Alchemy Factory 1.0 Maximum Profit Guide – Automation

Alchemy Factory can look like a simple production and shop-management game at first, but once you start digging deeper intoautomation, wholesaling, fertilizer upgrades, and cauldrons, there are some incredibly powerful ways to speed up your progress and make serious money.

In this post, we’ll show you how to progress from the early game all the way into the endgame while focusing on one major goal: getting the most value possible from your production. We’ll go through when to unlock automation, why Bandage Wholesales are so important, how cauldrons can completely change your economy, and how fertilizer efficiency can make expensive materials surprisingly cheap.

The strategy here is all about keeping things simple early on and scaling up when the right tools become available. Instead of trying to build everything at once, we’ll focus on the systems that give us the biggest returns. By the end, you’ll even be able to use cauldron recipes to turn cheap materials into gold.

Alchemy Factory 1.0 Maximum Profit Guide – Automation

The main goal during the early game is simple: reach full automation as quickly as possible.

At the beginning, you’ll spend a lot of time manually stocking shelves, grabbing materials, refilling machines, and dealing with customers. It can quickly become repetitive, so I recommend avoiding unnecessary construction and focusing only on the important unlocks.

Your main early-game objectives should be:

  • Unlock the Cash Register
  • Unlock the Nursery
  • Unlock the Purchase Portal
  • Unlock the Dispatch Portal
  • Unlock Bandage Wholesale

You don’t need to create a huge and complicated factory immediately. In my experience, overbuilding early can actually slow down your progress because you’re spending resources and time on things that aren’t helping you reach automation.

Why Bandage Wholesale Is So Important

The game really starts opening up once you unlock Bandage Wholesale.

Wholesaling bandages can bring in much better profits than relying entirely on your storefront. It also gives you a much easier source of passive income because you don’t have to constantly worry about customer happiness, shop management, or completing quests.

For the midgame, I would personally focus almost entirely on wholesale production.

You can always return to the storefront later. Eventually, shops and quests can become additional sources of income, but trying to manage everything too early can slow down your technology progression.

Use blueprints to repeatedly produce simple bandages until you completely saturate your Bandage Wholesale capacity. Once that income is running properly, you’ll have a much stronger foundation for the next stage of the game.

Focus Your Upgrades on Fertilizer

During the early game, the most important upgrades are Fertilizer upgrades.

This might not seem exciting at first, but fertilizer efficiency becomes incredibly important later. Wholesale profits and, more importantly, cauldron production can benefit heavily from reducing the cost of plant-based materials.

Think of your fertilizer upgrades as an investment in your future economy.

The cheaper you can produce plants and their byproducts, the more powerful your production chains become later. So instead of spreading your upgrades everywhere, I recommend putting your focus into fertilizer efficiency.

Midgame Progression: Get to Cauldrons Quickly

Once you’re comfortably progressing, the next major objective is to unlock cauldrons as soon as possible.

Your first Bronze production setup might be inefficient, and that’s completely fine. You don’t need a perfect factory at this stage. The important thing is getting access to the cauldron because this is where your production strategy can completely change.

Cauldrons are one of the most powerful tools in Alchemy Factory.

How Cauldrons Work

Every item in the game has a hidden cauldron value. The cauldron allows you to combine three different items and exchange their combined value for another item with approximately the same value.

Not every item can be created this way, but many of them can.

The biggest advantage is that cauldron production is often much simpler than following the normal production chain. Instead of building a large factory with multiple complicated steps, you can sometimes create valuable materials with a much smaller and more compact setup.

You can produce more items in less space and with less effort.

However, there is an important catch.

Cauldrons Are Not Always Equally Efficient

The value of items used in cauldrons doesn’t always perfectly match their normal production cost.

Some items are cheaper to create through a cauldron, while others can be significantly more expensive.

Depending on the recipe, cauldron production can range from being much more efficient than traditional production to costing considerably more.

This is exactly why fertilizer efficiency is so powerful.

