Roblox The Veil Beginner Guide – The Maze, Prestige, Quest

The Veil has officially opened up for everyone, and if you have just started playing, there is a good chance you are still figuring out how everything works. The game throws quite a few mechanics at you, from weapons and progression to sanity, the Maze, classes, and Prestige.

In this post, I’ll take you through the main systems you should understand as a beginner in The Veil. I’ll explain things in a simple way, including how weapons work, how to survive inside the Maze, how Prestige works, where progression comes from, and what you need to know about classes.

You do not need to understand every advanced mechanic immediately. The best way to enjoy The Veil is to learn the important systems one at a time, explore as you progress, and slowly become familiar with everything the game has to offer. So, let’s get started.

Roblox The Veil Beginner Guide – The Maze, Prestige, Quest

One of the first things you should pay attention to in The Veil is your weapon.

Every weapon can have different abilities attached to it. When you select a weapon in your inventory, you can check its information and see exactly what it does. This includes its passive effects, active abilities, and other properties.

For example, some weapons have passive effects that activate automatically. A weapon with the Putrid passive can apply Rot through its critical attacks.

Other weapons can have Cast abilities. Cast basically refers to magic, so whenever you see Cast associated with a weapon, you can think of it as that weapon having magical capabilities.

Weapon rarity also plays an important role. Lower-rarity weapons may have fewer abilities, while rarer weapons can come with active abilities, multiple skills, and passive effects.

For example, one weapon might only have a Cast effect, while another could have an active ability such as Cobalt Barrage. Higher-tier weapons can become even more interesting by combining multiple active abilities with passives.

My advice is simple: whenever you get a new weapon, take a moment to actually inspect it. Don’t just look at its rarity and immediately decide whether it is good or bad. Some weapons have abilities that can be extremely useful depending on how you play.

How to Get a Free Rare Weapon

There is also an early quest you can complete to get yourself a rare weapon.

When you are in the village, head to a location called Verdant Hollow. Inside, you can speak with an NPC and go through his dialogue options to begin a quest related to obtaining a book.

Once you accept the quest, you will need to find another NPC and ask him about taking the book.

He will ask you for 10 Silver.

After purchasing the book, return to the original NPC. You will then need to pay another 100 Silver, bringing the total cost to 110 Silver.

In return, you receive a rare weapon.

It might not be the strongest weapon in the entire game, but it is a nice early reward. Its active ability provides 10% regeneration for 10 seconds and can also instantly restore 4% of your health.

For a beginner, this is definitely worth knowing about, especially if you want an early weapon with some useful survival potential.

The Day and Night Cycle and Entering the Maze

The Veil has a day and night cycle, and this directly affects the Maze.

The main entrance to the Maze opens during the night and closes during the day.

So, during daytime, you normally cannot simply walk through the main entrance because the door will be closed. At night, however, the Maze becomes accessible through the entrance.

That does not mean you are completely locked out of the Maze during the day.

Using Pylons to Travel Into the Maze

Pylons are extremely useful for getting around the world.

When you interact with a Pylon, you unlock it as a waypoint. Once unlocked, you can use the waypoint system to teleport between locations you have already discovered.

Some of these locations are inside the Maze.

For example, Echo Hold is located within the Maze. If you have already unlocked its Pylon, you can teleport directly there instead of waiting for nighttime and entering through the main door.

This makes exploration much easier as you progress.

Whenever you discover a new Pylon, make sure you interact with it. Unlocking waypoints will save you a lot of traveling later and gives you more options for entering and moving around the Maze.

How Progression Works in The Veil

Progression in The Veil is fairly straightforward once you get started.

The game provides arrows that guide you toward where you need to go for your objectives. You can follow the main questline for quite a while, and it should help you become familiar with the world and its mechanics naturally.

If you are completely new, I recommend focusing on the main story first.

The main quests will guide you through important locations and give you a general idea of what you should be doing.

However, don’t ignore side quests.

