One of the first major decisions you’ll make in VV: Ultimatum is choosing your race. Unlike many Roblox RPGs where races are mostly cosmetic or offer minor bonuses, your choice here dramatically changes how you progress, what abilities you unlock, and how difficult your journey will be.
After spending time with each progression path and seeing how players are performing in both PvE and PvP, it’s becoming clear that not all races are equally beginner-friendly right now. Some races offer smoother progression and stronger early-game tools, while others require more patience before they start feeling powerful.
The important thing to remember is that VV: Ultimatum is still very early in its lifespan. Future updates adding systems like Bankai, Visored progression, and additional endgame content could completely shift the rankings. This tier list reflects the current state of the game and focuses on overall progression, ease of use, PvE efficiency, and PvP performance.
VV Ultimatum Race Tier List
S Tier
- Quincy
A Tier
- Arrancar
B Tier
- Shinigami
That doesn’t mean Shinigami is bad or unplayable. It simply means you’ll need to work harder for similar results compared to the other two races.
Quincy Overview
Why Quincy Is Currently the Best Race
If someone asked me what race they should pick without giving any other information, I’d probably recommend Quincy.
Not because it’s the most interesting race.
Not because it has the coolest progression.
Simply because it does almost everything well.
Quincies currently have:
- Strong early-game progression
- Powerful starting weapons
- Excellent PvE performance
- Effective boss farming
- Easy-to-use abilities
- Strong overall builds
One thing that stands out immediately is how comfortable the early game feels. While other races often need to unlock important milestones before they start feeling complete, Quincies are effective almost immediately.
Best For
- New players
- Solo players
- Boss farming
- Fast progression
- Players who want the easiest experience
Downsides
The biggest downside is that Quincy progression isn’t as unique or engaging as some of the other races.
While powerful, it can feel more straightforward compared to the evolution-focused Arrancar path.
Arrancar Overview
The Most Complete Race Right Now
Arrancar sits very close to Quincy and could arguably be considered tied depending on what you value.
If Quincy wins because of simplicity, Arrancar wins because of depth.
The Hollow progression alone offers significantly more variety than most race progressions currently available.
You’ll evolve through:
- Fishbone Hollow
- Menos
- Adjuchas
- Vasto Lorde
- Arrancar
- Resurrección progression
Unlike other races, your early decisions continue affecting your character much later thanks to the Hollow Trait system.
Hollow Traits Add Long-Term Value
One thing that makes Arrancar progression stand out is the trait system.
During Hollow progression, you can collect traits that continue affecting your character after becoming an Arrancar.
This gives progression a stronger sense of permanence compared to other races.
Strong PvE and PvP
Arrancar currently performs extremely well in both game modes.
Advantages include:
- Strong weapons
- Powerful Resurrección abilities
- Excellent boss damage
- Flexible builds
- Great survivability
Many players also consider the Arrancar Kido tree one of the strongest and easiest to utilize effectively.
Hakuda Arrancar Is Extremely Popular
If you’ve been paying attention to high-level players, you’ve probably noticed a lot of Hakuda-focused Arrancars.
The combination of mobility, pressure, and Resurrección synergy makes the build very attractive.
Best For
- Players who enjoy progression systems
- PvE farming
- PvP
- Build experimentation
- Long-term progression
Downsides
The only real drawback is that progression takes longer.
Before becoming an Arrancar, you still need to progress through the Hollow stages.
That means you’ll spend time as:
- Hollow
- Menos
- Adjuchas
- Vasto Lorde
Some players love that journey.
Others simply want to get into the action immediately.
Shinigami Overview
The Hardest Race Right Now
Shinigami currently sits at the bottom of the rankings.
That sounds harsh, but it doesn’t mean the race is weak in every situation.
The issue is that Shinigami is missing some major future power systems that will likely change everything later.
Why Shinigami Feels Weaker
Currently, Shinigami lacks several progression milestones players are waiting for.
Notable missing content includes:
- Bankai
- Visored progression
Because of that, Shinigami often feels incomplete compared to Quincy and Arrancar.
Lower Survivability
Another challenge is durability.
Compared to the other races, Shinigami generally has lower health and fewer defensive advantages.
This means mistakes tend to be punished more heavily.
Kido Builds Require More Effort
The Shinigami Kido tree can be powerful, but it generally requires more setup and planning than competing options.
For experienced players, that’s manageable.
For beginners, it can feel frustrating.
Progression Can Feel Slow
One complaint that appears frequently among Shinigami players is that the progression path isn’t particularly exciting early on.
Things improve dramatically once Shikai enters the picture, but getting there can feel slower compared to other races.
Shikai Is Still Fun
To be fair, Shinigami isn’t without strengths.
The race offers:
- Multiple weapon options
- Interesting Shikai abilities
- Strong skill expression
- High skill ceiling
Players who enjoy mastering mechanics may still prefer Shinigami despite the current disadvantages.
Best For
- Experienced players
- Shikai fans
- Players planning for future updates
- People who enjoy difficult progression
Downsides
- Hardest progression path
- Lower survivability
- Missing future power systems
- Less beginner-friendly
Best Race for Beginners
If you’re completely new to VV: Ultimatum, here’s what I’d recommend.
Pick Quincy If:
- You want the easiest start.
- You don’t want to struggle.
- You want strong performance immediately.
- You mainly care about progression speed.
Pick Arrancar If:
- You enjoy unique progression.
- You want a race with lots of depth.
- You like evolving through multiple forms.
- You want one of the strongest races currently available.
Pick Shinigami If:
- You’re a Bleach fan first and foremost.
- You love Shikai abilities.
- You don’t mind slower progression.
- You’re willing to wait for future updates.
Which Race Is the Most Fun?
Power and fun aren’t always the same thing.
If we’re ranking pure enjoyment rather than strength, I’d personally put them like this:
Fun Tier List
- Arrancar
- Quincy
- Shinigami
Arrancar simply has more going on.
Every stage feels meaningful, from Hollow evolution to Vasto Lorde progression and eventually unlocking Resurrección.
Quincy is strong and smooth but lacks some of that journey.
Shinigami becomes enjoyable later, but the early-game experience isn’t as engaging right now.