If your fertilizer upgrades allow you to create plant materials extremely cheaply, you can use those cheap materials as ingredients in cauldron recipes.

The cauldron doesn’t care where your item value originally came from. As long as you’re using different items and following the recipe requirements, you can take advantage of cheap ingredients.

That means materials that would normally cost a lot to produce can sometimes be created for a fraction of their traditional production cost.

For example, with the right setup, you can produce valuable materials such as Lapis Lazuli using cheap plant-based ingredients and a relatively small number of cauldrons.

This is where your economy can really start accelerating.

Your Main Midgame Goals

Once you reach the midgame, I recommend following this order:

  • Progress through the technology tree quickly until you unlock cauldrons.
  • Create blueprint-based cauldron production setups.
  • Build cascading production chains that increase the value of your materials.
  • Use your cauldron outputs to support wholesale production and technology upgrades.
  • Continue investing heavily into fertilizer efficiency.

The goal is to create a system where cheap materials constantly feed into cauldrons, which then produce increasingly valuable resources.

Keep Investing in Fertilizer Efficiency

Fertilizer efficiency should continue being your main upgrade priority.

I would recommend reaching at least 200% Fertilizer Efficiency before seriously investing in other areas. If possible, pushing towards 300% can make your production even stronger.

If you want some quality-of-life improvements, Conveyor Speed and Wholesale Negotiation can also be useful.

However, I wouldn’t prioritize them too early.

Your main advantage comes from making cheap plant materials and converting their value into more expensive items through cauldrons.

Don’t Spend Too Much Time on the Shop Yet

The storefront can be fun, but during the midgame, it can become a distraction.

Building every item customers want, constantly managing your shop, and fulfilling quests can take a lot of time for relatively limited returns.

For now, I would keep the focus on:

  • Technology progression
  • Cauldron production
  • Wholesale income
  • Fertilizer efficiency

Once you’ve unlocked the technology tree and built a strong economy, you can always return and expand your storefront later.

There’s no need to do everything at once.

Plan Your Factory for the Future

Even while you’re focusing on cauldrons and automation, it’s worth thinking ahead when designing your factory.

Your midgame factory will eventually become much larger, so a little planning now can save you a lot of rebuilding later.

Leave Space for Your Future Shop

Even if you’re ignoring the storefront for now, leave some room at the front of your factory.

Eventually, you may want to build a proper shop and use it as another source of income.

If you completely fill every available space with production machines, adding the storefront later can become annoying.

Plan around it, even if you don’t build it immediately.

Use Catapults and Cannons for Long-Distance Transport

For medium and long-distance transportation, consider using Catapults and Cannons whenever possible.

Massive conveyor systems can become demanding later in the game. A huge number of conveyors can put a lot of pressure on your CPU, especially when your factory starts becoming enormous.

Catapults and cannons can be a simpler option for moving materials across larger distances.

Of course, your experience may vary depending on your PC, but if you’re planning a large late-game factory, it’s worth keeping performance in mind.

Build Vertically

One of the best ways to organize a growing factory is to build upward.

Instead of constantly expanding outward and spending your time running from one side of the base to the other, you can create multiple floors connected by a central transport system.

I would recommend creating a central staircase or Shroom Elevator and using it as the main way to move between floors.

You can also create a central hub using lift conveyors to transport commonly used materials, such as:

  • Planks
  • Gears
  • Other important building resources

This makes it much easier to access materials as your factory grows vertically.

Instead of rebuilding your entire logistics system every time you add another floor, you can simply extend your existing central hub upward.

Avoid Creating Closed Blueprint Cubes

It’s tempting to turn every blueprint into a large, solid box.

At first, these compact blocks might look convenient, but they can cause problems later.

When something stops working, debugging a completely enclosed production system becomes much harder. You might return to your factory later and have absolutely no idea what is happening inside one of those mystery boxes.

I recommend keeping your blueprints as open and visible as possible.

Open production systems are easier to understand, easier to repair, and easier to expand.

