To start progressing, make a party with the button on the left of the screen and then find a mission board to queue for missions.
Make sure to learn flashstep in the speed skill tree for 0 skillpoints as well as soul style in the kido tree.
Shinigami
From Grade 5 – Grade 2 : For these ranks the only type of EXP you need is mission exp.
At Grade 2 you will be able to get your Shikai (YOU CANT GO HIGHER IF U DONT GET UR SHIKAI FIRST)
From Semi Grade 1 – Elite Grade : Mission EXP, Need 1 Grip at Semi Grade 1
Shikai
When reaching Grade 2, you will now have access to obtain your Shikai.
In order to start the Shikai quest, you have to first meditate 3 times for about 5 minutes each time. It will AUTOMATICALLY stand your character up when you finish 1 session.
After finishing all 3 meditations, your 4th meditation should put you into the Shikai fight.
If it DOES NOT bring you into your inner-world, die to a player or an NPC, then meditate again. When your spirit is whispering to you again, stand up and re – meditate. This should put you in your inner world
In order to use your Shikai after you have won, press J with your sword out.
IF YOU LOSE YOUR SHIKAI FIGHT you can meditate to enter your Shikai world to attempt the fight again.
Bankai

Stage 1:
Win 27 Raids or 24 Ranked Wins
Stage 2:
Fulfill all of these requirements without dying. If you die, you must restart stage 2:
80 Hollow NPC kills (mission hollows count)
15 Elite Grade grips (opposite factions only)
1 Boss kill (World Bosses Only)
You can check progress via talking to your spirit inside of your innerworld (may take a couple attempts to get the info out of it)
Stage 3:
The final trial. After finding the swords, meditate and talk to your Shikai. There will be a short dialogue before the boss battle, in which you must fight and defeat your Bankai to obtain it for yourself. After defeating the boss, he will stand still and pose with your current weapon. Click on him to trigger a cutscene, and obtain your Bankai. If you fail you defeat your Bankai, you can challenge it again by entering your Shikai world through meditation.