You can find NPCs around the world who offer optional quests when you speak with them. These side quests can lead to rewards and other interesting consequences, so I personally recommend talking to NPCs whenever you come across them.

Exploration is a major part of the experience, and sometimes the things you discover outside of the main questline can be just as interesting as the story itself.

Prestige in The Veil

Prestige is another important progression mechanic.

Your base health starts at 200 HP, but your health can increase as your Prestige increases.

For example, having 250 HP means you have progressed beyond the base health amount and gained additional benefits through Prestige.

You can increase your Prestige through PvE by defeating bosses.

You can also gain Prestige through PvP by defeating players who have the same Prestige level as you or a higher Prestige level.

This means you have multiple ways to progress depending on whether you prefer fighting enemies or other players.

However, there is an important risk.

You Lose Prestige When You Die

If you die, you lose one Prestige level.

For example, if you are at Prestige Level 4 and die, you can drop down to Prestige Level 3.

Because of this, Prestige is not simply something you gain and permanently forget about. You need to be careful, especially when you have worked hard to build it up.

For beginners, the most important thing to remember is that Prestige increases your health and can be progressed through both PvE and PvP.

The Information Tab Is Extremely Useful

One thing you should definitely spend some time exploring is the Information tab.

There is a surprising amount of useful information available there, and it can help you understand the game much better.

You can also manage your accessories and vanity accessories from this menu, including equipping and removing them.

The Information tab also allows you to check enemies and their potential drops.

Different mobs can drop things such as:

  • Weapons
  • Items
  • Accessories
  • Wearable equipment

So if you are looking for a particular reward, checking the enemy information can help you understand what you should be farming.

You can also see progression-related information connected to enemies. In some cases, defeating more of a particular enemy can provide additional damage-related benefits.

Honestly, if you ever feel confused about where to find information, check this tab first. It contains much more than you might initially expect.

How Combat and the Weave Mechanic Work

Combat in The Veil is built around a mechanic called Weave.

Your F key is used for weaving.

At first, you might think this works like a normal parry mechanic, but it is more important than just blocking or avoiding an attack.

Successful Weaves can stack.

If you successfully weave multiple attacks back-to-back, you build up your Weave streak. You can stack this up to five successful Weaves.

Once you reach five successful Weaves, you enter a special state that provides powerful bonuses.

This state gives you:

  • 25% more universal damage
  • Increased universal speed

Universal damage means the bonus applies to different types of damage.

This includes:

  • Melee damage
  • Summon damage
  • Cast or magical damage

Because of this, learning the Weave mechanic is extremely important. It is not just a defensive tool. If you can consistently weave attacks successfully, you can significantly improve your combat performance.

Exploring the Maze

The Maze is one of the biggest parts of The Veil, and you will spend plenty of time exploring it.

It is not just an empty area where you run around fighting random enemies. The Maze contains different locations, structures, waypoints, and areas waiting to be discovered.

When you first start exploring, you might find yourself randomly running around trying to figure out where everything is.

That’s completely normal.

The best thing you can do is keep exploring and pay attention to anything unusual you discover.

You may come across places containing Pylons, settlements, outposts, and other locations that become useful as you progress.

The Maze rewards exploration, so don’t assume you have already seen everything after a few trips inside.

Sanity Explained

Sanity is one of the most important mechanics to understand when you are inside the Maze.

During nighttime, your Sanity begins to decrease.

You can see your Sanity through the green bar on your screen.

If that bar reaches zero, you die instantly.

So when you are exploring the Maze at night, you cannot simply ignore your Sanity and continue wandering forever.

You need to know how to restore it.

Campfires and Safe Locations

One of the main ways to restore your Sanity is by finding campfires.

There are already established locations throughout the Maze that can help restore your Sanity.

For example, Runner Outpost functions as a location where you can recover your Sanity. You can think of places like this as larger safe areas similar to campfires.

These locations can also have NPCs that assist you when enemies are nearby.

When you are exploring at night, finding these locations can be the difference between surviving and losing all your progress.

So don’t wander too far without paying attention to where you can recover.

