Potato Please Achievements Guide – Endings & Walkthrough

Welcome to Warehouse No. 5, comrade! If you’re planning to get 100% completion in Potato Please, you’ll need to do more than peel potatoes. Some achievements unlock naturally as you work through your shifts, while others require specific actions, automation upgrades, and decisions throughout the story.

In this guide, we’ll cover all the achievements included in the source list, explain how to unlock them, and highlight the choices you need to make for the endings. Most achievements can be completed in a single playthrough, but Your Own Executioner is missable, so pay close attention to Pavel’s letters and the decisions you make.

Potato Please Achievements Guide – Endings & Walkthrough

Detail Information
Estimated completion time 4–5 hours
Required playthroughs One playthrough, plus reloading a save for the endings
Missable achievement Your Own Executioner
Ending achievements Three individual endings and one for seeing all three

Important: Read the section about Your Own Executioner before responding to Pavel’s first letters. His loyalty is determined by your decisions throughout the game, and you cannot fix the outcome at the final train sequence.

Another important tip is to make a manual save when you reach the train cabin and see the three levers. You can reload that save to experience all three endings without replaying the entire game.

If you’re searching for a particular achievement, use Ctrl + F and enter its name.

All Potato Achievements

These achievements are mostly related to peeling potatoes. You don’t need to do anything complicated for most of them, but remember that some specifically require manual peeling rather than using machines.

1. First Cut

Requirement: Peel your first potato.

This is the first achievement you’ll naturally unlock. Simply peel your first potato at the beginning of the game.

2. A Thousand Peels

Requirement: Peel 1,000 potatoes by hand or machine.

Both manual peeling and automated machines count toward this achievement. Keep working through your shifts and it should unlock naturally.

3. Ten Thousand

Requirement: Peel 10,000 potatoes.

You can use either your hands or machines. Both contribute to the total, so continuing with your normal work and automation should eventually unlock it during a playthrough.

4. Old School

Requirement: Peel 500 potatoes manually.

Unlike the previous achievements, machines do not count here. You must peel at least 500 potatoes yourself.

You can use the Muscle Memory skill to make manual peeling easier.

5. These Hands Were Made for Peeling

Requirement: Peel 1,000 potatoes manually.

This works the same way as Old School, but the target is doubled. Keep peeling potatoes yourself rather than relying on automation.

The Muscle Memory skill can also help with this achievement.

Shift and Automation Achievements

As you progress through the warehouse, you’ll unlock new machines and upgrades. Several achievements are tied directly to completing shifts, improving your rank, and automating the entire production line.

6. Warmed Up

Requirement: Finish the warm-up shift.

Complete the introductory warm-up shift at the beginning of the game. This achievement is part of normal story progression and should unlock without any additional effort.

7. Industrial Revolution

Requirement: Let a peeling machine peel potatoes.

Visit the shop and purchase your first peeling machine. Put some potatoes into it and wait for the machine to peel its first potato.

The achievement unlocks as soon as the machine completes its first peel.

8. Fully Automated

Requirement: Let machines handle the entire production line.

For this achievement, you need to automate the whole workflow rather than just the peeling process.

This includes purchasing the upgrades for the Claw Crane and cableway. Continue progressing through the story and buying the available automation equipment until the entire line can operate without your direct involvement.

9. Employee of the Month

Requirement: Reach Rank 21.

Your rank increases as you work through shifts. Keep completing your daily tasks and avoid skipping upgrades.

You should reach the maximum rank of 21 during a normal playthrough if you continue progressing.

10. The Quota

Requirement: Peel every last potato.

Meet your quota and completely clear the potato pile. This happens near the end of the story, just before the ending sequence.

Make sure you finish the remaining potatoes rather than leaving any behind.

Odds and Ends Achievements

These achievements involve activities outside your regular peeling duties. Some are simple acts of kindness, while others require exploring the warehouse area or using the equipment in unusual ways.

11. A Heart of Gold

Requirement: Send potatoes to the people of Varenka.

During the game, you’ll receive letters from people in Varenka asking you to share some potatoes.

Send them potatoes at least once to unlock the achievement.

12. Good Boy

Requirement: Feed the dog near the warehouse.

Look for the dog outside the warehouse and feed it. This small act of kindness is enough to unlock the achievement.

