The new Halloween update in Tower Defense Simulator (TDS), called Solar Requiem, has arrived with a brand-new season pass and the Sun and Moon crate. This update brings 20 new skins with some incredible designs, custom animations, unique weapons, and special attack effects.
In this post, we will go through every new Solar Requiem skin, including both the regular and premium season pass rewards and all five skins from the Sun and Moon crate. I will explain how each skin changes from level 0 to max level, what makes its design special, and how I would rate it overall.
Honestly, this is one of my favorite TDS season passes so far. Some of these skins look absolutely amazing, especially the Moon Ace Pilot, Celestial Demo Man, Moon Necromancer, and Sun Accelerator. Let’s check out every skin and see which ones deserve the highest ratings.
Tower Defense Simulator Solar Requiem Update Guide
We will start with the regular season pass skins before moving on to the premium rewards and the Sun and Moon crate.
1. Eclipse Soldier — 6/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 6/10</text>
The Eclipse Soldier is the first skin in our ranking. It features a purple outfit, a hat, a custom gun, and a small backpack. While the design is fairly simple compared to some of the other skins in this update, it still has a nice Eclipse-themed appearance.
Here is how the skin changes as you upgrade it:
- Level 0: The Soldier wears a purple outfit with a hat, custom gun, and backpack.
- Level 1: Black gloves are added to the design.
- Level 2: The skin gets headphones and glasses.
- Level 3: A thicker coat gives the Soldier a more detailed appearance.
- Max Level: The hat becomes more impressive, the purple color gets darker, and the gun receives additional details.
The max-level version also features custom shooting sound effects, with its projectiles replaced by purple lasers.
I think the Eclipse Soldier is a decent skin, and the custom lasers are a nice touch. However, compared to the other skins in Solar Requiem, its design is relatively ordinary.
Final rating: 6/10.
2. Moon Boomerang — 8.7/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 8.7/10</text>
The Moon Boomerang is a huge improvement over the Eclipse Soldier in terms of visual design. It has a faceless, purplish body, pink cloth around its shoulders, and a custom crescent-shaped boomerang.
Its upgrades add more details without ruining the original design.
- Level 0: A purple, faceless body with pink shoulder cloth and a crescent-shaped boomerang.
- Level 1: Black and purple gloves are added, and the boomerang changes shape.
- Level 2: The skin receives additional armor and a strange-looking core in the middle of its chest.
- Level 3: It gains two boomerangs, a wing-shaped forehead sigil, a black and gray weapon design, and a cape.
- Max Level: The skin receives even more black, purple, and metallic details, while the forehead sigil gains wings on both sides.
The attack animations look especially good at max level, with the tower throwing both crescent-shaped boomerangs around.
What I like most about this skin is its consistent design. Every upgrade feels like a natural improvement, and the color palette works really well. It does not have a custom animation, but the model and weapons are already impressive enough.
Final rating: 8.7/10.
3. Clown Trapper — 6.5/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 6.5/10</text>
The Clown Trapper takes a completely different approach with a black and white outfit, a red clown nose, and a banana replacing its usual trap.
Its upgrades gradually turn the character into a more elaborate clown.
- Level 0: A simple black and white clown outfit with a red nose and banana trap.
- Level 1: A small party hat and additional sleeves are added.
- Level 2: The skin receives a traditional clown ruffle around its neck.
- Level 3: The outfit changes to a red and white checkerboard pattern, and the clown hat gains bells.
- Max Level: The other side of the outfit receives black and purple polka dots, while part of the face becomes noticeably creepier.
The skin also has custom-looking traps and different visual designs for its spikes and bombs at various upgrade levels.
I really like the earlier levels because the clown theme is clear and the design is fun. Unfortunately, the max-level version feels too crowded, with too many different patterns competing for attention.
If the final upgrade had kept more of the earlier design, I would have rated it higher.
Final rating: 6.5/10.
