sections of the puzzle until the symbols line up with the correct pattern.

Once the arrangement is correct:

  1. Hold the button to validate the puzzle.
  2. Lightning will strike the Trident several times.
  3. Wait until the charging sequence is finished.
  4. Pick the Trident back up.

Now return to the top floor of the Church and put the charged Trident back in its original position.

That’s not the end of it.

Head back downstairs and approach the mysterious person near the altar who’s holding the dagger. Take the dagger and place it into the slot on the altar.

This opens the route to the basement.

You’ll have an enemy waiting down there, so be ready for a fight.

Once you’ve finished the encounter, the Church mystery is complete and you’ll receive The Other Gods trophy.

Cursed Press Puzzle

This is one of the puzzles where it’s easy to wonder why the machine isn’t doing anything.

You first need all three Printing Plates.

They can be found in these locations:

  1. Printing Plate C — Inside the Mausoleum in the Church graveyard.
  2. Printing Plate A — In the bedroom of the house reached by climbing over the crashed van at the Printing House.
  3. Printing Plate B — Inside the house north of the Fire Department, after you’ve repaired the crane and moved the whale.

Once you have all three plates, return to the Printing House.

The puzzle is in the small room that becomes accessible after taking the key from the Director’s Office.

Place all three Printing Plates into the machine.

You’ll then have two possible solutions.

Cursed Press Solution — Gold

Turn every square gold.

The reward is:

Cutter’s Sturdy Stock

This is a shotgun accessory that improves damage when attacking enemies from behind.

It’s a perfectly good reward if you want the weapon upgrade.

Cursed Press Solution — Silver

Turn every square silver.

The reward is:

2 Dream Essence

I’d personally recommend taking the Dream Essence if you’re working toward unlocking every Talent.

You can only solve the puzzle once, so choose carefully. The shotgun accessory is useful, but the extra Dream Essence can save you some grinding later, especially since you’ll already need multiple playthroughs for all the Talents.

Regardless of which solution you choose, completing the puzzle unlocks The Red Press trophy.

Room 301 Safe Code — 2137

When you reach Room 301 in Devil’s Reef Hotel, you’ll find a safe.

The combination is:

2137

The game normally expects you to discover the clues for this code later in the Hotel, but you can enter it as soon as you reach the safe.

There’s really no reason to wait if you’re already following a guide.

Open it to receive:

Voss’s Target Grip

You’ll also unlock The Siren’s Call trophy.

Ventilation System Puzzle

You’ll eventually reach the Generator Room, where you’ll find the Ventilation System puzzle.

The solution is:

Button 1 → Button 1 → Button 2 → Button 2 → Button 2 → Button 2 → Button 3 → Button 3 → switch to red → Button 1

The important thing here is not to forget the switch in the middle of the sequence.

So, in a quick format:

1 → 1 → 2 → 2 → 2 → 2 → 3 → 3 → Red → 1

Once you’ve completed it, the ventilation system will be restored and you can continue through the area.

Chapter 3 Puzzle and Code Solutions

The Hospital introduces the Prism system, which means you’ll be solving several similar-looking puzzles throughout the chapter.

Locked Storage Room Code — 1308

Once you’ve obtained the Anti-Rust Acid, head to the Storage Room on -1F.

Use the acid to open the initial door.

Inside you’ll find another locked gate requiring a combination.

Enter:

1308

You technically obtain the clues needed to work this out later in the Hospital, but you can enter the number early if you already know it.

Opening the gate rewards you with Doyle’s Cold Blood and unlocks The Vault trophy.

Blue Prism Station Puzzle

The first Prism station is in the Treatment Room.

Place the Prism into the station and you’ll be able to rotate three separate rings.

The objective is to rotate the rings until the symbols match the correct configuration.

Don’t worry if this one seems confusing at first. Each of the three rings is independent, so it’s easier to concentrate on one ring at a time instead of constantly moving all three.

Once the three symbols line up correctly, validate the puzzle.

This gives the Prism its Blue charge.

Wireless Room Brain Puzzle

When you reach the Wireless Room, you’ll find three Brains in containers.

Talk to all three before attempting the machine. Each one gives you a clue that helps determine the correct frequencies.

Once you’ve gathered the clues, interact with the machine underneath them.

Enter:

13 → 05 → 36

Make sure you confirm each number before entering the next one.

