Volleyball Legends Update 79 Guide – Season 17, Codes

Volleyball Legends Update 79 marks the beginning of Season 17, and it’s much more than a seasonal refresh. Alongside a festival-themed makeover, the update introduces ranked style bans, major balance changes for several popular styles, a redesigned map, a limited-time 2x Luck Event, and plenty of free Lucky Spins through new codes.

If you’re wondering what’s worth checking out first, here’s everything included in the update.

Volleyball Legends Update 79 Guide – Season 17, Style Bans, Balance Changes, 2x Luck Event & New Codes

Season 17 introduces a colorful Festival theme that changes the look and feel of the game. From cosmetics to the main map, nearly everything has received a festive makeover.

Players can unlock several new seasonal rewards throughout the season.

New Score Effects

Season 17 adds four new score effects:

  • Season 17 Pro Score Effect
  • Strobe Light Score Effect
  • Everybody Dance Score Effect
  • Music Note Rain Score Effect

Each effect adds a unique animation whenever your team scores.

New Emotes

Three new emotes have also been added:

  • Ride a Firework
  • Festival Guitar
  • Scuba

They’re purely cosmetic but fit perfectly with the festival theme.

New Volleyballs

Season 17 introduces several collectible volleyball skins:

  • Bronze Festival Ball
  • Silver Festival Ball
  • Golden Festival Ball
  • Diamond Festival Ball
  • Winged Ball

If you like customizing your matches, these are some of the standout cosmetics this season.

New Player Cards & Profile Art

Players can also unlock:

  • Strobe Lights Player Card
  • Festival Dynamic Player Card
  • Fireworks Profile Art

These let you customize your profile with the Season 17 aesthetic.

Style Bans Added to Pro+ Ranked

One of the biggest gameplay changes in Update 79 is the addition of Style Bans in higher-ranked matches.

From now on, Pro Rank and above will include a ban phase before each game begins.

Here’s how it works:

  • Each team gets one style ban.
  • A total of two styles can be banned every match.
  • Banned styles cannot be selected during that game.

This change should make ranked matches more strategic while reducing the dominance of the strongest meta styles.

Balance Changes

Several of the game’s strongest and weakest styles have been adjusted this season.

Encho Rework

Encho has received both buffs and nerfs depending on the upgrade path.

Changes include:

  • Default movement speed reduced to match Sanju.
  • Middle upgrade path now loses 1% speed per upgrade.
  • Left upgrade path now gains 1% speed per upgrade.
  • Maximum Middle Path upgrade now reduces hitbox size by 5%.
  • Maximum Right Path upgrade now grants buffed spikes equal to half of Taichou’s spike buff.

Overall, Encho now offers more meaningful upgrade choices instead of relying on one dominant path.

Kazana Nerf

Kazana has finally been toned down.

Changes include:

  • Maximum spike strength reduced to High Green (around a 10% reduction).
  • Spike gravity at maximum jump charge has also been reduced.

The style remains strong, but it won’t dominate offensive plays as easily as before.

Akari Rework

Akari has been redesigned to encourage a more balanced playstyle.

Changes include:

  • Dash canceling has returned.
  • Players can now perform only one action per jump.

This removes repeated back-block spam while allowing Akari players to focus more on attacking instead of endlessly defending.

Hakka Buff

Hakka receives a straightforward improvement.

Its clone jumps now support advanced controls, giving players much better control over clone positioning and movement.

This makes Hakka more flexible in both offense and defense.

Ronin Buff

Ronin gets stronger immediately without requiring as much progression.

Changes include:

  • Mastery 2 and Mastery 4 bonuses are now included in base Ronin.
  • Mastery 2 and 4 now instead improve spike charge speed.

New Ronin users will feel noticeably stronger right from the start.

Riku Nerf

Riku’s Wall Ricochet has been slightly weakened.

After bouncing off the wall, the ball now loses 25% of its speed, making ricochet plays easier to react to.

Festival Rooftop Map

The familiar Rooftop map has been redesigned with a festival theme.

The updated version features brighter decorations and seasonal visuals while keeping the gameplay layout largely familiar.

For Season 17:

  • It becomes the default map for regular matches.
  • It has also been added to the map voting rotation.

2x Luck Event

One of the best parts of Update 79 is the limited-time 2x Luck Event.

Event Duration

Starts:

  • July 18, 2026 – 11:30 AM ET

Ends:

  • July 20, 2026 – 11:30 AM ET

The event lasts only 48 hours, so you’ll want to use your spins before it ends.

Event Bonuses

During the event:

  • Secret Pity reduced from 200 → 100
  • Secret Style chance doubled from 0.5% → 1%
  • Secret Ability chance doubled from 0.5% → 1%

If you’ve been saving Lucky Spins, this is easily the best time to use them.

Lucky Spin Giveaway

To celebrate the update, the developers are also giving away free Lucky Spins.

Giveaway Schedule

July 18, 2026

From 10:30 AM ET until 12:30 AM ET

Players receive:

  • Lucky Spins every 10 minutes
  • Up to 12 Lucky Spins in total

Just logging in during the event is enough to collect them.

New Volleyball Legends Codes

Update 79 includes three new redeem codes.

Code Reward
UPDATE_79 5 Lucky Style Spins
SEASON_17 5 Lucky Style Spins
FESTIVAL_UPD 5 Lucky Ability Spins

Be sure to redeem them as soon as possible since update codes usually expire after a new patch arrives.

Update 79 feels like one of the stronger seasonal updates Volleyball Legends has received recently. Instead of focusing only on cosmetics, it also addresses long-standing balance concerns, introduces a much-needed style ban system for competitive play, and gives players one of the best spin events we’ve seen thanks to doubled Secret rates and reduced pity.

If you’ve been waiting for a good time to roll for Secret Styles or Secret Abilities, this weekend is easily your best opportunity. Between the free Lucky Spins, boosted rates, and new Season 17 rewards, there’s plenty of content to keep both casual and competitive players busy.