4. Butcher Assassin — 9/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 9/10</text>
The Butcher Assassin is one of the best regular season pass skins. It has a white shirt, black pants, long brown hair, and a custom dagger with a hole in its blade.
The skin appears to reference the Butcher Vanity music video, and the design works really well throughout its upgrades.
- Level 0: A white shirt, black pants, brown hair, and a custom dagger.
- Level 1: Black gloves are added.
- Level 2: The Assassin receives a red and white hat.
- Level 3: A black apron completes the butcher-inspired outfit.
- Max Level: The dagger is replaced with a hacksaw, and a small meat icon appears on the hat.
The best part is the custom attack effects. The weapon leaves a red trail when attacking, and its area-of-effect attack also uses a red visual effect.
These details make the Butcher Assassin stand out from skins that only change the character model.
I think the design is clean at every level, and the custom attack effects give it an advantage over the Moon Boomerang. The max-level appearance is particularly good.
Final rating: 9/10.
5. Eclipse Cowboy — 10/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 10/10</text>
The Eclipse Cowboy is where the regular season pass really starts getting impressive. At level 0, the skin already has a purple and golden outfit, a custom golden gun, a large purple fedora, shoulder armor, extra bullets, and an angry facial expression.
Its upgrades make the character look increasingly powerful.
- Level 0: A purple and gold outfit, custom gun, large fedora, shoulder armor, and extra bullets.
- Level 1: Black gloves are added.
- Level 2: Additional equipment is strapped across the chest.
- Level 3: The Cowboy receives a cooler-looking gun and a holster around the waist.
- Level 4: A new animation lets the character hold two guns in an impressive pose.
- Max Level: The skin gains an extremely detailed design, custom model guns with blades at their ends, and a robotic mask with one glowing yellow eye.
The max-level version is easily the highlight. The combination of the robotic mask, golden weapons, and Eclipse colors makes it look incredible.
I also love that the skin includes custom animations rather than relying entirely on a model replacement. It looks great at every level, and the final upgrade is a massive improvement over the Eclipse Soldier.
Final rating: 10/10.
6. Celestial Demo Man — 10/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 10/10</text>
The Celestial Demo Man is one of my favorite skins in the entire Solar Requiem update. It combines knight armor with a starry space texture, six star-shaped eyes, a glowing feather on its head, and a floating blue crystal that replaces the usual grenade.
Its upgrades make the celestial theme even more impressive.
- Level 0: Metallic knight armor, a starry body texture, six star-shaped eyes, a glowing feather, and a floating blue crystal.
- Level 1: Additional armor is added to the hands.
- Level 2: Glowing symbols appear across the armor.
- Level 3: The character gains a different animation, thicker armor, and a crystal that has shattered into several pieces.
- Max Level: One hand glows neon blue, the feather becomes larger and fades toward gold, and additional armor and glowing symbols complete the design.
The attack effects are just as impressive as the character model. At the early levels, the Demo Man throws its crystal, while the max-level version pulls crystals from its chest.
The explosions also feature custom starry effects that look fantastic.
This is easily one of the most creative Demo Man skins in the game. The theme is consistent, the upgrades are meaningful, and the custom animations and explosions make the entire design feel complete.
Final rating: 10/10.
7. Moon Ace Pilot — 12/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 12/10</text>
The Moon Ace Pilot is my favorite skin from the regular season pass, and it is arguably one of the best skins in Tower Defense Simulator.
Instead of simply giving the Ace Pilot a new outfit, this skin completely replaces the model with a magical celestial bird featuring a glowing purple orb in the middle. Even the base of the Ace Pilot becomes a magical-looking spike.
The upgrade progression is excellent.
- Level 0: A celestial bird with a glowing purple orb, a unique base, and a custom flying sound.
- Level 1: A purple tail is added.
- Level 2: No major visual changes.
- Level 3: Neon crescent symbols appear across the wings.
- Level 4: No major visual changes.