So the complete solution is:

13 > 05 > 36

Complete the puzzle and you’ll unlock The Whisperers trophy.

The machine will also give you 3 Dream Essence.

Yellow Prism Station Puzzle

The Yellow Prism station is inside the Priest’s Room, which is the small room attached to the Chapel.

Place the Prism into the station.

You’ll once again need to rotate the three rings until the symbols match the required configuration.

Once everything lines up, validate the solution.

This adds the Yellow charge to your Prism.

Pink Prism Station Puzzle

The final Prism station is in the Manipulations Room, east of the Maintenance Room.

Place the Prism into the station and rotate its three rings to match the correct pattern.

Once you’ve lined everything up, validate the puzzle.

With the Blue, Yellow, and Pink charges completed, the Prism is ready for the next stage of the Hospital sequence.

Chapter 4 Puzzle and Code Solutions

Chapter 4 has some of the more unusual puzzles in the game. A couple of them are much easier once you’ve collected the relevant evidence, but if you’re impatient, the solutions are below.

Buoy Combination Puzzle — The Drowned

You’ll find the locked Buoy inside the small room attached to the Fishing Shop.

The puzzle involves selecting four symbols in the correct order.

The clues come from:

  • About Ezekiel
  • From Ezekiel’s Wife

The correct combination is:

Lighthouse → Ropes → Starfish → Octopus

Select them in that order and open the Buoy.

You’ll receive Doyle’s Hot Streak, and solving the puzzle unlocks The Drowned trophy.

Memory Safe Code — 6294

After returning the Antikythera to Ma, the timeline changes.

Interact with the Memory Relic on the counter to enter the memory sequence.

You’ll eventually come across a safe.

The game gives you the combination through the phantoms you encounter in the memory, but if you’re here because you just want the answer:

6294

Enter the code and open the safe.

You’ll eventually obtain the Heart of Stone, which is needed for the next puzzle.

Strange Statue Puzzle

After obtaining the Heart of Stone, place it into the Strange Statue in the Abandoned Office.

The statue will reveal several targets that need to be shot in a particular order.

The correct order is:

Kneeling Woman → Octopus → Sea Creature → Time → Jar

Take your time with this one because shooting the wrong target can throw off the sequence.

Once you’ve hit all five in the correct order, the puzzle is completed and you’ll obtain the Heart of Ice.

Sixteen Punishments Puzzle

Head to the Cutting Area on 1F and look for the strange door covered with sixteen numbered buttons.

You don’t need to press every button.

The correct four are:

I → IV → IX → XVI

You can press them in any order.

After selecting the four correct buttons, hold the button to validate.

The door will open and you’ll gain access to the room behind it.

You’ll find Surprise in the Safe?, Pyre’s Squid Barrel, and the crystallized body needed for The Damned trophy.

Shooting the crystallized body also rewards you with 2 Dream Essence.

Locker Room Safe Code — 1496

After completing the Sixteen Punishments puzzle, head to the Locker Room north of the Cutting Area.

You’ll find a safe that can now be opened using the clue from the previous puzzle.

The code is:

1496

It’s basically the same sequence as the Cutting Area puzzle, except the final number is reduced to 6.

Open the safe to get:

Pyre’s Ocularum

Chapter 5 Puzzle and Code Solutions

There’s only one major puzzle left before the final stretch, but it can look quite strange when you first encounter it.

Portal Room Puzzle

Before you can solve the Portal Room puzzle, you need to find the Engraved Pod.

From the Portal Room, take the path heading north.

You’ll have to fight through some enemies before reaching a bridge.

Cross it and check the box on the other side.

That’s where you’ll find the Engraved Pod.

Take it back to the Portal Room and place it into the machine in the center of the room.

Now comes the actual puzzle.

You’ll need to rotate the different sections of the device, including the sides, top, and bottom, until the patterns line up with the required symbols.

This is one of those puzzles where trying to randomly rotate everything can make things more confusing than they need to be. Focus on matching one section at a time and check how the surrounding symbols connect before moving to the next one.

Once all of the patterns are correctly aligned, validate the puzzle.

The Portal will activate.

And that’s basically your ticket to the final stretch of The Sinking City 2.

Follow the newly opened route, prepare yourself for the enemies ahead, and you’ll eventually reach the Final Boss.
