Lumi Master is a creature-collecting game that combines exploration, resource management, and a home-building system. If you’ve played games like Pokémon or Coin Master, you might notice some familiar ideas, although Lumi Master has its own gameplay mechanics.

You can explore different environments, catch wild Lumies, and build your collection. The game includes rainforests, deserts, and volcanoes, with different creatures waiting to be discovered as you progress.

One thing I like about the concept is that the game is designed around short gameplay sessions. You can explore, trigger encounters, collect resources, and return to your home without needing to spend a huge amount of time in one session.

There are also different activities, including weekly minigames, pinball, Lumi feeding, co-op raids, and seasonal updates. The game introduces new maps and Lumies as you continue playing.

Choosing Your Starter Lumi

When you first start Lumi Master, you’ll get a choice between three different starter Lumies.

The starters are based on three elemental types:

  • Fire
  • Grass
  • Water

This is similar to the starter selection in Pokémon, where you choose between different elemental creatures at the beginning of the game.

From what I noticed in the video, the choice doesn’t necessarily make a huge difference for your early progression. You can simply pick the starter you like the most.

I would suggest choosing your favorite rather than spending too much time worrying about which one is the best. As you continue playing, you’ll have opportunities to collect more Lumies and build a team with different elemental types.

Exploring Different Areas

After choosing your starter, you’ll spend a lot of time exploring different areas of Lumi Master. Exploration is one of the main ways to discover Lumies, collect rewards, and unlock new locations.

You can explore environments such as the volcano and desert worlds, with each area featuring its own selection of creatures.

However, there’s one important resource you need to pay attention to while exploring: energy.

Energy System

Energy is extremely important in Lumi Master. Without enough energy, you won’t be able to explore properly, trigger encounters, or catch Lumies.

Every time you explore, you need to think about how you’re spending your energy. You don’t want to use it without understanding what kind of rewards or encounters you can receive.

One of the main things you should know is that you can change the amount of energy used through the compass system.

Energy Multipliers and Rewards

The amount of energy you spend can change the possible rewards and outcomes of an encounter.

Here is how the different energy options work in the video:

  • 1 Energy: Can give you a blue Lumi, which is a rare rarity.
  • 5 Energy: Gives you a chance to encounter a gold Lumi.
  • 10 Energy: Gives you a chance to encounter rainbow Lumies.
  • 20 Energy: Allows you to catch two Lumies at once.
  • 50 Energy: Allows you to catch five Lumies at once.

As you can see, using more energy can give you access to higher-rarity Lumies or multiple creatures in one encounter.

For example, when you use 20 energy, you can catch two Lumies at once. At 50 energy, the number increases to five Lumies.

You should always think about how much energy you have before making a decision. Sometimes, you might want to use a smaller amount to conserve energy, while other situations may make a larger pull worthwhile.

How I Use Energy

In the video, I used a 50-energy pull to see what rewards I could get. During exploration, you can also receive coins and other resources before catching the specific Lumies featured in an area.

The important thing here is to avoid spending all your energy without a plan. As you get more familiar with the game, you’ll have a better idea of when you want to save energy and when you want to take a chance on a bigger encounter.

Catching Lumies and Unlocking New Areas

Each exploration area has a group of Lumies that you need to discover and catch. Along with the regular creatures, there is also a special Lumi that you need to find.

For example, in the volcano area shown in the video, I had already caught four blue Lumies. The remaining creature I needed was the special Lumi located in the middle of the collection.

Once you encounter that special Lumi and successfully catch it, you can unlock the next area.

After completing the volcano area, you’ll move on to the desert world, where you’ll find another set of Lumies and a new special creature to chase.

The main thing to understand is that you’re not just exploring randomly. Each area has specific creatures to collect, and completing the collection helps you progress into new locations.

Lumi Master Home Area Explained

The home area is where you manage your base, place Lumies at different workstations, and produce resources.

When I first looked at this system, it reminded me a lot of Cookie Run: Kingdom. You have a home base where your creatures live, and you can build different structures to help develop your sanctuary.

Your Lumies aren’t only useful for exploring and battling. You can also assign them to work at different stations, where they produce resources for you.

Building and Upgrading Your Home

The home area has several different buildings and areas to unlock. You can also decorate your sanctuary with different items to make it look the way you want.

Your Lumi statue acts similarly to a city hall or town hall. As you level up and upgrade the statue, you’ll be able to clear more land and unlock additional areas of your home.

There is a lot to manage here, including buildings, resource production, decorations, and new areas. If you’re just starting, it can feel like there are too many things to focus on at the same time.

You don’t need to upgrade everything immediately. Start with the obvious progression tasks and gradually expand your home as you unlock more features.

Follow the Main Quests

If you ever feel overwhelmed by everything happening in your home area, I recommend following the main quests shown in the bottom-left corner.

For example, the game might ask you to catch five different volcano Lumies. You can simply follow that objective to understand what you need to do next.

These quests help guide you through the game and introduce you to the different systems. Instead of trying to figure out every building and feature on your own, you can use the quests as a general progression path.

My advice is to follow the objectives whenever you’re unsure what to work on next.

Assigning Lumies to Workstations

One of the important parts of the home system is assigning Lumies to different workstations.

