White Knuckle Amalgamator Recipes and Combinations Guide

The Amalgamator is one of the more interesting items added to White Knuckle, especially if you like experimenting with item combinations. It allows you to combine certain items together and turn them into completely new items, although the ingredients are destroyed in the process.

In this guide, I’ll go through the Amalgamator recipes currently listed by the community, including crafting combinations for weapons, climbing equipment, food, medical items, disks, roaches, and several other useful items.

Spoiler warning: This guide contains spoilers for the Amalgamator and some of its recipes. If you want to discover the combinations yourself, you may want to stop here.

White Knuckle Amalgamator Recipes and Combinations Guide

The Amalgamator is a special item first found in the new Habitation shortcut.

Its main purpose is to convert existing items into new ones by combining them.

When you use the Amalgamator, it opens up and interacts with nearby items that are positioned under your crosshair. The items remain attached to the crosshair while you’re holding the appropriate mouse button.

The exact button depends on which hand you’re using to hold the Amalgamator:

  • Left Mouse Button (LMB) when held in one hand
  • Right Mouse Button (RMB) when held in the other

Once you combine the required ingredients, the original items are consumed and the resulting item is created.

Amalgamator Recipes

Here are the known Amalgamator combinations from the guide.

Climbing and Construction Items

These recipes are useful for creating upgraded climbing equipment.

Ingredients Result
2 Pitons 1 Auto Piton
3 Pitons 1 Rebar
2 Rebars 1 Rope Rebar
3 Auto Pitons 1 Grapple Piton
2 Bricks 1 Rebar

If you’re carrying a lot of basic Pitons or Bricks, the Amalgamator gives you a way to convert them into more specialized equipment.

Flare and Explosive Recipes

You can also combine Flares with Rebars to create special items.

Ingredients Result
2 Flares + 2 Rebars Flare Gun
3 Flares + 1 Rebar Explosive Rebar
4 Flares Fuel Cell

The Fuel Cell recipe uses four Flares.

Disk Recipes

The Amalgamator can upgrade certain disks into rarer versions.

Ingredients Result
2 Black Disks 1 Red Disk
1 Red Disk + 1 Black Disk 1 Golden Disk

So, if you have extra Black Disks, you can combine them into a Red Disk and then use a Red Disk with another Black Disk to create a Golden Disk.

Food Recipes

The Amalgamator also has several food-related combinations.

Beans and Milk

These two items can be converted into one another:

Ingredients Result
1 Can of Beans 1 Milk
1 Milk 1 Can of Beans

Food Bar

You can combine two food items to create a Food Bar.

The recipe is:

2 of any food item → 1 Food Bar

There are some exceptions. The following items cannot be used for this recipe:

  • Wine
  • Food Bars
  • P-Beans

Injector

Once you have Food Bars, you can combine them further.

3 Food Bars → 1 Injector

Bottle of Pills

You can also create a Bottle of Pills using either Wine or Food Bars.

2 Wine OR 2 Food Bars → 1 Bottle of Pills

P-Beans Recipe

P-Beans have a more specific recipe.

1 Can of Beans + 2 Blink Eyes → 1 P-Beans

You’ll need both a regular Can of Beans and two Blink Eyes for this combination.

Creature Recipe

The Amalgamator can also be used for a rather unusual combination.

2 Grubs → The Creature (Sister)

This is one of the more mysterious recipes in the list, so be careful if you’re experimenting with Grubs and don’t want to create the Creature.

Roach Recipes

The Amalgamator has several combinations involving Roaches.

Platinum Roach

You can combine either Golden Roaches or Lemon Roaches.

3 Golden Roaches OR 3 Lemon Roaches → 1 Platinum Roach

Ruby Roach

Once you have Platinum Roaches, you can upgrade them again.

2 Platinum Roaches → 1 Ruby Roach

These recipes give you a progression from the more common Roach variants toward the rarer ones.

Rho Stone Recipe

Another special recipe uses Blink Eyes and Bricks.

1 Blink Eye + 2 Bricks → 1 Rho Stone

If you’re specifically looking for a Rho Stone, these are the materials you’ll need.

Headlamp Recipe

The Amalgamator can also create a Headlamp.

The recipe is:

1 Roach + 1 Flashlight OR Entity Scanner → 1 Headlamp

In other words, you need any type of Roach together with either a Flashlight or an Entity Scanner.

Headlamp Recipe Bug

The original guide notes that this recipe can be buggy, particularly in version 0.61b.

The Flashlight or Entity Scanner may not be properly deleted after crafting.

Instead, the items can become unusable for normal grabbing even though they may still technically work as crafting ingredients.

So if you use this recipe and notice something strange happening to your Flashlight or Entity Scanner, it appears to be a known issue with the combination rather than necessarily a mistake on your end.

Final Thoughts

The Amalgamator gives you a surprisingly large number of crafting possibilities, and it’s worth keeping some spare materials around once you find one. Pitons, Bricks, Flares, Food, Disks, Roaches, and Blink Eyes can all have additional uses beyond their normal functions.

Keep in mind that the recipe list can change as White Knuckle receives updates. The original community guide was also being expanded based on player discoveries, so additional combinations may be added later.

If you discover a combination that isn’t listed here, it’s worth testing it carefully and checking whether the recipe works in the current version of the game.