- Max Level: Additional floating tails appear behind the bird, its wings become enormous and dramatic, and its trail becomes more colorful.
The sound effects are another major highlight. The bird makes a distinctive noise while flying, and the roaring sound it produces when it stops attacking is an excellent finishing touch.
What makes this skin special is that it completely changes the identity of the Ace Pilot. The design is magical, the effects are memorable, and the max-level model looks nothing like a typical tower skin.
I honestly think this is one of the best Ace Pilot skins in the entire game. The visual design and audio effects are both outstanding.
Final rating: 12/10.
Solar Requiem Premium Season Pass Skins
Now that we have covered the regular season pass, let’s move on to the premium rewards. These skins include some of the most detailed character models and upgrade paths in the update.
8. Demon Pyromancer — 7/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 7/10</text>
The Demon Pyromancer has a muscular body, a molten magma arm, red demon horns, and a demon tail. It follows a fiery theme that fits the Halloween update.
Here is how it upgrades:
- Level 0: A muscular demon with a molten arm, red horns, and a tail.
- Level 1: A red and black helmet with a flaming magma mohawk is added.
- Level 2: The helmet receives a visor covering the eyes.
- Level 3: Additional shoulder armor is added.
- Level 4: The character gains a pair of red demon wings.
- Max Level: The Pyromancer gets a new idle pose and carries a molten pitchfork.
Its attacks include custom fire visuals and sound effects, which are easily the best part of the skin.
However, the max-level version still appears to shoot fire from its hand despite carrying the pitchfork. The earlier upgrades also feel a little less impressive compared to some of the other premium skins.
It is not a bad skin, and the flame effects are nice, but it does not reach the same level as the Eclipse Cowboy or Celestial Demo Man.
Final rating: 7/10.
9. Eclipse Crook Boss — 6/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 6/10</text>
The Eclipse Crook Boss features a dark purple, golden, and black outfit with a small hat and a custom gun. Like the other Eclipse skins, it uses the update’s signature color palette.
- Level 0: A dark purple and gold outfit, a small hat, and a custom gun.
- Level 1: Black gloves are added.
- Level 2: Pink and gold glasses appear.
- Level 3: The character receives a different pose, a larger gun, thicker clothing, and more golden details.
- Max Level: The outfit becomes even bulkier, with additional gold and a black and gold cape.
The skin also features different weapon designs for the Crook Boss’s units, including pistol-wielding crooks and Tommy guns, as well as an upgraded Tommy gun.
I appreciate the effort put into the units, but the main character model does not impress me as much as the Eclipse Cowboy. The max-level version is particularly chunky, and the design does not feel as clean as some of the other Eclipse skins.
Still, the custom weapons are a nice addition.
Final rating: 6/10.
10. Eclipse Engineer — 5/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 5/10</text>
The Eclipse Engineer has a white dress, a custom gun, and a belt featuring a crescent symbol. Its design uses white, purple, blue, and gold details throughout the upgrade progression.
- Level 0: A white dress, custom gun, and crescent-symbol belt.
- Level 1: Purple gloves are added.
- Level 2: No major visual changes.
- Level 3: The dress extends up to the neck, and additional crescent symbols appear on the arms.
- Level 4: Blue and gold details are added to the dress, and the gun becomes larger.
- Level 5: The Engineer receives a fancier layered dress and a captain-style hat.
- Max Level: The gun switches to a primarily blue color palette.
The character model itself looks pretty nice, and the dress has a good amount of detail.
However, my biggest disappointment is that the skin does not include custom sentries. The Engineer still uses the default sentries, which is a major drawback for me because the sentries are such an important part of the tower’s identity.
If the skin had custom sentries to match its outfit, I would have rated it much higher.
Final rating: 5/10.
11. Sun Operator — 9/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 9/10</text>
The Sun Operator is one of the strongest premium skins in the update. It starts with a desert-inspired outfit featuring red, gray, and maroon colors, along with a custom golden gun and a blade on its back.