When you place a Lumi at a station, you should check how effective it is at that particular job. Not every Lumi will perform equally well at every workstation.

Check the Work Speed Percentage

Before assigning a Lumi, pay attention to its work speed percentage.

Some Lumies are particularly good at working in certain stations, so you want to check their stats before placing them.

For example, in the video, one Lumi had a speed percentage of 111. You can use this information to decide which creature is suitable for a particular workstation.

I would recommend checking the speed percentage whenever you’re assigning a new Lumi. This helps you get more out of your resource production rather than placing creatures randomly.

Feeding Your Lumies

Another thing you need to pay attention to in the home area is feeding your Lumies.

Your working Lumies have a hunger level, which you can see at the bottom of their information. You need to keep an eye on this number because it can decrease over time.

In the video, the hunger level was around 180. The important thing is to avoid letting it fall all the way to zero.

Why Feeding Is Important

When a Lumi’s hunger reaches zero, it may stop working. This means your resource production can be affected if you don’t keep your creatures fed.

To feed a Lumi, you can select it and choose the Feed option. You can also use the max feed option to provide food.

I recommend checking your Lumies regularly and making sure they have enough food to continue working. Keeping their hunger levels up helps them stay productive in your home.

Using the Serve All Feature

You also have a feature that allows you to serve food for your Lumies. They can walk over to the feeding platform when they want food.

At the beginning, you’ll only have one slot unlocked. As you progress further, you can unlock additional slots, allowing you to take more Lumies into battle.

This means the home area is connected to your battle progression as well, so you should pay attention to both resource production and your team setup.

Building a Strong Lumi Battle Team

When you first start playing, you’ll initially have one battle slot available. As you continue progressing, you can unlock more slots.

Eventually, you’ll be able to take three Lumies into battle.

Once you have multiple slots available, I recommend building a team with different elemental types instead of using the same type for every position.

Why Element Types Matter

The elemental system is an important part of battles in Lumi Master.

Similar to Pokémon, different elements have advantages and disadvantages against one another. This means your team composition can affect how much damage you deal or take during an encounter.

For example, if you’re fighting against ice-type enemies, you should check which elements are effective against them.

In the video, fire and lightning were shown as possible type advantages against the ice opponents.

Before entering a battle, check the enemy’s element and look at the type counters. This gives you an idea of which Lumies you should bring.

Use Different Elemental Types

I wouldn’t recommend building a team with only fire, only water, or another single element unless you already know exactly what you’re fighting.

Instead, try to level up a diverse group of Lumies so you have different options when you encounter enemies with different weaknesses.

For example, if you’re going against ice-type enemies, you can use Lumies with advantageous elements such as fire or lightning, depending on the game’s type chart.

You don’t need to level up every creature equally from the beginning. Focus on developing a useful selection of Lumies so you can adjust your team when necessary.

How to Progress Faster in Lumi Master

If you’re looking to make faster progress, you should focus on a few key systems instead of trying to do everything at once.

1. Follow the Main Quests

The main quests in the bottom-left corner are one of the easiest ways to understand your next objective.

If you’re unsure what to do, follow the quest instructions. They can guide you through catching Lumies, exploring areas, and progressing through the home system.

2. Manage Your Energy Carefully

Energy is required for exploration and encounters, so you should avoid using it without thinking about your goals.

Pay attention to the different energy options and consider whether you want to save energy or spend more for a chance at better rewards.

The higher energy options can give you access to different rarities or multiple Lumies at once, but you should still consider your available energy.

3. Upgrade Your Home Area

Your Lumi statue helps unlock more areas and buildings in your home. Keep progressing through your home upgrades to clear land and access more features.

You can also assign Lumies to workstations to produce resources, which helps you manage your base.

4. Feed Your Working Lumies

Don’t forget to check the hunger levels of your working Lumies.

If their hunger reaches zero, they may stop working, so make sure you keep them fed. Use the feed option or the serving platform to maintain their food levels.

5. Build a Diverse Team

As you unlock more battle slots, try to use a mix of elemental types.

Check the enemy’s weaknesses before battles and select Lumies that can take advantage of the type matchups.

This can help you adapt to different encounters instead of relying on one type of Lumi for everything.

Energy Tips and Exploration Strategy

One of the things I found interesting in Lumi Master is how exploration can sometimes give you different outcomes based on your energy choices.

For example, in the video, I had around 674 energy available. During an encounter, I decided to take a chance with my energy rather than choosing the guaranteed option.

The result was a 2x reward, which gave me 400 additional energy. That brought my total up to around 874 energy.

Of course, you won’t always get the same result, so you should consider your current energy supply before making similar decisions.

If you’re running low on energy, it might make sense to be more careful. When you have a larger amount saved up, you may feel more comfortable taking chances during certain encounters.

The main lesson is to understand how the energy system works and use it according to your own progression needs.

Lumi Master has several different systems to explore, from catching Lumies and managing energy to building your home and assigning creatures to workstations.

If you’re a beginner, I recommend starting with the main quests, learning how the energy system works, and keeping your working Lumies fed. These are some of the most important things to understand during the early stages of the game.

As you progress, focus on collecting different elemental types, improving your home, and learning which Lumies work best at specific stations.

You don’t need to rush through every feature immediately. Take your time, explore the different areas, and build your collection as you continue playing.
