1. Siren — Wind

Siren is unlocked through the main story. Continue progressing through the story to obtain this Esper.
2. Ifrit — Fire
- Location: Zoldaad
- Element: Fire
- Requirement: Reach Chapter 4
Follow these steps to unlock Ifrit:
- Reach Chapter 4.
- Hear the rumors about strange noises coming from the volcano.
- Fly over the volcano’s crater and enter it.
- Speak to Ifrit.
- Defeat Ifrit to unlock the summon.
3. Shiva — Ice

To unlock Shiva, you need to investigate rumors about a woman living on a frozen island.

4. Ramuh — Lightning

5. Carbuncle — No Element

Carbuncle requires you to complete a puzzle rather than simply defeat an Esper in battle.
- Reach Chapter 3.
- Speak to Dalim about Ruby Cave.
- Visit Ruby Cave and start Damundo’s puzzle.
- Collect the three fragments scattered around the open world.
- Return to Ruby Cave.
- Open the container to obtain Carbuncle.
Make sure you collect all three fragments before returning to the cave.
6. Odin — No Element
- Location: Gronoa
- Element: None
- Requirement: Reach Chapter 6 and complete the associated steps
Odin is connected to the Iron Splitter sub quest.
- Reach Chapter 6.
- Examine the stele in Gronoa to trigger the Iron Splitter sub quest.
- Inspect another stele west of Gronoa.
- Defeat Odin’s shadow.
- Speak to the old man at Nameless Ruins.
Follow the stele clues and complete the encounter to obtain Odin.
7. Titan — Earth
- Location: Grandshelt
- Element: Earth
- Requirement: Obtain the Gaia Hammer from Colosseum’s Fledgling Battle 5
Titan requires a special item before you can challenge the summon.
- Complete Fledgling Battle 5 in the Colosseum to obtain the Gaia Hammer.
- Travel to the sealing stone in Lanzelt.
- Use the Gaia Hammer.
- Defeat Titan to unlock the summon.

8. Bahamut — No Element