The upgrade progression adds plenty of armor and accessories.
- Level 0: A desert-themed outfit, a custom golden gun, and a blade on the back.
- Level 1: Additional satchels appear around the waist.
- Level 2: A thick scarf covers the face.
- Level 3: A satchel is added to the knee, the gun becomes larger, and ribbons appear on the back.
- Level 4: Additional golden shoulder armor is added.
- Level 5: The design changes dramatically, introducing copper-gold metal armor, neon yellow lights, and many extra details.
- Max Level: A pointed helmet detail, a floating sun symbol, and a stylish cape complete the design.
The max-level version looks especially good because it transforms the relatively simple desert outfit into a heavily armored, celestial-inspired character.
The gun also changes substantially throughout the upgrades, which helps make the progression feel rewarding.
I think the Sun Operator has a clean design at every level. The only thing missing is a custom animation that would make it even more memorable.
Final rating: 9/10.
12. Eclipse Juggernaut — 10/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 10/10</text>
The Eclipse Juggernaut is another fantastic skin, featuring purple, gold, and red colors alongside a custom gun. It also has distinct designs for its top and bottom upgrade paths.
The amount of detail added to both paths is impressive.
Top path upgrades:
- Level 0: An Eclipse-themed outfit with a custom gun and a belt wrapping around the body.
- Level 1: Red and black gloves are added.
- Level 2: A large backpack with loose hanging belts appears.
- Level 3: The gun becomes much larger and receives a massive star attachment.
- Level 4: The face becomes covered, leaving two glowing purple eyes. The gun grows even larger, and a custom purple shield effect appears.
- Level 5: The backpack becomes flashier, with the belt curving upward.
- Level 6: The gun becomes even more massive.
- Max Level: An animated flag appears above the character, along with a large red crescent symbol and a massive protective shield on the front of the gun.
Bottom path upgrades:
- The character carries the gun over its shoulder and gains additional golden details and armor.
- The backpack gradually becomes taller through the upgrades.
- At level 6, a magical mask covers the face, additional golden armor appears around the neck, and a large stream of ammunition connects the backpack to the gun.
- At max level, the character receives extra armor and spikes, including additional details on the weapon.
Both paths have their own identity, and I love that they do not simply reuse the same final design.
The only disappointing detail is that the top path does not appear to give nearby towers a purple shield effect to match the skin, instead retaining the default orange effect.
Even with that small issue, the Eclipse Juggernaut is one of the best skins in the update. The models are detailed, the weapons look fantastic, and the two upgrade paths feel distinct.
Final rating: 10/10.
13. Moon Necromancer — 11/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 11/10</text>
The Moon Necromancer is easily one of my favorite Necromancer skins in Tower Defense Simulator. It features a gloomy-looking woman with long black hair and a large crescent moon-shaped staff.
Its upgrades transform the character into a much darker, more powerful-looking figure.
- Level 0: Long black hair and a crescent moon-shaped staff.
- Level 1: A moon crown with purple metal details is added.
- Level 2: The skin receives a darker color palette, additional metal armor, and a more impressive crown.
- Level 3: A hood appears, along with a floating metal moon symbol behind the character.
- Max Level: The Necromancer begins floating in the air, and the staff transforms into a scale balancing a sun symbol and a moon symbol. The floating moon gains another layer, making the overall design creepier.
The attack effects are incredible. At level 0, the Necromancer shoots orange projectiles. At max level, the moon fires a purple ray while the sun fires an orange ray.
The graves and summoned units also receive different designs as the tower levels up.
My favorite part is the collection of custom minions at max level, especially the Executioner. The summoned units look fantastic, and they help the skin stand out from other Necromancer designs.
Between the character model, dual-colored attack beams, and custom units, this skin delivers on almost every level.
Final rating: 11/10.
14. Sun Mortar — 10/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 10/10</text>
The Sun Mortar is the final skin in the season pass, and it is an excellent way to finish the collection.
