The Record Breaker quest in Fisch requires you to collect three types of mutated items: Titanium Rusty Bolts, Melody Iron Chunks, and Electrified Scrap Metal. Each item has a specific rod and mutation requirement, but the good news is that you can catch all three in the Mineshaft.
In this guide, I’ll explain which rods you need, how to obtain each mutation, and how to complete the quest without wasting time traveling between locations.
You’ll need five of each mutated item, for a total of 15 items. Make sure the items have the correct mutations before turning them in, because ordinary Rusty Bolts, Iron Chunks, and Scrap Metal won’t count.
How to Get Titanium, Melody, and Electrified Mutations in Fisch
To begin the Getting Started quest for Record Breaker, collect the following:
| Item | Required amount |
|---|---|
| Titanium Rusty Bolt | 5 |
| Melody Iron Chunk | 5 |
| Electrified Scrap Metal | 5 |
All three items can be caught in the Mineshaft. You don’t need to visit different fishing locations for each material.
How to Get Titanium Rusty Bolts
To catch Titanium Rusty Bolts, you need the Titanium Rod.
- Equip the Titanium Rod.
- Head to the Mineshaft and start fishing.
- Catch Rusty Bolts until you obtain five with the Titanium mutation.
The Titanium mutation has a 25% chance to apply. Keep fishing until you have five Rusty Bolts with the required mutation.
Only Rusty Bolts that actually have the Titanium mutation count toward the quest. Regular Rusty Bolts won’t be accepted.
How to Get Melody Iron Chunks
For Melody Iron Chunks, you need the Stellar Wave Melody Rod.
- Equip the Stellar Wave Melody Rod.
- Fish in the Mineshaft.
- Continue catching Iron Chunks until you have five with the Melody mutation.
The rod has an 18.8% chance to apply Melody. If you have the Cosmic Crescendo mastery enhancement, the chance increases to 22.4%, making it easier to collect the required items.
Check each Iron Chunk after catching it to make sure it has the Melody mutation.
How to Get Electrified Scrap Metal
To obtain Electrified Scrap Metal, use Zeus’s Thunder Mall while its electrified state is active.
- Equip Zeus’s Thunder Mall.
- Make sure the rod’s electrified state is active.
- Fish in the Mineshaft.
- Catch five Scrap Metal items with the Electrified mutation.
The Electrified mutation has a 90% chance to apply while the electrified state is active, so this is generally the fastest of the three materials to collect.
Can You Appraise These Mutations?
No. You cannot obtain the required Titanium, Melody, or Electrified mutations through appraisal. You must catch the items directly with the correct rod and mutation effect.
If you appraise ordinary materials, they won’t count toward the Record Breaker quest.
Fastest Way to Complete the Quest
The most efficient method is to stay in the Mineshaft and collect each material in batches:
- Use the Titanium Rod until you have five Titanium Rusty Bolts.
- Switch to the Stellar Wave Melody Rod and collect five Melody Iron Chunks.
- Equip Zeus’s Thunder Mall with its electrified state active and catch five Electrified Scrap Metal.
- Check your inventory to confirm that you have five of each correctly mutated item.
- Return to Tryce and turn in the materials.
You can switch rods between batches without leaving the Mineshaft, which saves time.
Turn In the Materials to Tryce
Once you have all 15 required items, return to Tryce and submit them to complete the Getting Started quest. This advances the Tryce questline toward unlocking the Record Breaker Rod.
Remember to check the mutation on every item before turning it in. The quest requires the specific mutated versions, not just the base materials.