Using Sanity Potions

Another way to restore Sanity is by using Sanity Potions.

You can obtain these while progressing through the game and exploring the Maze.

Some early quests provide you with a few Sanity Potions, making them useful emergency items for beginners.

You can also purchase them from the potion NPC in the starter village.

I recommend keeping some available whenever possible. If your Sanity is getting dangerously low and you are nowhere near a campfire or safe location, a potion can save you.

The Maze Has Plenty to Explore

One thing I want to make clear is that the Maze is not empty.

There are different locations scattered throughout it, and you can discover new places simply by continuing to explore.

You may find:

  • New waypoints
  • Pylons
  • Outposts
  • Cities and settlements
  • Different areas with enemies and discoveries

Some locations will feel completely random when you discover them, and that is part of the exploration experience.

The more you travel through the Maze, the more likely you are to uncover something useful.

So if you are worried that the game becomes boring after entering the Maze, don’t be. There is plenty waiting to be found.

Don’t Forget the Help Menu

There is also a small but very useful Help icon inside the Information menu.

If there is a mechanic you don’t fully understand, check this section.

It explains many of the basic systems in the game and can answer questions that you might not immediately find answers to elsewhere.

This is especially useful because The Veil has several mechanics that can be easy to overlook when you are just starting.

So before spending too much time being confused about something, take a look at the Help section.

Events Can Happen in The Veil

The world can also experience different events.

For example, one possible event is a Goblin Army invading the Glade.

Events like these can suddenly appear while you are playing and add more activity to the world.

The Veil has some inspiration from games like Terraria, so these types of invasion-style events fit naturally into the game’s world.

Keep an eye on notifications and chat messages while playing because you might discover that an event has started.

Eor and Enhancement

Another mechanic you should know about is Eor.

Eor is used as a currency for enhancing your weapons.

The easiest way to understand enhancement is to compare it to enchanting equipment in Minecraft.

You use the enhancement system to improve your weapon with different upgrades.

For example, enhancements can include effects similar to Sharpness, allowing you to improve your weapon’s combat capabilities.

In a simple comparison, Eor works somewhat like the resource or levels you would need when enchanting equipment in Minecraft.

As you progress, weapon enhancement becomes another important part of improving your character.

So don’t only focus on finding new weapons. Improving the weapons you already own can also make a major difference..

Sins and Offerings

Two important things connected to classes are Sins and Offerings.

You can think of Sins as being connected to a more chaotic alignment, while Offerings represent a more orderly alignment.

Different trainers can require specific amounts of these resources before they allow you to obtain their class.

For example, a trainer may require 30 Sins before you can receive their training.

The general process for obtaining a class is:

  1. Find the trainer NPC for the class.
  2. Check what requirements the trainer has.
  3. Gather the required Sins, Offerings, or other resources.
  4. Return to the trainer and unlock the class.

There are multiple classes in the game, and discovering all of them is part of the fun.

As a beginner, you don’t need to rush into learning every class immediately. Just remember that trainers exist, and whenever you find one, check what you need to unlock their training.

The Veil has a lot going on when you first enter the game, but you don’t need to learn everything at once.

Start by following the main quests and learning how your weapon works. Get comfortable with the Weave mechanic, explore the Maze, unlock Pylons whenever you find them, and always keep an eye on your Sanity during nighttime.

Don’t forget to complete side quests either. They can lead to useful rewards and interesting outcomes that you might otherwise miss.

As you become stronger, you can start paying more attention to Prestige, weapon enhancements, classes, PvP, bosses, and the deeper systems of the game.

The biggest advice I can give you is to explore. The Maze has plenty of locations waiting to be discovered, and The Veil is much more enjoyable when you take the time to investigate the world instead of rushing through everything.

Hopefully, this detailed beginner’s guide helped you understand the most important mechanics and gave you a better idea of what you should be doing when starting your journey in The Veil. Now get out there, explore the Maze, unlock new locations, fight enemies, and see what you can discover.