The skin features a white-haired woman covered in bandages, wearing a blindfold and carrying a golden staff. Its upgrades introduce more armor, a new floating animation, and increasingly elaborate golden details.
- Level 0: A white-haired character covered in bandages, with a blindfold and golden staff.
- Level 1: Golden and black shoulder armor is added.
- Level 2: The clothing becomes more complete, with additional golden details.
- Level 3: The animation changes completely, with the character floating and waving the staff around. A helmet with a fantasy-inspired design is also introduced.
- Level 4: White cloth is added over the dress.
- Max Level: The outfit changes to a golden and gray color palette, the staff becomes sharper and more intimidating, and intricate golden designs cover the armor.
The attack effects are just as good as the model. At level 0, the tower launches explosive balls of light with custom sound effects and explosions.
At max level, those attacks burst into clusters of light, creating a beautiful visual effect.
This is easily one of the best Mortar skins in the game. The custom animation, detailed armor, and glowing attacks make it feel like a premium skin should.
Final rating: 10/10.
Sun and Moon Crate Skins
The season pass is not the only source of new skins in Solar Requiem. The update also introduces the Sun and Moon crate, which contains five additional skins.
These designs follow the same celestial themes, with a mix of knights, golden armor, glowing symbols, and custom weapon models.
15. Moon Frost Blaster — 8.5/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 8.5/10</text>
The Moon Frost Blaster looks like a fantasy knight with a purple and white color palette. It has fur around the back of its neck, a detailed helmet, and a weapon that gradually becomes more elaborate.
- Level 0: A knight-inspired outfit with purple and white armor.
- Level 1: Extra helmet details and a stylish cape are added.
- Level 2: Thick shoulder pads make the character look more heavily armored.
- Level 3: The visor becomes more detailed, and additional white accents appear.
- Max Level: The pose changes, the visor opens to reveal neon light, purple feathers appear on the helmet, and the cape becomes more impressive. The gun also becomes longer and more pointed.
The skin does not have custom shooting effects, so it is not as flashy as some of the other crate rewards.
However, I really like the clean knight design and the combination of purple and white. The max-level version looks especially good, and the cape helps complete the overall appearance.
Final rating: 8.5/10.
16. Eclipse Gladiator — 7/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 7/10</text>
The Eclipse Gladiator starts with the familiar red, purple, and gold Eclipse color scheme. It uses a sword-based design and gradually gains more armor and decorative details as you upgrade it.
- Level 0: A standard Eclipse outfit with red, purple, and golden colors.
- Level 1: Black gloves and shoulder armor are added.
- Level 2: A purple and gold fedora appears, and the sword becomes golden.
- Level 3: Additional golden details cover the body, while floating rings are added to the sword.
- Level 4: A mask covers half of the face, and a golden feather and shoulder ring are introduced.
- Max Level: The color palette switches to white and blue. The feather, ring, and sword glow, the face becomes a robotic-looking red dot, and a black and gold cape appears on the back.
The max-level version has a very different appearance from the earlier upgrades, which makes it stand out.
However, I think the final design is a little too busy, and the different colors do not blend together as well as they could. The skin also lacks custom animations.
It is still a good-looking skin, but I would have preferred a cleaner final design.
Final rating: 7/10.
17. Sun Rocketeer — 7.4/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 7.4/10</text>
The Sun Rocketeer features white and red clothing, golden armor, a golden sigil on its face, and a custom golden and red rocket launcher.
Its upgrades add more armor and gradually transform the launcher.
- Level 0: White and red clothing, golden armor, a facial sigil, and a custom rocket launcher.
- Level 1: Red gloves are added.
- Level 2: The pose changes, and a golden sun crown appears on the head.
- Level 3: The launcher is redesigned with a shield-like attachment, and a floating yellow symbol appears behind the head.
- Max Level: The character gains significantly more golden armor, a golden knight helmet, a redesigned four-launcher weapon, and a thick golden and red shield on the back.