They also make it much easier for your future self to figure out what you built.

When Does the Midgame End?

For this strategy, the midgame ends when you’ve fully unlocked the technology tree.

If you’ve focused heavily on cauldrons, fertilizer efficiency, and wholesale production, you should be able to reach this point much faster than if you spent most of your time managing the storefront.

Once the technology tree is complete, it’s time to move into the real endgame.

Endgame: The Endless Search for More Money

So, you’ve unlocked everything.

Now what?

The answer is simple: make more money.

By this point, if you’ve followed the strategy above, you should have strong fertilizer efficiency, plenty of cauldron production, and a well-developed wholesale system.

You can now start expanding your economy even further.

Expand Into More Revenue Sources

This is a good time to start putting more points into Negotiation upgrades and expanding your income sources.

Wholesale selling can become extremely profitable, but you can also begin using:

  • Shops
  • Customer sales
  • Quests

At this stage, you have the resources and technology to support multiple revenue streams.

However, if your only goal is maximizing profit as efficiently as possible, there is another option.

You can simply make the money yourself.

The Real Endgame Trick: Making Gold With Cauldrons

This is where things get interesting.

Instead of worrying about customer traffic, shop reputation, wholesale limits, or collecting quest items, you can use cauldrons to create the materials needed for Gold Dust.

With strong fertilizer efficiency, cheap plant materials can eventually become part of a production chain that leads directly to gold.

That’s why fertilizer upgrades are so powerful.

You’re not just making plants cheaper. You’re making the entire value chain leading to expensive materials cheaper.

Gold Production Chain

The basic final production chain is:

Pure Gold Dust → Gold Ingot → Gold Coin

Pure Gold Dust is processed through Crucibles to create a Gold Ingot, which can then be processed into a Gold Coin.

To create the Pure Gold Dust, use the following cauldron recipes.

Pure Gold Dust Recipe

Adamant + Resonant Catalyst + Gold Dust = Pure Gold Dust

To produce the ingredients needed for that recipe, you’ll need the following chains.

Why This Gold Setup Is So Powerful

When you look at the entire chain, something becomes very clear.

You’re ultimately producing gold using relatively cheap materials such as:

  • Flax
  • Gentian
  • Lavender
  • Chamomile

With high fertilizer efficiency, these materials become incredibly cheap to produce.

You can then feed them into your cauldron network and slowly convert their value into increasingly expensive materials until you’re eventually producing Pure Gold Dust.

With one cauldron dedicated to each recipe, the overall production setup can remain surprisingly compact and modular.

The main bottleneck is the Pure Gold Dust cauldron, which can produce around 2.2 gold per minute.

There may be even more efficient ways to create gold through cauldrons, but this production chain is already a powerful example of what becomes possible when you combine cheap plant materials with the cauldron system.

What Should You Do With All That Money?

Honestly, that’s up to you.

You can reinvest everything into more production, upgrades, and resources. You can build massive storage areas filled with gold. Or you can simply spend your endgame building something ridiculous.

The fun of reaching this stage is that money stops being the main problem.

Once your fertilizer efficiency is high and your cauldron network is running properly, you have a system capable of turning cheap materials into enormous value.

You could build stacks of Gold Storage Boxes, keep expanding your factory, or create something purely for fun.

The important part is getting there efficiently.

The biggest lesson from this strategy is that you don’t need to do everything at once in Alchemy Factory.

During the early game, focus on automation and get Bandage Wholesale running. During the midgame, rush toward cauldrons and invest heavily in Fertilizer Efficiency. Once you’ve unlocked the technology tree, you can expand into other income sources or go all-in on cauldron production.

For me, the real power of this approach comes from understanding how cheap plant materials can fuel expensive production chains.

Once you start looking at cauldrons as a way to convert cheap value into valuable materials, the entire economy of Alchemy Factory starts to feel very different.

And eventually, you might reach the point where you’re no longer trying to earn gold.

You’re literally making it.