13. One Last Puff

Requirement: Finish an entire cigarette during a smoking break.

Your character will occasionally want to smoke during a shift. When this happens, take a smoking break and finish the whole cigarette.

14. No Escape

Requirement: Leave the warehouse perimeter during a shift.

During your shift, walk away from the warehouse in any direction.

You’ll hear warnings over the loudspeaker telling you to return to your post. Ignore them and keep walking until you cross the outer boundary of the area.

A cutscene will begin and the achievement will unlock.

15. Unauthorized Passenger

Requirement: Ride the cableway for at least three meters while holding a sack.

This achievement requires the Sack Cableway upgrade.

  1. Purchase the Sack Cableway upgrade from the shop.
  2. Fill a sack with potatoes.
  3. Place the sack on the loading spot at the cableway station.
  4. Wait for the hook to come down and grab the sack.
  5. Quickly stand underneath the sack while it is still hanging low.
  6. Look toward the bottom of the sack and hold E to grab it.
  7. Continue riding until you’ve travelled at least three meters.

Once you reach the required distance, the achievement should unlock.

All Ending Achievements

<escape>Warning: The following section contains spoilers for the ending of Potato Please.</escape>

At the end of your shift, you’ll find a key and make your way to the train. Inside the train cabin, you’ll see three levers representing three different destinations.

Before pulling any lever, create a manual save. This is important because you can reload it to unlock all three ending achievements without completing the entire game again.

16. For the Motherland

Requirement: Send the train to the Northern Front.

At the train cabin, pull the Northern Front lever.

This will trigger the For the Motherland ending.

17. Traitor

Requirement: Send the train to Western Industry.

Pull the Western Industry lever in the train cabin to unlock the Traitor ending.

18. The Last Harvest

Requirement: Send the train to Varenka.

Choose the Varenka lever to trigger The Last Harvest ending.

19. Every Path Has a Price

Requirement: See all three endings.

You don’t need three separate playthroughs for this achievement.

After making your manual save at the train:

  1. Pull the Northern Front lever and complete the ending.
  2. Reload your manual save.
  3. Pull the Western Industry lever and complete that ending.
  4. Reload your save again.
  5. Pull the Varenka lever and complete the final ending.

After seeing all three endings, you’ll unlock Every Path Has a Price.

Missable Achievement: Your Own Executioner

<badge color=”danger”>Missable achievement</badge>

Requirement: Send the train to Varenka while Pavel remains loyal to the state.

This is the most important achievement to plan for because Pavel’s loyalty depends on your responses to his letters throughout the game. You cannot simply make the correct decision at the end and expect the achievement to unlock.

Each reply contributes toward one of two sides:

  • Ministry: -1
  • Resistance: +1

If Pavel’s total goes above zero, he joins the Resistance, and you will miss this achievement for the current playthrough.

How to Keep Pavel Loyal to the State

Follow these choices to keep his loyalty on the Ministry’s side.

Situation Choice
Pavel asks for money Choose Send
Director’s Questions letter Choose Tell what you know
Other letters You can answer however you like, provided the other choices don’t push his total above zero

Handle Resistance Notes Carefully

Your decisions about Resistance notes also affect the outcome.

  • Hide the Resistance notes you discover in potatoes.
  • You can report one note to the Ministry at most.
  • Reporting two or more notes causes Pavel to be taken hostage, making the achievement unavailable.
  • Do not report the people of Varenka.
  • Do not put Resistance poison on the carrots for the memorial dinner. Pour it out or put it on the cucumbers instead.

Be especially careful with the memorial dinner decision, as putting the poison on the carrots counts as another reported note.

Check Pavel’s Loyalty Before the Ending

Before reaching the train, look for these two clues:

  1. Pavel’s final letter: It should mention that he’s going to a school near the capital.
  2. The final Resistance note: It should not contain a line saying something like “Your son is with us”.

These are useful checks that indicate Pavel has remained loyal to the state.

Once you’ve confirmed the situation, reach the train cabin and pull the Varenka lever to unlock Your Own Executioner.

If your choices have already pushed Pavel toward the Resistance, you cannot repair the outcome during that playthrough. You’ll need to start a new shift and make different decisions.