The model looks good, and I like how the weapon changes throughout the upgrade progression.
Unfortunately, the skin does not have custom explosions when firing at either level 0 or max level. This is disappointing because several other Rocketeer skins feature custom explosions, and the Sun Mortar demonstrates how much better special attack effects can make a skin look.
The design itself is solid, but the missing effects hold it back.
Final rating: 7.4/10.
18. Sun Brawler — 10/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 10/10</text>
The Sun Brawler is one of the strongest skins in the Sun and Moon crate. It combines a molten, rocky body with sun-themed armor, golden metal, and red gems.
At level 0, it already looks impressive, with a golden ring visible on its back.
- Level 0: A molten rocky body, golden sun-themed armor, red gems, and a golden ring on the back.
- Level 1: Additional golden details appear around the waist, along with a molten ring around the head.
- Level 2: Huge claws are added, the shoulders gain more armor, and the helmet extends farther around the back of the head.
- Level 3: Red cloth wraps around the body and is visible from both the front and back.
- Level 4: A glowing star-shaped symbol floats above the character’s head.
- Max Level: The Brawler becomes much larger, takes on a beast-like stance, and gains a floating golden star-shaped symbol behind its back.
The max-level model is the highlight because it looks much more powerful than the earlier versions. The claws and golden symbols fit the molten theme perfectly.
The skin also looks great while attacking and repositioning.
The only reason I would not rate it above 10/10 is that its animation is taken from the Fallen Brawler rather than being completely custom. It also lacks a custom shockwave effect when repositioning.
Even so, this is an excellent skin with an outstanding design.
Final rating: 10/10.
19. Sun Spotlight Technician — 10/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 10/10</text>
The Sun Spotlight Technician has a golden armored design, a helmet, and a spear. Its spotlight is replaced with a strange floating golden structure that looks more like a magical machine than an ordinary tower accessory.
The upgrades make the design increasingly elaborate.
- Level 0: Golden armor, a helmet, a spear, and a floating golden spotlight.
- Level 1: A different helmet appears, along with red and golden cloth around the waist.
- Level 2: The armor becomes more detailed, extra spikes appear on the helmet, and the spotlight grows taller with animated neon triangles.
- Level 3: No major visual changes.
- Max Level: The design becomes enormous, with two giant spotlights behind the character, glowing neon lights, and a golden throne-like structure.
When attacking, the Technician slams its spear down and burns the enemy.
The burning effect does not appear to be custom, which is the main thing I would change about this skin. A unique attack effect would have made the design even better.
However, the model itself is fantastic. The giant spotlight structure, golden throne, and neon details make the max-level version look completely different from the original tower.
Final rating: 10/10.
20. Sun Accelerator — 11/10
<text color=”secondary” size=”sm”>Rating: 11/10</text>
The Sun Accelerator is the final skin in this ranking, and it is an incredible way to finish the Solar Requiem update.
The character has a body that looks as though it is made of magma, along with red and golden armor and a golden staff resting on its shoulder.
Its upgrade progression adds more spikes, a helmet, molten horns, and floating celestial symbols.
- Level 0: A magma-like body, red and golden armor, and a golden staff.
- Level 1: Additional spikes are added to the armor.
- Level 2: A helmet with a mohawk appears, along with more red and golden armor around the legs.
- Level 3: Molten horns are added.
- Level 4: Floating metallic wings appear, along with a golden and neon yellow star-shaped sigil above the character.
- Max Level: The Accelerator begins flying in the air and flapping its wings. Its staff also looks more impressive, completing the celestial warrior design.
The animations are taken from the Champion Accelerator, one of the coolest skins in the game and one that is extremely difficult to obtain.
That makes the Sun Accelerator feel like an accessible alternative with a similar style. Although the animations are reused, they fit the skin extremely well.
The final design is incredible, and the combination of floating wings, golden armor, molten details, and dramatic animations makes it one of the best skins in Solar Requiem.
Final rating: 11/10.
